I have one and I love it...probably the most fun car I have ever had. I find it strange that we all talk as if this is the last of this type of car we will ever see. As if we have no say in the matter. As if our preference to live life as we wish, with that which we enjoy is beyond our control. As if all is "inevitable". I suspect generations have been taught a form of learned helplessness. They feel powerless, and that even protesting, let alone objecting is unthinkable. But it is easier than you think...simply say you do not want this to end. Just insist that having fun in a car like this is something you want to continue. You have to imagine the future is possible, before it can happen.
I feel very lucky to have a 3dr st3 mean green after reading some of the cancelled orders others have experienced. I collected mine about 1 month ago and have covered about 1k ish miles now and loving it! Actually started to push the car a little more the last 300 ish miles and it’s immense, handles like a dream!
Thank you for choosing such a beautiful sunny day for your video; it really enhances the details, and the quality is exceptional. Keep up the great work! The only minor issue is that the sound seems a bit bassy and muffled (though I'm comparing it to perfect sound, so please take it lightly). It's just a suggestion. I noticed that the audio sounds better when you're filming yourself, probably because the microphone is facing the opposite direction.
No worries! I got lucky with the weather it is very hit and miss in the UK. This view was filmed 2 years ago now so audio etc has improved however I do appreciate your feedback around the audio quality and I hope it did not detract too much from your experience viewing.
Good evening from Manchester folks, feel I have to address some things, we ordered our st-3 on 7 July 2021 in race red and 5 door as we needed the better access, we were informed just before Christmas that we would be getting the 2022 facelift model, a bit miffed at the time but when I looked into it I realised we were getting a great deal as ford honoured our spec and price from the 2021 model that we ordered plus we were getting the higher torque output from the puma st👍🏻. The new seats are far better, yes no power fold mirrors, couldn’t care less I have hands that can do the same job, the digital dash can take some time adjusting to your input but no biggie be patient. I have been lucky in my life to own and drive lots of different “performance” cars and in this bog standard guise/spec it makes me smile as much as my Intergrale used to. It’s a crying shame that cars like this will be disappearing from our lives. If you are lucky enough like us to own one please make the most of it as they are amazing bits of kit. Trying to get the money to finance a second one that’s how good I know they are. Didn’t mention that from ordering in July 21 we collected the car at the beginning of April 22!!!
@@dimitrisps576 unlucky, glad we didn’t get the option of mean green, the free colour is far more aggressive, in my opinion. The cheaper colours are going through quicker because the production line is geared towards a simple life.
Hi Sam, I picked up my MK8.5 ST, Race Red, last week Ford honoured my configuration of a 3dr model and dealer said my car would be rare so I feel really lucky to have mine, I have noticed that the engine is more responsive even in normal mode compared to my old MK8 ST. My only problem at the moment is connecting my SYNC 3 to my home Wi-Fi. But I love it, well worth the wait. Looking forward to more of your content on the MK8.5 ST, keep it up Sam👍🙂
All previous orders being changed to 5 door I’m not happy about that at all. Salesperson told me there adding performance pack but thought that was standard? It was on previous st3 mk8 which I own now

My dealer said that they upgraded my order because I ordered mine before the facelift was revealed, I assumed my car would be a 5dr as it would be classed as a upgrade. The performance pack is standard on ST3 the only options are a spare wheel and the winter pack 👍
Hey - I also picked up my MK8.5 ST3 last week (but in Frozen White)! It's a 3-door too which dealer said they're not making any more (though he also said they're not even taking orders for the Fiesta ST right now). Two problems for me so far: firstly - is the digital instrument cluster flickers (most noticeable in 'eco' mode); secondly - the driver's seat has a weird ridge where the stitching is at shoulder, causing it to feel like it's digging into my back. I thought it was just me but I've had a few people sit in there and they say the same thing. How've you found both?
@@stephenheyes1487 Put my order in middle of January got offered the same car I ordered last month but with B&O play (haven’t ordered it on mine) because the person that ordered it cancelled but dealer wanted more money & finance at higher rate & I refused it love these cars but figures where to high. Just checked Ford website & performance pack is standard on ST3
@@jamesbrowne7601 Ahh right, you have just been unlucky they must have took away the option of a 3dr model at the beginning of the year, even if it is a 5dr you will love it, I read a review in the Mirror and it mentioned that this may be the last ST, so it may be worth holding on to your new wheels👍
Yo, I ordered an mk8 st3 last august and was told 6 months. But around Xmas time I was asked if I wanna upgrade to the mk8.5. Damn right. And after 8 months I get in next week in black. Can’t wait!

I picked up my Mk 8.5 four weeks ago and am really pleased with it. I ordered it at the start of December and managed to get a 3 door with a pan roof, both now discontinued 😢
Got mine 5 days ago in 3-door - was told by dealer I was lucky to get one. (I waited 11 months for it, tbf.) Only issues are the digital dash flickering (especially in 'eco' mode) and at the stitching in the upper part of driver's seat has been done in such a way to create a ridge that digs into my back a bit on longer journeys. Suppose it's small price to pay for being one of the lucky few!
This color is epic. Looks soo good, especially as a 3door version. We cannot order the ST currently in Hungary, Ford stopped the production. The previously ordered models gonna arrive around 2023... What a shame. Also the price is ridiculous now.
Hopefully pick up my mean green st3 this Saturday with pano roof, B&0 10 speaker system, winter pack and wireless charging for the phone, they come with performance pack as standard, saw it last weekend in the showroom and did the deal
I like how these turbo ST's sound at stock. I'm guessing they have a tuned exhaust? Sounds much more sportier than my 1.4 TSI car. I like these have 5dr options

Have Ford reinstated all the equipment removed from the previous model, power fold mirrors & heaters, interior door lock switch along with much other equipment being standard on the last model?
Really wow........cost cutting after Ford and all the dealers said it was because of the semiconductor shortages! So why if it were cost cutting at launch the new 2022 facelift model was 19% more expensive than the previous model? I’m sure you have also read the feedback from new owners so angry at the fact the equipment was removed and that they were not informed by the selling dealerships, only to finding out when picking up their new car!
Cool video 😎 it’s a shame how the car market has been affected due to the various reasons around the world! I’m with you that we need to enjoy these amazing manual, petrol engine, fast Fords over the next couple of years as new ones will be a thing of the past before we know it 😔
Beautiful car. Don't care much for 3-doors though as they are very unpractical. Also I wish Ford would do away with the annoying antenna and just have a fin shaped one like other models. But the Fiesta is still the best super mini in the world 👍
Hi Sam, Great summary of the ST3 and love your passion for hot hatches. I picked mine up nearly 5 weeks ago and I’m delighted to have secured a 3 door ST3 before they disappear. Can you do a build quality comparison between the st3 8.5 and the hyundai i20n?. Not sure which one to go for but slightly worried about ford's build quality. Thanks.
They are both very similar from my experience in both. They are at a lower price point for a reason and the money is spent on the driving fun for both cars. If I had to choose, I would say the MK8 Fiesta would edge it but there is not too much in it. I would recommend sitting in both cars as everyone has there own personal preference on this 👍
Great video! Looking forward to the other upcoming videos of this ST-3! :) I'm from a big city from Germany - the city with its suburbs is having like 1.2 million people... I drive a lot (about 60miles a day) and I have seen 3 facelift models until now (no ST, just some basic ones)... as far as I have heard from my dealer, in my region 5 facelift STs have been sold/delivered until nowadays. I guess most of these little pocket rockets are beeing delivered to the UK :D For your information, the delivery delay is mostly coming from missing Sync 3 units. Yes, there are also missing painted door handles and a few parts for the Ford Performance Seats, but thats not the main problem. Thats why Ford changed the central configuration of all ordered Fiesta with Sync 3 to Sync 3 Light, but when orderering S3L, you can't get the digital dashboard. You can reorder the normal S3 (as I did), but you have to expect further delays. Main reason is that the Sync 3 unit was (or is?) beeing produced in Ukraine, so the replenishment is slow. BUT also, since most of the ordered Fiesta's haven't been configured back to normal Sync 3, it may be an "advantage" that more units are available to Sync 3 customers, since most units which are beeing installed are now Sync 3 Light. It means that you maybe don't even have to wait that much longer, although orderering the normal Sync 3 :D For all those who are already having a ST Facelift... feel lucky and have a lot of fun driving them! :D ... And don't you dare crashing one of them! xD PS: You can't order the new model for like 3 or 4 months now - as rumours say you won't even be able to order again this year. Ford has ~60k open orders, they are completely planned for this year.
Luvley car but its missing the sliding sunroof. My 19 plate st3 has that and its great in the summer months . I think it would look great in the mean green with black glass sliding roof .that would set it off a treat 👍
I really wish ford would continue to focus more on performance model. Even in Europe you can see they are just not interested any more as it is all about electric. It is a great car and yes they should have kept it going in the US also I feel 👍
I looked at this and the Puma ST in same green, I am tall but I found a good driving position in the fez. I thought it was built quite nice . Better than my focus mk3.5 ST I really liked the puma with the higher up feel. However there’s not a hope in hell of anybody squeezing in behind me sadly . Shame I liked the Puma st
I’m getting my 5 door one hopefully by the end of the year. Put the order in March and got a build date of September. Green not for me though, went with a black one
This video makes me sad. My wife ordered a ST-3 mean green 3dr in October and we’ve been told we aren’t getting it. We have to wait for a 5 door possibly in 2023, they can’t give any indication on build dates.
I wonder just how rare these will get at the end of the day. Mine will have way too much mileage done to be worth proper money in 5-8 years, but those less driven could have potential to become worth good money. Looking at the prices of 5 year old 7.5 ST's, do You think 8.5 might hold it's value as good as the old one? As You mentioned at the end, it's such a shame these cars are dying. I feel incredibly lucky to have a chance to own one of these. This is a type of car you just enjoy driving no matter what. Even after difficlult day at work, you take a sit in the car and the smile just goes back :D
Time will tell on prices but the 7.5's are still selling at a good price considering how old the car is now. As you mentioned the best thing is the driving experience and putting a smile on your face after a hard day's work 👍
Identical to my mk8.5 st3 mean green 3 door. I have it almost a month and it's brilliant Better in almost every way compared to my mk7.5 I traded for it. If you think they're rare over there here in Ireland there are almost none.
Thanks man! I have noticed too that there is nothing online for the facelift....its almost like it does not exist. My feeling is a) Ford are not interested in selling performance models in the future (particularly anything petrol) b) These cars are so hard to order they are essentially sold out at the moment or have a long wait time c) Ford does not see the Fiesta as a platform they will use going forward. I'll turn down working for ford as I do not like where the company is going.....for me this might be the last decent performance Ford
@@SamAustin There’s literally nothing at all about these cars anywhere called my local dealer & he said as soon as they come in people are picking them up & driving them off straight away but I’ve never seen one around (& I’m a class one driver up & down the country every day 😂😂) Dealer I’ve ordered from have got a three door in white but have been told not me touch it. I was offered it today but said no
@@SamAustin Ford done this before with performance cars in the early nineties with the XR & RS because of the insurance killed them because they where so easy they steal.
Ordered my ST 3 (or ST Ultimate as it’s called here) as a 3 door variant back in January. Last month Ford changed my order from a 2022 model year to a 2023 model year, meaning no 3 doors but 5 doors. I’m bummed about it. I was ‘okay’ with the missing feature but now then even changed the base config…
@@jamesbrowne7601 As far as I was aware, all ST3s came with performance pack as standard... But then Ford is no longer making the ST2 which was the only model that didn't come with the performance pack as standard (which you probs knew). So I'm wondering if they're now going to do a two-tier ST3 - one with all the bells and whistles and more basic model? (Basically the ST2 in all but name?) Maybe call up your dealer and push for more freebies? Sounds like they may be fobbing you off!

It is funny that we are accepting what they are doing to us because of EV-s.For start the price of petrol is over the top...it should be maybe 30% of the curent price.Even CO2 emitions regulations which force engine downsizeing are bullshit so we end up with this 3 cylinders.I really don't like where are we going.
Oil companies know their industry isn't long for this world so they're maximising profits (even though 60% of the price at the pump in the UK is taxes). Next con will be forcing everyone onto electric then doubling the price of electricity to charge it and taxing you per mile driven. Individual cars and travel will be the preserve of the rich in the years to come...
Had a call today telling me my st3 3 door (which I ordered in December 2021) is now going to be a 5 door and arrive mid September! A bit gutted to be honest with you but still exited nonetheless. Let me know if anyone else received this info #4doorsmorewhores 🫠😅

I believe these have not been reinstated and it was more due to a cost cutting measure rather than a supply issue in getting the right parts

Thats why Ford changed the central configuration of all ordered Fiesta with Sync 3 to Sync 3 Light, but when orderering S3L, you can't get the digital dashboard. You can reorder the normal S3 (as I did), but you have to expect further delays. Main reason is that the Sync 3 unit was (or is?) beeing produced in Ukraine, so the replenishment is slow.
BUT also, since most of the ordered Fiesta's haven't been configured back to normal Sync 3, it may be an "advantage" that more units are available to Sync 3 customers, since most units which are beeing installed are now Sync 3 Light. It means that you maybe don't even have to wait that much longer, although orderering the normal Sync 3 :D
For all those who are already having a ST Facelift... feel lucky and have a lot of fun driving them! :D ... And don't you dare crashing one of them! xD
PS: You can't order the new model for like 3 or 4 months now - as rumours say you won't even be able to order again this year. Ford has ~60k open orders, they are completely planned for this year.

Luvley car but its missing the sliding sunroof. My 19 plate st3 has that and its great in the summer months .
I think it would look great in the mean green with black glass sliding roof .that would set it off a treat 👍

I really wish ford would continue to focus more on performance model. Even in Europe you can see they are just not interested any more as it is all about electric. It is a great car and yes they should have kept it going in the US also I feel 👍
I looked at this and the Puma ST in same green, I am tall but I found a good driving position in the fez. I thought it was built quite nice . Better than my focus mk3.5 ST
I really liked the puma with the higher up feel. However there’s not a hope in hell of anybody squeezing in behind me sadly .

God that is a long time have they given you a date I know the factory is on a 5 week holiday but they start production up again 1st August

The visible rad at the bottom is the intercooler which was a big stock limitation of the mk7s, mk8 is vastly improved

My wife ordered a ST-3 mean green 3dr in October and we’ve been told we aren’t getting it.
We have to wait for a 5 door possibly in 2023, they can’t give any indication on build dates.

I wonder just how rare these will get at the end of the day. Mine will have way too much mileage done to be worth proper money in 5-8 years, but those less driven could have potential to become worth good money. Looking at the prices of 5 year old 7.5 ST's, do You think 8.5 might hold it's value as good as the old one?
As You mentioned at the end, it's such a shame these cars are dying. I feel incredibly lucky to have a chance to own one of these. This is a type of car you just enjoy driving no matter what. Even after difficlult day at work, you take a sit in the car and the smile just goes back :D
Time will tell on prices but the 7.5's are still selling at a good price considering how old the car is now. As you mentioned the best thing is the driving experience and putting a smile on your face after a hard day's work 👍

Thanks man! I have noticed too that there is nothing online for the facelift....its almost like it does not exist. My feeling is a) Ford are not interested in selling performance models in the future (particularly anything petrol) b) These cars are so hard to order they are essentially sold out at the moment or have a long wait time c) Ford does not see the Fiesta as a platform they will use going forward. I'll turn down working for ford as I do not like where the company is going.....for me this might be the last decent performance Ford
@@SamAustin There’s literally nothing at all about these cars anywhere called my local dealer & he said as soon as they come in people are picking them up & driving them off straight away but I’ve never seen one around (& I’m a class one driver up & down the country every day 😂😂) Dealer I’ve ordered from have got a three door in white but have been told not me touch it. I was offered it today but said no

Ordered my ST 3 (or ST Ultimate as it’s called here) as a 3 door variant back in January. Last month Ford changed my order from a 2022 model year to a 2023 model year, meaning no 3 doors but 5 doors. I’m bummed about it. I was ‘okay’ with the missing feature but now then even changed the base config…
I’ve been told my order has been changed to 5 door & that it’s getting performance pack added. But thought that was standard on an ST3?
@@jamesbrowne7601 As far as I was aware, all ST3s came with performance pack as standard... But then Ford is no longer making the ST2 which was the only model that didn't come with the performance pack as standard (which you probs knew). So I'm wondering if they're now going to do a two-tier ST3 - one with all the bells and whistles and more basic model? (Basically the ST2 in all but name?) Maybe call up your dealer and push for more freebies? Sounds like they may be fobbing you off!
@@ne_one Similar in Belgium. No regular ST, but only the ST Ultimate that has the performance pack as standard which is the ST 3 in the UK I believe.

It is funny that we are accepting what they are doing to us because of EV-s.For start the price of petrol is over the top...it should be maybe 30% of the curent price.Even CO2 emitions regulations which force engine downsizeing are bullshit so we end up with this 3 cylinders.I really don't like where are we going.
Oil companies know their industry isn't long for this world so they're maximising profits (even though 60% of the price at the pump in the UK is taxes). Next con will be forcing everyone onto electric then doubling the price of electricity to charge it and taxing you per mile driven. Individual cars and travel will be the preserve of the rich in the years to come...
