This brings me back to the mid 80's mama 🐻 and I would take our 4 children on vacations, off to school or maybe out for ice cream. Ours was a 1984 Pontiac Parisian wagon same color and wood grain detail. Papa 🐻, mama 🐻 and 4 little 🐻S
Even with the cosmetic issues, this is a STEAL. To those who may say otherwise, go price wagons for a while, and you'll come to the same conclusion. Good job Anthony for keeping this gem out of the junkyard!
My Dad had this exact model & exterior color; I’m not sure about the interior. He bought it brand new in 1992. It had been a Shuttle Car for the 1990 Buick Open. It sat at the Dealership after being refinished at the factory so it could be sold as new. But there was a change in the law in MI that year which forced GM to List and sell them as Used. It had about 4,000 miles on it when my Dad bought it in like Jan. or Feb. of ‘92. He didn’t have it very long though. He had to take to the ditch to avoid hitting a dog and Ins. totaled it after discovering the frame was bent downward flexing the entire body and jamming the doors on the passenger side of the vehicle. It had about 8K on it then. You couldn’t tell there was any flexing or bending to look at it. Only when you went to open the rear door, passenger side and it would stick. Our local frame shop was sure they could fix it but GM wanted the car destroyed so they wouldn’t have to ever worry about any lawsuit. My Dad loved that car. But he had an ‘83 Pk. Ave. that he also bought new, an ‘87 Ford F350 Motorhome and an ‘89 F150 w/Club Cab that he also bought new. So he didn’t really need it.
Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, it has termite damage!!! Great comment. This Buick wagon has really nice seats & it looks to be a good solid car that just needs a little love!!! Thanks for sharing this cool video!!! 👍👍🙂
Hi Anthony. Love these tome capsules!! They still have a lot of life left plus a wagon can take the place for some pick ups if your using it for business.. it has its flaws but us older guys find uses for them Just Ask PaPa Bear!! God bless guys I'm glad your digging them up for sure!!
We never had wagons with a 3rd row. 1) they were never comfortable and 2) you got a lot of useful underfloor storage. Of course back in the day, kids just jumped over the second seat to play in the cargo area - and we all survived somehow.
DIG the Patina on this old gal! I'd put new whitetails on, do mechanical needs and ENJOY her as-is! I had an '87 LeSabre Wagon, bought from Original Owner in Chicago, it had some rust of course, but was a NICE Cruiser and attracted more attention than my Grand National sometimes! LOL!
There is so much potential in this vehicle. Once the cosmetic inside and out are corrected, this is indeed a winner. You have to see the potential. Thank you for sharing.
Anthony, Mark Williams here. I bought the Buick wagon last summer. What you have there is a Buick Estate Wagon, not a LeSabre, not an Electra. 1989 was the last year for the Electra Estate Wagon. Have put a lot of love into mine with much more to go. Looking forward to a season full of Cars and Coffee weekends around here! Regards to you and Papa Bear.
The back seat had to have been a "delete option" at no charge. I had an 85 Caprice woody wagon with nearly 300k on it. I got it from my neighbor. It rusted so badly that the front shock rusted off and no longer connected to the car!
🇺🇸 *What a RARE car* !! *LOVE this 1990 LeSabre Electra Estate Wagon* !! *My parents had a 1979 Electra(not the wagon, they had a sedan)* !! *FAB job Papa Bear and Anthony* !! #SpecialtyMotorCars 🇺🇸
He sure has, like myself, a huge heart and love for great American cars that we need to save these beautiful cars for ourselves and others, and years from now especially as their mouth would drop with amazement of how cars were made, cherished by their owner(s) as the wagon can grow in age forever if given love and care. Anthony, don't forget me out in Oregon for Cadillac wagons, old El Dorad's, classic 60'-70's Cadillacs, Lincoln's, Chryslers, Dodge's, Plymouth's, etc, etc. But I need a Papa bear deal and would live to tell you what a loving heart that others will praise how you have such a huge heart for not only the car but also love for people who are deserving one, would have new customers who say you have a big heart for these artwork cars and took the loving care to find the car's forever human family home, now and in the future, God Bless you Anthony. Had a gray 86 Electra Estate Wagon. Woodgrain delete. Had the chrome Buick road wheels, luggage rack w/integrated rear air deflector, hd trailer tow package. Sharp looking wagon with the gray paint & chrome. The maroon cloth interior really set it off
Hi Anthony, you are so right about saving this Buick, I hope someone brings it back 100 percent, rust free and so worth it! Hope you and papa bear are well and plan on visiting your shop this season.
Anthony, my grandfather had a 1974 Caprice Estate with the rear seat delete and the floor opened just as the floor on yours. If it had seats the floor opened left and right. So im sure thats how it came from the factory. BTW good solid wagon!
This video is awesome for its documentation even though the car is sold. I recently bought a 90 (same price and similar condition.) I also have the third row seat delete and the wire wheel covers. I was curious about the black carpet in ours and assumed it was aftermarket but I guess not. BTW, I found the RPO build code sticker in the spare tire well, there was an option to delete the rear seat.
I had a 89 mercury marquise wagon pretty much all bells and whistles but no back 3rd row seating .. and I figured it would have had it cause I did have 4 kids at the time .. but not all wagons came with .. but growing up that’s all we had were wagons .. and lived the way back seats .. on the ford country squire wagon my dad had … 67-70 each year he hit a wagon with third row seating !!!
My friends mother when I was younger had a light blue one with the wood trim and her older father had it all taken off and painted light blue all over but it was a cool car non the less.
Anthony I was just wondering if you ever come across any Oldsmobile 98 regency bromgh s? My parents bought me a brand new 1986 when I got my license. It was one of my favorite cars. And there where many. Thanks
This car could have been ordered as a removal wagon by a Funeral Home, thus no third seats. Years ago we ran Mercury wagons for removals. Now we run Dodge Minivans. The wagons were great to drive but the vans are a heck of a lot more practical. Love your older Lincolns & Cadillacs.
Anthony - I noticed this car does not have the vintage Buick 4 portholes on the front fenders. Did Buick still make the Electra wagon in 1990, or was it discontinued and the LeSabre took its place?
Anthony, that wagon was probably used for a funeral parlor It was probably used to pickup a body from the hospital morgue.... Before the undertaker prepares the body for viewing
Anthony ,wanted to share. Always cost money back then most everything was a few bucks here and there for extras. Doubt the third seat. Hope I can make time to see her the Buick. Thansk
Buick used to sell this model in two trim lines - the LeSabre (and LeSabre Estate) Wagon and the Electra Estate Wagon. They were dimensionally and mechanically identical (though the LeSabre and Electra sedans had different wheelbases). The LeSabre used the front fascia and grille from the LeSabre sedan which was less fancy than that of the Electra sedan and wagon. There were trim differences, too, like seat fabrics, door panels, and option availability like passenger power seat, etc. I think the Electra had extra brushed chrome trim on the B and C panels. I'd have to check my Buick catalogs but I think they made them all Estate Wagons around 1988, dropping the LeSabre from the wagon lineup. This is a nice one here with cornering lamps and front fender lamp monitors (what is left of the driver side monitor). Those front monitors were only available on the Buick and Oldsmobile versions of these sedans and wagons. Chevy and Pontiac did not offer them. Out of all the B-body wagons from this era, the Electra was the nicest. It offered upgraded cloth upholstery or leather. I don't think any of the other divisions (Chevy, Olds or Pontiac) offered leather in the wagons. It was rare in the sedans whereas tons of Ford Panthers came with leather.
The 1990 model they called it the Estate Wagon because they were phasing the name Electra out. For whatever reason they chose to 80-84 Electra header panel only and they had the 80-84 Electra Limited seats only and put LeSabre Custom door panels in the interior even with leather and full dual 6 way with power recliners. Some didn’t have the third row. Some caprice and Parisienne didn’t even have carpet in the rear area period.
Nice wagon. Hey if something comes along in Oregon, I might save shipping back east and back again lol if I wanted, anyway I have a long paperback read about my life and the car I should have at 65 I used to have a 06 magnum wagon but got bad deal had to get rid of now share 03 hyndi elantra, I could have got what I wanted for myself an 93 Cadillac wagon but wife would let me, just a shame for myself i born in 1957 whenin my younger years saw old couples and as should have a rral bice car in a person's old age and missed the deal for a car and cars I should have kept and stored would be worth a mint now
I believe these were available as either 6 or 9 passenger. The 6 passenger may have been a delete option, not sure. Honestly, if this were my car, I would use it just as it is. It would make a great car to take to Hershey and put in the Driver Participation Class.
Hi Anthony watch your vids all the time I have a question on the 04 Lincoln town car ultimate series what is that little like door on the back of the roof on the inside of the roof
I’ve come across a few police and fire wagons from that era without 3rd row; most were stripped Chevy versions, but none the less factory so I’m assuming that yours being close to end of that body style they were using what they had left and yours is factory too
The LeSabre wagon was a lower trim while the Electra wagon was the upper trim. For 1990 the two trim levels were combined into simply the Estate Wagon.

I believe the lower end model Lesabre estate had the cloth door panels on the inside while the higher end electra estate had the fake wood interior door panels.
Weather striping, bumper fillers, and seatbelts on doors. No wonder you didn't want to fix it up, too much to do. Junk yard material in my Buick feelings. My 85 Buick Riv was a show stopper when sold July 2021 in comparison.
Re-read your comment slowly. A car that was $2,500 20 years ago is now $3,500 more. Imagine that. Sounds like you understand my pricing and how car values increase over 2 decades.
First of all, your asking 6k for this super rough vehicle. I have never seen u list a vehicle this rough ever.... I just can't understand why you wouldn't rewrap the wood around the whole vehicle and get some of the fillers in???
First of all, it’s “you’re” or “you are”. It’s not rough if you have ever looked at a vehicle 30+ years old anywhere in the New England or salt belt. Why would Anthony put more time/ money in a car that isn’t worth much more than $6k 🤷♂️ This isn’t a 1970 Dodge Charger
Probably some buyers would like to do the work themselves and save some money. Enjoy using it while restoring it as time and finances permit. This Buick is definitely worth the effort.

These wagons & the Roadmaster Wagons are Saturated in Southampton Long island. The Wealthy bought these up & Literally used as Estate Wagons.
This is a car that deserves to survive. I hope someone buys it.
Wow!! I am in Southern California... how did I miss this Station wagon?! What a BEAUTY!!! I LOVE IT

FABULOUS MACHINE ! I convinced my brother to buy one in 93, he fell asleep in it one night a totaled it... Just too comfy for him 😂

my county 1996 and newer checks ob2for emissions 1990 probably exempted. their was roadmaster wagon after those wagons.

I probably already know the answer to this question but do you still have this old wagon?
It’s just a trim level (Electra, lesabre and estate) the top line ones had like 50 different Crome pieces and brightwork, others not so much
she's a runner! more like 150,000.
The LeSabre wagon was a lower trim while the Electra wagon was the upper trim. For 1990 the two trim levels were combined into simply the Estate Wagon.
