It's unfortunate I must tell you this... The salad was actually named after a chef that shares the name. I am... Truly sorry.
It's okay, Julian. At least you're still named after Caesar.
The ceasar salad was named after Chef Ceasar who had a restaurant in Tijuana, México. (The restaurant is still open and they make the original Ceasar salad.) The chef made the salad to movie stars who went from Los Angeles to Tijuana to avoid the alcohol ban. The movie stars later asked for Chef Ceasar's salad back in L.A. and it spread to the world from there.

Only 5 people stabbed him while he was alive. The other 18 was after death. The other 18 pussied out. Technically there was 60 people in on the plot and 37 didn’t do anything at all.
I could have sworn a few years ago I read that he was alive up until the very last stab, which was the technical cause of death.

You can't compare him with dictators nowadays. In Rome there was a function dictator where they gave a person all power for 6 months when they are under threat. So we can't compare our modern word dictator with the Roman version of dictator.
Well the wars last longer now then back then! Think about it a war now last 20+ years for a normal avrage war! Back then 1-2 years max for a normal war! So the dictator would be in office longer now then back then since the threat is longer! See the difference! Longer war = Longer Dictator term!
And then he didn't give up that power, just like a modern dictator
@@balabanasireti Well technically the Senate voted to continue his term. So not the same.

That was awesome long but awesome next you should do the story of Octavian versus Anthony or even Anthony all amazing
I always read a lot into the fact that Caesar had nothing but a pen to defend himself. Like, he had nothing to defend himself?... no, the legend never says that. He had a pen, and he probably took someone's eye out with it before he went down.
I once saw him take out 3 guys in a bar with only a pencil
@@yugiohrookie a focking *makes own henchman flinch* bensyl.
This statement is likely to be a reference to the story of Julius Caesar's assassination and the fact that he was reportedly attacked with knives by a group of senators. The idea that he had "nothing but a pen to defend himself" is likely to be a metaphor for the fact that he was not physically armed and was caught off guard by the attack.
However, the statement that Caesar "probably took someone's eye out with it before he went down" is not supported by historical evidence and is likely to be a humorous or imaginative embellishment. It is important to remember that historical accounts of Caesar's assassination and the events surrounding it can be biased and may not accurately reflect what actually happened.
In order to gain a more accurate understanding of Julius Caesar and the events of his time, it is important to consider a wide range of primary and secondary sources.

It's absolutely a shame a great man like Julius Caesar was horribly and cowardly murdered just because the Senators didn't want to lose part of their power. Sadly, this situation happeneed again numerous times during the Roman Empire. For example, Emperor Domitian (who ruled the Empire just 150 years after Julius' death) was a pretty great emperor way ahead of his time (even though he was pretty ruthless and used slaves as targets while playing archery), as he was the only emperor who solved the inflation problems Rome suffered from and also constructed a great amount of amazing buildings. However, the senators didn't like him despite the good things he did, which caused Domitian to be killed in a pretty similar way to Julius.
Do you know the history of Julius Caesar? Whoa
@@lovingit4450 Yes, I know it. It's true he did really questionable things, but he didn't deserve to be killed in such awful way. As the new ruler of Rome, he did pretty admirable reforms that caused a legacy that still lives nowadays, not mentioning he added much more senators and made the access to the Senate much more easy to to the citizens. Those who killed him didn't do it for justice, but just for pure egoism
@Loving it
Do you?
@@lovingit4450 girl bye clearly he does
@@OptimusMaximusNero it depends what lense you look through. The Senate had a tendency to assassinate people trying to seize control over rome but he didn't seek vengeance.
Side note, Pontifex Maximus was not the most sought-after position in the Roman Republic. That would be the Consulship. The Pontifex Maximus was the chief priest of the Roman religion.
Additional note. The Gallic Warriors were not equal to the Roman Legionaries. The Romans used standardized equipment, went through basic training, drilled consistently and were career soldiers. Most Gallic warriors were probably farmers who took up arms against the Roman intervention into Gaul.
good notes
The Pontifex Maximus was held for life while the consul was shared with another man for only a year. The current pontifex maximus is pope Francis

@@genaralman115sucks they thought it was too expensive to keep going so they rushed the ending
The senators actually used stylus pens to stab Caesar, not blades, and Caesar could have been saved, he died of blood loss, all he had to do was go get help but he had given up, he pulled his tunic over his head and waited to die.
No he tried to fight back with a stylus
What a Chad.
He gave up after he saw Brutus as one of the assassins.
The historical accounts of Julius Caesar's death differ in their details, but most agree that he was assassinated by a group of senators. Whether he had any weapons on him at the time of the attack, or whether he had given up and was waiting to die, is not definitively known. However, it is widely accepted that he was indeed killed by the senators who stabbed him with their stylus pens.
@@Yassty you are correct about all of this besides the fact that he gave up and accepted death, that is a known historical fact
I feel so smart after your videos
Julius Caesar's life serves a lesson to power hungry people to let go when necessary and this still echoes to this day
True and still I'm not quite over it, 2060+ years later and i'm still not fine with this ^^
Imo he was a necessity. Rome was madly corrupt . He was it's best hope at a turn around. Had really good reforms and great ideas. Not to mention he had brains like no other .
Without julius caesar's actions, Rome would've became nothing more than your average empire. Consolidation of power was needed in order to provide a focus and drive especially when it came down to warfare.
@@ChrisZukowski88 facts. He was the change of the tide for them. His reforms weren't even crazy they all were pretty ideal. Had he lived he would've achieved wayyyy more for them and passed a natural heir that he appointed so civil war was avoided.

Imagine if Caesar didn’t befriend Marcus Licinius Crassus! 😧This world would’ve been much different!
So what happened after he befriended him?
Why?
@@elijahtriton4547 he'd still be in debt?
It's impossible to know exactly how the world would have been different if Caesar had never befriended Crassus, but it's likely that the events that followed in Roman history, such as the formation of the First Triumvirate, would have been impacted. Additionally, Caesar's later military conquests and political rise to power might not have taken place as they did. Ultimately, it's impossible to know the full extent of what could have been, but it's an intriguing thought experiment.
He probably would have found another financier
