- The Start of my 2000 Kia Sportage 4x4 Restoration project. I really needed a 4x4 for the mountains of Big Bear, but I didn't want to just buy any old 4x4, I wanted one I could put my own personality into. So going with a project 4x4 was the way to go.
Had a Bright Red 2000 Sportage 2 wheel drive. Plus . Had it till she Passed away in 2006. She Loved that little Winny the Poo looking SUV . I was a great little Vechical. A Nurse got it in South Carolina got it . Amazing because my wife was a Nurse aswell.

Hey William, working on a Sportage myself. Any pointers on taking the oil pan off? I'm looking at dropping the front differential if that'll help.

Picked one up for 300, had 8 codes for O2 sensors and missfires, I got the engine firing right but for the life of me I can't find the down stream O2 sensor and I've searched the exhaust from header to exhaust tip, any tips on finding it would be greatly appreciated as you can't buy a chiltens or Haynes
Finding used parts for these suck in my State.
Since it was a car that was prime choice for cash for clunkers seeing how it couldn't compete fuel mileage wise with a Honda CRV / Chevy Tracker of same era. Has a Mazda 2.0 non interference but gets worse mileage then my ranger with a 2.3 mazda engine ever did.
