I turned this into an editable .MOGRT file (text animation preset) for Adobe Premiere Pro! You can download this for FREE here: brookerfilms.gumroad.com/l/typewriter
I personally use the crop effect to do this, but this seems like a really good method too! Also a quick tip: If you want to snap the cursor to a keyframe or to the end of a clip on the timeline or something, you can use shift while dragging the cursor.
Hey! I made a new video answering some of your questions on this effect, like 'How to add more than one line of text', 'How to change the colour of the text', 'How to add this on top of video', plus more - ruclips.net/video/9WX4RgXMKxw/видео.html Also, I've made the project file available. You can download this here - www.brookerfilms.com/premiere/typewriter
@@BrookerFilms yeah.... I hate these other RUclipsrs dragging the video out with a bunch of shit to extend their run time. In the end they typically give a poor tutorial anyway.... While at the same time Begging for "likes, subscribers, hit the Bell notification, let me know some shit in the comments, my patreon is this, my Instagram is that, follow me on Twitter Facebook and all that shit... it's pathetic.. It's 2020 : we know what to fuckin do... Haahah
There’s a lot of steps but will give it a go...still trying to get my head around key frames...sometimes it works for u, sometimes doesn’t. I guess just a matter of practicing. Thank you Chris.
I am binge-watching all of your videos to become a better editor. Your videos have helped me so much already, and they are so precise, easy to follow and bite sized. Thank you so much, keep it up :)
A ittle tip here: when writing on a computer the line doesn't blink while typing so for a realistic effect you could leave out the blinking during the linear swipe. Though the effect looks a bit cooler with the blinking I think :)
Hey thank you so much and for the time, effort and energy you put in this. If I could just say (coming from a good place) as a true beginner I had a hard time following because you were going soooo fast. For you it is so easy because you know what you are talking about and what you are doing; I, on the other hand, was looooost. But thank you
watching your work since 3 hours now. you are doing great work and putting videos on small things in different softwares. that is very very important. you are doing great.
Thanks for the tutorial! That helps a lot. A small question: how should I add that typewriter effect into a text with 2 lines? bc when I tried to do it, both of them would come out at the same time instead of appearing in order. So grateful if you can help :D
Try duplicating the already edited layer of your first text, edit the text and possible details that need re-doing and then just drag it to appear after your first line. Think that would be the easiest way.
The most used transition for texts in most vlog and RUclips videos, this is what I was looking for man, you made the method simple and easy to execute. Thanks man, looking forward to more of your vids!
I just realized, when I wanted something to blink, I cut out 1 frame, then leave the next in, then cut out the next one, so I ended up with a chopped clip, any time I wanted to change something (like position, etc) later, I had a hard time. Keyframing Opacity just never occured to me.. thanks for sharing! Good video!
If you do end up using this tactic instead of screen recording yourself typing something then you can also use the "Strobe Light" effect to create the blinking effect on your "cursor".
thank you so much! now i can make COOL THINGS!! i am now extremely happy! on a more serious note, this is very helpful and i am thankful for this tutorial.
Wow! it's unbelievable! I've been wanting to know how to do it for so long! And my editing teacher also told me that Premiere software can't do that, and now I'm discovering it! I thank you very much!
This is sooooooooooooooo much easier and less time consuming than your new tutorial. Maybe there is a scenario in an alternative universe where you would use the second method, but I will stick with this one for sure.

That is definitely the easiest way to do it 🙌🏻
Fucking genius
Holy shit dude, real 2000 IQ
Are you in 2050?
HOLY. Good thing I read your comment before trying to sequence 8 typewriting sentences
Short. Clear. Informative. No unnecessary BS at the start. I wish all tutorials on YT were like this. Thank you!
Thank youu! Learnt something i've always wanted to do and used it this time thanks to your video :)

Can you help me with something? I can't get the cursor in the middle of the frame. It stays in the upper part and I don't know how to fix it.
I just released a new way of creating this effect in 2021! Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/eiCgrPuBkSc/видео.html
i used to do this effect manually like adding letters frame by frame so this video literally saved me sooo much time and effort thank uuu
For someone who is familiar with Adobe but not Pr, you made it very easy to understand.
That’s so good to hear! Thank you ever so much
