Target needs to hire you for their back to school ad! Seriously.
I'm an educator and I totally have a snack drawer. There are always Tylenol, chocolate, monster energy drinks, Funyuns, dried fruit, gummy candy, peanut butter (with a bag of disposable spoons), Cheetos, sweet tarts and more! Still hunting for some sanity to put in there but the stores always run out!
I have ramen in mine and cans of baked beans. Lol

Awww…poor kiddos! Don’t hit them with the Funyun breath! 🥴 You may want to add toothpaste, toothbrush, and mouthwash to that snack drawer! 😂🤣

Awww it's ok to cry. It will get better but unfortunately you'll still cry, just for different reasons. Find a friend at work that you trust and can vent to when you need to talk to adult.
It certainly will get better. I don’t think we would cry in any other profession. But, on most days, it’s totally worth it.
The first year of teaching is the hardest. I promise. It will get better. 🤗🙏💐
One of my teaching friends used to say, "first years the worst." Whenever I had a plight, I didn't understand until year 3 probably, but then it was so much better.
@@CatM23 put an essential oil diffuser near your desk and put essential herb oil that help concentration in it. They actually sell those in Germany at the pharmacy with the name school and student on it. It's a blend put together to promote concentration.
I retired six years ago and I still get ridiculously excited when school supplies start showing up in stores! I don't need them anymore but oh yes, I still buy them! Just can't help it!

Yes I’m not a teacher yet but I always buy the soft ones for my sons teachers. Same with wipes (I didn’t this year I’m sure she’ll be bombarded with people who overstocked from covid) but I get organic since Clorox & such are very toxic.
My school doesn't have tissues. Teachers have to buy them if parents don't donate them
Soo true like I had a cold all week and I had blow my nose with the mask since it was like dripping down and the school one felt awful so after class I ran to bathroom to use the Pape towel loll

That is definitely our problem as teachers, we see potential in every object, bag, and tool. Lol oh the possibilities of this 'thing'! I could do (insert whatever) with it in a lesson. 😄
Teachers see potential in things because they don’t give us supplies. Besides if it wasn’t for our boundless optimism we’d leave this train wreck. Stay strong my tribe the struggle is real.
I retired a year ago and still think like that. My mother retired from teaching 25 years ago and still hoards random stuff for the same reason.

How was this haul only $345!? 😂 With 5 pairs of shoes? 5 bottles of wine? I’m betting $500 or more.
The funny thing is Target was my first job from HS through college and my PT after I started working in schools. 9 years of target! So I was already attached to the store. So it didnt make it easier as a TA when I started seeing all the cute things I could use in the classroom!

That is such a nice idea! I'm pregnant with my first, so I'm obviously not there yet, but I'd totally give a target gift card to my child's teacher. How do you give the teacher their gift card? How much is reasonable, $25? They totally deserve it with all the stuff they have to buy out of pocket.

As a student I think that every summer teachers should have an amount of money to spend on school supplies especially for the new teachers between 100/1000 per teacher even though it would be extremely expensive it would allow the teachers to get what they need and more at the beginning of the year to make it a little easier
Why, in American schools, is it the teachers’ jobs to get these stuff? In England there is a budget and everything comes from this budget, and stuff is mostly ordered online
I live and teach in England and when I watch videos showing Target bargains I feel so jealous that we don’t have one here, then relieved as I think it would bankrupt me 😂

Oh no! Not the snack drawer with family size bags of chips. I rather spend more and buy the individually wrapped bags (vending machine style). Dont wanna risk unwanted guests, for example, ants.
Yes or rats. I keep my snacks in metal cookie tins from thrift store. Rats don't bother them.

The stuff for your “snack drawer” also needs an airtight container, at least that’s what the pest management training at my workplace taught me.

the fact all elementary teachers (and most middleschool teachers and some highschool) love target with their life.
Not my dad. Target was too rich us, it was KMart & WalMart. Anything my dad bought was from those stores, occasionally a Samsclub. Dallas teachers didn't make enough to shop Target, I never actually went into Target until High School.

My teacher pulled a 12 pack of sparkling water out of her snack drawer and still has more room
the K mart was taken away in my homecity and the only place you can get snacks is at this place the warehouse or the supermarkets and man it aint cheap so the teachers here dont like it so we bring them snacks and just try make them havea decent class

OK, Jessica, first of all, at some point, Costco makes more sense than Target. Also, I remember my wife doing this run every year. This is incredibly accurate. We just couldn't afford Target. We shopped at dollar stores, teachers' closets, and thrift stores mostly. So you must be making pretty good money...
