You guys asked for it , so here it is. CR backing plate blanks available here: www.racebuilds.com/l/axce4q/cr-wing-backing-plates
I’ll be your first customer!
You're awesome for offering these, thank you!!! Would you be willing to make some sort of template for the trunk to drill the holes?
@@needurskullz No current plans on making a template for the trunk. With these rep wings Id be hesitant to install it any other way than my method in my other video where i modify the trunk. I have not installed enough of these to determine if these wings are produced to a tight tolerance or not.
Hey, will there be any more of these going up for sale?
Can't wait for the review after testing it out on the track!
Love the car 🚗 Watched all three videos on this! Great job brother! I’ve been debating on the CR wing and I think you just motivated me to go for it!
Subbed 👍🏼
Love hearing comments like this. Thanks man best of luck with it !
Wow, great job! Thank you for this video. After watching you YT we are going to order the same wing. 😎
Nice work. I made the same bracket when installing the cr wing.
Just got mine today, really nice piece for the money!
That wing looks nice and those braces are great! When you showed those little plastic pieces for the quarter panel i was like.. screw that and cut those knobs off and literally thats when you did 😂😂
Looks great
Waiting for functional test :)!!
oh its been tested alright, just a little behind on my footage :)
Have you noticed improved stability on high speed turns at the track?
Yes between this and a little better 200tw tire on my car this year, I have set PBs on every track I’ve been to this year. Videos to come !
You can make those brackets and sell them online. Could be a small business profit
Would be a great opportunity for sure, however I’m not sure. The OEM CR wing and Seibon REP have the same exact hole pattern as this EOS rep.
Has the wing looked stable under highway speeds? No funny wobbles/vibration?
It’s not as sturdy as a big wing like the 9 lives racing or something similar. In the end of the day it is ABS plastic and does flex if you push on it just like your bumpers and what not. I have noticed it does shake a little bit at idle because of my stiffer engine mounts. I recently took some GoPro footage of the wing at over 100 mph on track so stay tuned for when I post that! But overall I’m pretty happy, not significant movement but it does flex at the ends more than ideal
Why did you choose a CR wing vs say APR GTC 200? Were you looking for an OEM look?
CR wing is an oem aero part so it keeps me in Street touring for scca autox and tuner for time trials. Any non oem wing would bump me into a full aero class so I’d need to do a serious wing and massive splitter up front. That changes the whole suspension setup too so I’ve decided to keep my car at an oem+ level build, and enjoy it. I am very happy with the way the car performs in its current state
A paper drilling template would be good if the manufacturer included one; there is always one for each wall shelf in the instructions, why not with the wing?
Well that would make it too easy of course! Now everyone is forced to watch my videos ! 🤪
where did you buy that gasket between the wing stand and the trunk ?
It comes with the wing
Where did you get the dimensions for the backing plates? I'm taking a CNC plasma cutter class and I'll just cut these so I can use them on the s2k and for my homework lol! Nice video BTW
NVM I got them!
@@ppy1111 i was gonna say haha, all the dimensions you need should be in the first 30 secs of the video
@@NAUS2K Yo. I just got the same wing! I got a question. I was thinking of drilling the 3 holes on the trunk support plates first. And then assemble the whole wing assembly together with the support plates and measure the support plate distance. I can then use the support plates as a template for the trunk holes? You think that would work too? I'm just worried that it will not line up since the trunk is slightly curved.
@@ppy1111 I wouldnt drill the holes in the support plates first, since your not sure the plates will fit in that exact spot under the trunk. Check out my other video where i drill the holes in the trunk to guarantee they are perfect.
If anyone goes through the process of making these backing plates can you consider making some for the community? You'll be my new best friend
Unfortunately I did not make a 1:1 template of these as I drilled the holes in them after they were formed to match the contour of the trunk. Making a template of this 3D profile would be very difficult for the DIY tools I have
@@NAUS2K thanks Naus, this message is intended for your audience in case anyone attempts this diy or has the resources to produce at scale.
Doesn't make sense for you to go back and remake them. Thanks for your response but mostly, thanks for making this video! Couldn't have been better timing.
Backing plate blanks now available ! www.racebuilds.com/l/axce4q/cr-wing-backing-plates
This is just awesome.
In total how long was the process of installing the wing in real time excluding the wait on paint?
I’ve installed a few of these now. Takes me a couple hours or so to
how is the wing holding up ? does it vibrate like a tuning fork ?
Wing held up great this year. It does vibrate though at idle from the hardrace engine mounts i have in my car. Sort of like a tuning fork like you mentioned.
Bruh there's foam sandwiched between the trunk layers where these plates are supposed to go, how do you get the foam out?
The foam stays and you navigate these plates around them when getting them into position.
@@NAUS2K yeah I don't think we're talking about the same foam because that's not possible.
What foam are you talking about . The trunk is two layers of sheet metal. The outer layer and the inside stamped reinforced piece. There is a small 1/8”ish gap between the two panels with little dots of high density foam like glue to support the outer layer of the trunk to the inner when pushed down upon.
Those black wheels need to be changed. They disappear into the tires.
They get destroyed with all the hot brake dust from all the track days. Black hides the fact they are torched lol
how is the wing holding up ?
held up great this year. Hopefully over christmas break ill be able to get some videos out.
@@NAUS2K can you please do a video recording the wing as you drive?
@@Udancearoundme ive got a video of it at 110 MPH on track, long story short its fine. And ive compared it to an OEM CR wing and there is no noticeable difference in deflection.
@@NAUS2K can you please post the vid ?, i am really considering this mod because of your vids . Thanks !
Beautifully done! I am 100% sure the S2000 community luvs you for doing this. A lot of the S2KI info on such an install/mod is good, but nothing compared to this. Thank you! P.S. Not sure you if have an IG, but feel free to follow me RafC4569_s2k - you can checkout my build 🤙
Appreciate the comment bro! Yea I’ll add you on IG 🤘
