well, if there was no Christmas break, there would still be a Halloween break for all souls and all saints day, and then a break during New Year, it's just that without the existence of Christmas, schools probably won't have a long winter break, not to mention teachers actually have to return to work a week earlier than the students to prepare every thing, so the break would be too short for Sabrina's teacher to spend any time with her family, especially if her family is not in the same town or state
and she always tries twice and thrice as hard to fix things if Sabrina didn't ruin things with magic every so often, she wouldn't have room to grow or mature and learn that not every thing can be fixed with spells and potions
