Drake is my favorite manufacturer primarily because of the Caterpillar. I dunno if it'll ever have all its features, but it sure would be the most awesome ship if it did.
Awesome video, love the ship manufacturer lore videos. Also love that they're steering the brand into the every day person as well rather than mainly pirates only. They have a really nice design style in a utilitarian way.
Thanks a lot for making this! I love Star Citizen lore but navigating it is a nightmare. Great to see my favorite manufacturer's history presented by you in an easy to process format.
I am leaving a comment in the hopes that this goes viral and we will get similar videos for other manufacturers too. Drake was my first love, since I enjoyed the rugged industrial style, but I am not as keen on the pirate aspect and reputation. Weird how that can affect real life purchases as well :D
Another option, the Cutlass can hold 40 size one missiles (a missile boat). but what may be more effective are 16 size two "Rattlers" (7 mini-missiles per Rattler = 112 mini-missiles)? It's a matter of how much damage either loadout can produce per hit and total damage? ;-)
I have origin 400I. And in arena commander i can slap on cutlass its missile racks. :D now I have like 48 S2 missiles on cutlass XD still I prefer 12 S3 arresters. Its awesome plarform for everything. My favourite ship. Btw, cutlass sensors are... well, not great. Ship dont know what missile is flying towards it. Just tiny "missile" Light will turn on and in heat of battle is really easy to not notice there is missile flying towards me 😂
Awesome video! I really love Drake and their designs. But is there a reason you didn’t talk about the Kesslering Heist when talking about the Caterpillar?
You coud make the Cutlass into a prefix, so you get the CutLong, the CutCom and the CutLight. The Corsair would be the Cutlass exploration, or CutEx. Herald would be CutFast.
Depends on the manufacturers, there has been an explosion in ship production post Messer Era and the further we get away from the Cargo Crisis the more efficient logistical chains are. So It is a lot easier to make new ships in the 30th century than it was previously. Anvil for instance made something like half its roster in the 30th century alone.
you should have really put a time line, there, im not gonna keep up with the dates, honestly it doesnt make sense to use the dates if mostly no one is gonna remember them
I legitimately dont understand why so many people love the ship manufacturer that literally cant finish building their ships(caterpillar literally has panels on the inside that are propped up against the walls instead of actually being installed)
The Cutlass & Caterpillar are ancient at this point. If you want to see an example of the modern Drake design guide, look at the interior of the Corsair & Vulture, or even the Cutter. Many of what would be bare, lined inner hulls, now generally have flat interior paneling, covering much of that older, uglier interior with a much more finished, but still heavily utilitarian feel.
@harabecswurveweathers "finished" and "utilitarian" should never be used in the same sentence as drake ships. All of those ships have exposed components both inside and out. Drake can't be bothered to finish assembling any of their ships before they sell them to you. An entire manufacturer dedicated to making the "uglies" from star wars
Couldn't even buy it after getting store credit for ccu's i have had for years now i am stuck with nothing because cig allows botting and scripting. People who dont care get it and i am over here with a full crew ready and waiting and we didnt get it
this is the things that doesnt make sense at all. you say that the Cutlass lack firepower, but that in lore doesnt make sence... what it preventing Drake to put four size 4 guns on this ship? look at the size of this thing, it can certainly do it. So this "lack of firepower" makes no sence in lore... it might make sence in a gameplay perspective... but not in lore
Energy wise, you would need a better generator, so less cargo space or bigger ship. Important to note most of the time it's a mix between lore and gameplay to stay coherent too
I found myself smiling and silently cheering for this fictional compagnie through out the whole video.
If CIGs marketing doesnt make you buy a Drake, Paul is always around the corner to help push you over the edge. Ironclad, unlocked.
Drake is my favorite manufacturer primarily because of the Caterpillar. I dunno if it'll ever have all its features, but it sure would be the most awesome ship if it did.
Damn I cannot get enough of these! Bring on part 5 of A Complete History of SC Lore!
AstroHistorian, I don't ever speak up much but just to say that I'm loving these long SC history videos. Well done Sir. o7
Finally! Literally been craving a good lore video about drake!
Who is you favorite ship manufacture and why is it Drake.
Its RSI
My favorite ship manufacturer is Drake because it is Drake
Fun fact: Nazi Germay also had a "Volksjäger"-project in 1944, with the same goal of creating a cheap, mass-producable fighter
Yea but that was for the war efort since germany was failing on east and west front and losing alot o fighters
I love your star citizen lore videos. I have been watching for this video for a month.
Another wonderful lore video, thanks again.
Cant wait to see all the "Ishimura" and "Nostromo" Drake capital class ships
1 hour, now I can't sleep, thanks! Bloody drake!
Great video! I listened to this while finishing the last phase of Save Stanton. This honestly changed my perspective of Drake.
I'm still quite far from finishing. Hope I can manage before 4.0
Awesome video, love the ship manufacturer lore videos. Also love that they're steering the brand into the every day person as well rather than mainly pirates only. They have a really nice design style in a utilitarian way.
Absolutely fantastic lore history you have gathered and your narrative is super nice. I just LOVE it 🙂
Thank you for this! Love what you're doing and love the detail of information you're providing us!
Awesome work yet again. Very entertaining and added to my own immersion in a verse I already love. Thank you.
05:04 Wait... a kitchen what???
Did I miss a checkbox on the order guide somewhere?!
A very immersive listen while I’m out delivering mail. I loved it.
Outstanding as always!
Oh man, I've been waiting for the Drake video! Thank you!
Drake, for the people!
Bloody amazing thank you and this makes me love DRAKE more
Thanks a lot for making this! I love Star Citizen lore but navigating it is a nightmare. Great to see my favorite manufacturer's history presented by you in an easy to process format.
Thank You for a fantastic lore video, so very much appreciated. You are truly the Master Historian.
We appreciate the hard work put towards this style of content! 🙏 especially during the IAE show 👏 looking forward to seeing the cat & all the modules
Another great video 👍🏻 Keep up the good work 🎉
I am leaving a comment in the hopes that this goes viral and we will get similar videos for other manufacturers too.
Drake was my first love, since I enjoyed the rugged industrial style, but I am not as keen on the pirate aspect and reputation.
Weird how that can affect real life purchases as well :D
Love your videos man keep them up!
more people need to watch your videos they are so good
Great video again. I am not a drake lover, but even i cant exist without at least one of them. Also gib lobster.
Nice lore video about Drake there. Do the lore video on RSI and MISC (and Mirai performance brand) next
This series is awesome! Lore is awesome even if it is as volatiles as SC's. Thank you for your hard work :D
Love Drake the Cutty Black was my first ship and I still fly it more than my other ship.
Fantastic Video, thank you for the entertainment.
Great content. My favourite manufacturer. I hope we get good mining ship from drake.
Really nice video👌 Drake for the win!
Another option, the Cutlass can hold 40 size one missiles (a missile boat). but what may be more effective are 16 size two "Rattlers" (7 mini-missiles per Rattler = 112 mini-missiles)?

Thanks a lot, this was a great video!
Love the video. Also makes the CIG nerf of the corsair even more questionable if they're literally retconning the universes established lore..
Awesome video! I really love Drake and their designs. But is there a reason you didn’t talk about the Kesslering Heist when talking about the Caterpillar?
I thought the Ironclad was introduced in 2953. Great video.
I still want to see a Crow conversion for the Starfarer into a Fury Carrier
Great content!, as always :)
great video!!
You coud make the Cutlass into a prefix, so you get the CutLong, the CutCom and the CutLight. The Corsair would be the Cutlass exploration, or CutEx. Herald would be CutFast.
Please do more company lore vids Pual. Love the vids. :)
What Manufacturer do you think you want to do next?
Wow, is this CIG official history, or did you make up the history? Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed the video.Thank you
Official lore from the devs
Hell yea, new Lore Video.
Drake really are the best.
Awesome!!!
Gotta love the drake lore
Always love hearing about Drake, the BEST ship manufacturer. #DrakeSupremacy 😎
Thank you Mr. Shelley! 🤜🍽🤛😋
cutlass is the LandCruiser of drake
I’m watching this before going to bed
Yay new lore video!!!
all this lore from ONE ship company in the verse !
I love so much lore videos 😊
drake lore 🙂 tale of the underdogs and near outlaws
No way!!! What a nice surprise lol
Drake is the most fun of all of the ship manufacturers. Also, how can you say Pirates are ALL bad. No one can be a pirate all the time....😅
Wow! What a video 😮
Now I need an Ironclad... Must support DRAKE
I really enjoyed i do hope you plan to do MISC or Aegis 🙂
Aegis is up for the next Invictus.
Can't "like" it multiple times, but can throw a comment at the algorithm.
No matter drakes history. I still call drake home 🫡
The ship releases in lore seem pretty close to eachother. Wasn't there some bit of lore that manufacturers rarely make new ships?
Depends on the manufacturers, there has been an explosion in ship production post Messer Era and the further we get away from the Cargo Crisis the more efficient logistical chains are. So It is a lot easier to make new ships in the 30th century than it was previously. Anvil for instance made something like half its roster in the 30th century alone.
Magnus did nothing wrong!
I wouldn’t call the crew quarters of the Corsair “Luxurious” and the Mule BARELY fits in the Cutter but hey, Drake knows how to market!
Compare the Corsairs personal quarters to any other large exploration ships.
nice video
I don't get why only drake gets bad image on piracy. I see more misc, rsi and origin ships used by pirates.
Lore reason, also to give Drake some credit, pirate will only use affordable and reliable ship... =)
22:02 "unexpectedly" sure
Drake is the best. ❤
I Love the Javelin
"X with an engine"
Release the Kraken!!!!
Drake 4 life!
Drake, Drake, Drake!!!!
you should have really put a time line, there, im not gonna keep up with the dates, honestly it doesnt make sense to use the dates if mostly no one is gonna remember them
i can only hit the like button once
Drake 4 Life
D4L❤🔥
Duct-tape and Love!
Drake or die!!

Just now noticing there are no children in this universe 🤔
Cutter (and Corsair and Cutlass), my beloved.
Couldn't even buy it after getting store credit for ccu's i have had for years now i am stuck with nothing because cig allows botting and scripting. People who dont care get it and i am over here with a full crew ready and waiting and we didnt get it
