- This time baker Mama recreated the Memory Lane Pastry from the famous game, Final Fantasy XV.
Our friend Mujinari commented on our instagram post featuring Mama’s homemade Bakewell tarts saying they looked just like the sweets in the game, so we decided to recreate them together.

Our Recipe
Jam
・450g mixed berries
・450g sugar
・2 tbsp lemon juice
Sit overnight to let juices develop. Heat gently to dissolve sugar then increase the heat to a rolling boil. Once the jam reaches 105℃, use any method to test the set of the jam. Transfer to jam jars.
Pastry
・150g plain flour
・85g butter, cold and cubed
・25g icing sugar
・1 egg yolk
・1-2 tbsp cold water
Rub flour, butter and icing sugar together until they resemble breadcrumbs. Whisk 1 tbsp of water and egg yolk together, add to flour mix until the dough just comes together. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight before rolling out and placing into the tart tins. Prick toe bases with a fork and refrigerate until needed.
Crème d’amande (frangipane)
・90g butter
・90g icing sugar
・90g egg
・90g almond powder
Return all ingredients to room temperature. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg a little at a time, adding the almond powder before the last of the egg.
Tarts
Preheat the oven to 180℃. Remove tarts from the fridge. Place 1-2 teaspoons of jam to the bottom of each tart. Pipe frangipane over the top, covering the jam and leaving room for it to puff up. Pat down any pointy bits with a wet finger. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before removing from the tart tins.

I don't know what to say, I have never played Final Fantasy, but with a fusion with your homemade style baking, these pastries are looking delicate.
