Well done. next time you look at the Milescraft line, check out the Milescraft 4016 BenchLock - Bench Clamp Base. I use this on my drill press table, my MFT, and my portable DeWalt work tables to hold down stuff when needed. They work with the Milescraft quick clamps and with a small bit of tweeking, the Kregg quick clamps as well. And for $10, they are a great way to use have a hold down clamp that fits 20mm and 3/4" (19mm) holes.

I’ve had the miles track saw for quite a few months and it works perfect. It’s very accurate. I did not experience the problems that you came up with, but I’m not using the full 55 inches just to cut out cabinet boxes and cut down. Plywood works perfect great video

I like Milescraft. I purchased the 6" and the 12" square after watching your video - Unearthing 5 Extraordinary Tools You Never Knew Existed - I also have their doweling jig kit (not in this video) and the Sand Plane. I am happy with all the Milescraft products I have purchased. Good video.

I actually purchased the track guide back in February and I have used it a number of times and it did a great job. When I put it together, I didn't have the issue that you did where the screws holding the joint together marked the top and I know that I tightened the screws a little too much.

Milescraft products are almost always a good bang-for-the-buck option. That said, I think it was a mistake using T20 instead of SQ2 bits for the pocket hole jig. Proprietary screws are fine until you run out on a project. The bits need to match the screws available at the big box stores when more are needed quickly.
100% agree with you ST-0311. I will probably toss those out or throw them into a hardware drawer and move right back to the robertson bits. Thanks so much for watching!
I recently bought the pocket hole jig kit, and it came with the 100 jig (single hole) as well as the 200, and one of the clamps! I think it was something like $37. Heck of a deal. I really liked the Milescraft dowel kit too. It was nice hearing that you liked it better than than the kreg.( I also have the track saw guide on order)

You said it! GREAT VIDEO! I’ve got the Kreg R3 jr portable pocket hole jig in my Amazon cart for when I need it, but the Milescraft looks like a better option for a hobbyist on a tight budget. Every dollar counts! I’ll definitely be keeping this in mind when I get to a project that I can’t use the K5 on.

I would take exception with the criticism of the saw not being fully supported by the track for cut lengths longer than 49". I don't consider it excessively dangerous. How much of a circular saw is supported at the beginning of a cut when used without the track system? An 1 1/2"? At least being partially supported and engaged with the track keeps you aligned with the kerf to minimize the chance of kickback. In that light, I would suggest the track is still more safe. The drag felt while pushing the saw down the track can be lessened by waxing the saw base and the track with a paste type car wax. I value your opinion and thanks for reviewing these tools at your own expense!
Thanks so much for sharing TheDadx3! I think what I ran into was when I was trying to start the saw guide off the end of the track I had it catch the wood before it was fully up to speed and it got some kick back. That was my only concern. Really all of that would be fixed with a circular saw (affordable) that had some plung capability. Someone needs to invent one if they haven't already!

Not a fan of Milescraft but I do have and like the sanding blocks. When you start out, having a cheaper alternative is awesome. As you get deeper into your hobby/passion, you start to appreciate and understand the old "buy once cry once" axiom. But any barrier to entry into woodworking/DIY is a good thing in my book. Just commenting to appease the algo overlords!

The Rockler drill guide does do self-centering, there's two pins that store in the top on either side of the drill attachment point that you can screw in to the base and have that centering. Yours appear to be missing.

Morning. I have a couple of Milescraft tools that you demonstrated and am happy with of them. But, I was not impressed with the dowel drilling jig. I don't need the time savings advantages of the Domino, so I have the Jessem jig. It can be complicated and fussy to adjust. I bought the Milescraft to compare. It adjusts easily, but would flex with use. This issue renders it utterly useless. After a month of mis-aligned dowels, I donated it to the local thrift store. Thank you for another info-taining video.
Oh great point RichPeggyFranks. That's one of the main problems I could see with Milescraft. I think they make most of their tools with a lot of plastic components (probably what makes them more affordable). Any flex with something like that would be no bueno! 18:52 if you make a dedicated bit for drilling shelf pin holes, use a dremel to flatten the spot where the stop’s set screw impacts. Even better are the stop collars with dual set screws like dowelmax has.

Excellent video! I wish this was published when I got my Kreg stuff. I have the Accu-cut system, the small pocket hole jig 320, and the shelf-pin jig. The pin jig works pretty well, but yeah, the stop collar loves to move unless you reef on the screw. The pocket hole jig works well, but I didn't get the system because I wanted the flexibility of the individual jigs the 320 has. Out of all of them I think the Accu-cut has been the biggest heartbreaker. No matter what I do, my cuts always seem to slope away from my cut line, forcing me to either re cut, or sand the 8th inch left behind. Perhaps I calibrated it wrong, but I've tested it, and it seems ok. I even started to blame the Diablo 40-tooth blade I was using, thinking it could have possibly been blade flex. I'm really digging the fact that Milescraft also seems to include a lot of things Kreg just doesn't. I had to buy the clamps separately, and at $20 for a set of 2 fairly flimsy plastic clamps they're way more expensive than they should be. I would have bought cheaper clamps, but none of them seemed to work with the Accu-cut rails.
I totally agree with you on the Accu-cut. I bought that years ago before I ever got a track saw, and I could NEVER get it to work right. It's been sitting on the bottom shelf of one of one of my drawers for well over 5 years now. Of the 4 the pockethole jig is the most interesting to me. I don't work on sheet goods, the drill press has to much wobble for my liking, and I am not at the moment building cabinets. Very entertaining video tho.

@@josephconsuegra6420 I've got the Dowling jig, it's okay if you're careful but I think the sliding side stop should be deeper so it makes more contact with the surface of the wood. It's prone to tilting and there's not much room for clamping. I may make one out of some scrap metal I've got that would work better.
The Milescraft drill guide chuck has tons of run-out and the plunge mechanism has way more slop than Rockler. Might be good enough for rough carpentry.
I love the TrackSawGuide, I have used it to cut insulating foam to do my barn with, and now I am using it with a Ryobi battery circ saw to cut sheet goods in the parking lot of Lowe's, since I don't have a truck. I really wish someone would make a square adapter and/or parallel adapter for this track.

I LOVE Milescraft stuff. Everything I have bought from them has been well-made, well-designed with lots of great features, and it is all affordable. If they release something that is similar to another companies products, they always seem to improve upon the design of the original and fix the annoying things that needed to be fixed in the other companies tools. If I had a choice of products to choose from, and I see that one is a Mlescraft, that is the first one I look at. It may not always be the one I buy, but you can't go wrong with them. The only thing I found I don't like is their center finder jig, but I just don't like that style of tool, not their design. I bought their drill guide even though it has a 3/8" chuck. They should have put a 1/2" chuck on that tool.
Awesome! I'm on the same boat as you Sculptormills! Really been pleased with almost everything I've gotten from them. I think so far my absolute favorite I've got from them are the push blocks. There really is no reason to spend the extra money on Microjig for those. Thanks so much for sharing and watching, really appreciate it!
I recently got the track, and it was pretty fantastic to be able to make strait cuts. I'm just not very good at keeping my saw strait, I always end up with wavy edges. It's a bit fiddly though to set up, with the clamps on the plate and the screws to hold the track segments together. And even at half the normal length, the 27.5" tracks are still too big to put away in any kind of reasonable tool box. I'm not sure what I want to do long-term to store them. For now they are back in the original box. I also bought the extra track because I needed to rip some very long boards, and I found that with all the packing materials discarded I can fit all four track segments into the box that the main kit came in. But I'm a little worried about the tracks sliding and bumping around and get dinged/bent.

Those must be old micro jig push blocks, mine look different and are angled like your milescraft, love em..I dont own any milescraft stuff, but looks decent . personally I wouldn't play with any of that circular saw track stuff, they just don't get it like a track saw, but you can get the Wen corded track saw with 110" track and clamps for 200 out the door, I got it just to see lol, and really its fine, haven't hated on it yet..do want that drillmate though , there are times when i wish i had one... pretty cool, thought I subbed ya, guess not but am now lol...have a great day...
Great points Ravenheart! I got my microjig blocks about 5-6 years ago. I may have gotten an older model at the time. Really like the milescraft ones quite a bit better. For the the sticky track just put some carnuba car wax on the track and the guide and it'll probably move a lot better. I use that on my cheap table saw since Johnson paste wax is no longer available and our only hardware store doesn't stock any other brands. And the wax hasn't caused any issue with staining wood run across it since it doesn't appear to transfer. I've got the milescraft door hinge and striker plate jig. It works decent enough except the spacer for hinges loves to fall out so a piece of painters tape is needed to keep it in place while routing out the hinge slot. I went with the dewalt door knob hole kit since it was close enough to the same price and was a better design for clamping to the door, no tools or screwing to the door to hold in place.

I always enjoy your videos, informative and entertaining. If you were playing around with adding a background soundtrack and want some feedback, it was a distraction and slightly annoying.
Just a heads up, when I watch your latest videos or shorts, it seems the audio is lower than the other videos I just clicked from. I know personally I have to adjust the audio on my videos because the default doesn't use full volume with the software I use. Anyways, keep it up!

I might just be outside of polite, but did you use some paste wax on that track saw upper & lower surfaces before you did your conns ? Ok,now on the drill guide … both the both the Milescraft and the Rocker they have four mounting holes so you can screw ‘em to your workbench. I would not recommend that but I would screw it to a board large enough to stabilize it or clamp it to whatever . 😊
Great idea on the paste wax for the track saw. Someone else mentioned that as well! I agree with you on the the mounting of the units. I have the drill press guide and really don't use it. Changing the angle is a hassle and when attempting to drill the angle the drill has a tendency to wonder. It's not my drill bits, I use DeWalt brad point bits. The other issue I have with the device is the plunging action. It's not smooth. I've dry lubed it and it still hangs occasionally. Last but not least the adapter to the drill should be a standard 1/4 not the odd ball size that requires you to either chuck it up or use an adapter. Other than that it kinda does the job. I went out and purchsed a low cost Wen drill press.
I think you made the exact right decision on going with that Wen Drill press. Excellent move. I've heard a lot of good things about those and those will definitely not wobble. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and watching Francischarboneau!
Great video. I have the portable drill press and the feather boards (that you pictured but didn't discuss). With the drill press, I don't have any problem with chatter, but I do have a problem with racking. When plunging the drill it often binds up due to the racking. This makes it annoying to use. The build quality is also quite poor. The feather boards have a significant design flaw. When they're at or near the maximum distance from the mitre slot, the bolts don't spread the mitre slides sufficiently to hold them in place. I only used them a few times before replacing them with Bow feather boards. Bow may be 2-3 x the price, but the Milescraft ones are almost worthless in my opinion.
I would agree with you on those milescraft featherboards. They are definitely not their best product. I prefer bow as well. I actually did a video on just featherboards and I tested a few of them (maybe 5) and the milescraft were one of the easiest to move when tightened down if I remember correclty. I recently got the track saw guide, and it’s a great tool for its price. Not something i will use all the time,so I can’t justify buying an actual track saw,seems silly considering I have two circular saws anyway. I wish you had of shown the bushings, they are a bit fiddly to install, but they don’t affect the sliding of the saw at all, and they totally remove the slop from the slider.

Great question. I have not used the Wen Track Saw, I only have some Wen Track. I was quite impressed with the Wen track however as it works seemlessly with my festool track saw. I would definitely recommend going for the track saw vs trying to piece together a circular saw to this milescraft attachemnt if you can afford it. Just my take! Anytime you connect two tracks, you should leave a little space between the rails, then align them with a straightedge. The ends of the rails may not be perfect. Aligning it this way guarantees that the rails are straight. That Miles craft runout is terrible. The problem isn't "chatter", it's the size of the hole. If there is runout in the chuck, the holes will never be the right size. A good drill press should have a chuck runout of no more than a thousandth or two. Obviously, one wouldn't expect this sort of accuracy on one of these jigs, but it is important. A Milescraft pocket hole jig with a Kreg clamp? Really? 😁

And there's the man, effing Burt. Not to nitpick, but we think that the one "handle" on the Rockler is actually a knob, probably meant for adjusting the angle of the drill. And now the Festool drill prominently displayed, that was good for a set of a hundred.

i’ve come to be frustrated with every Milescraft door tool I’ve owned..to the point where I gave a couple to a neighbor who used them once and threw them in the garbage. Good concepts but there’s always at least one major design flaw that makes me think nobody at Milescraft has actually used their tools for real work. Their hinge mortising kit is only good for making a full-door jig, and the Lock Mate Plus is complete garbage. If you need repeatable, fast, and precise door tools, make your own.
Great advice erock801. Nothing works better than a homade jig. I feel like a lot of there stuff is made for beginners who maybe don't know how to make stuff. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the design of drill guides to begin with. I think the rockler is more steady, but for the price the milescraft is a better option if you absolutely need one. I'll admit, I've only used my rockler guide probably twice on a real project. Most of the time it sits in a drawer and collects dust. Thanks for watching nissimhadar!

The Milescraft drill guide is extremely problematic. There is way too much play in the guides which allows for significant drift when drilling, even if the unit is secured to the surface. Also, the spring prevents the drill from going all the way down.

Well done. next time you look at the Milescraft line, check out the Milescraft 4016 BenchLock - Bench Clamp Base. I use this on my drill press table, my MFT, and my portable DeWalt work tables to hold down stuff when needed. They work with the Milescraft quick clamps and with a small bit of tweeking, the Kregg quick clamps as well. And for $10, they are a great way to use have a hold down clamp that fits 20mm and 3/4" (19mm) holes.

I’ve had the miles track saw for quite a few months and it works perfect. It’s very accurate. I did not experience the problems that you came up with, but I’m not using the full 55 inches just to cut out cabinet boxes and cut down. Plywood works perfect great video

I actually purchased the track guide back in February and I have used it a number of times and it did a great job. When I put it together, I didn't have the issue that you did where the screws holding the joint together marked the top and I know that I tightened the screws a little too much.

Milescraft products are almost always a good bang-for-the-buck option. That said, I think it was a mistake using T20 instead of SQ2 bits for the pocket hole jig. Proprietary screws are fine until you run out on a project. The bits need to match the screws available at the big box stores when more are needed quickly.
100% agree with you ST-0311. I will probably toss those out or throw them into a hardware drawer and move right back to the robertson bits. Thanks so much for watching!
I recently bought the pocket hole jig kit, and it came with the 100 jig (single hole) as well as the 200, and one of the clamps! I think it was something like $37. Heck of a deal. I really liked the Milescraft dowel kit too. It was nice hearing that you liked it better than than the kreg.( I also have the track saw guide on order)

You said it! GREAT VIDEO! I’ve got the Kreg R3 jr portable pocket hole jig in my Amazon cart for when I need it, but the Milescraft looks like a better option for a hobbyist on a tight budget. Every dollar counts! I’ll definitely be keeping this in mind when I get to a project that I can’t use the K5 on.

I would take exception with the criticism of the saw not being fully supported by the track for cut lengths longer than 49". I don't consider it excessively dangerous. How much of a circular saw is supported at the beginning of a cut when used without the track system? An 1 1/2"? At least being partially supported and engaged with the track keeps you aligned with the kerf to minimize the chance of kickback. In that light, I would suggest the track is still more safe.
The drag felt while pushing the saw down the track can be lessened by waxing the saw base and the track with a paste type car wax.
I value your opinion and thanks for reviewing these tools at your own expense!

I think what I ran into was when I was trying to start the saw guide off the end of the track I had it catch the wood before it was fully up to speed and it got some kick back. That was my only concern. Really all of that would be fixed with a circular saw (affordable) that had some plung capability. Someone needs to invent one if they haven't already!

Not a fan of Milescraft but I do have and like the sanding blocks. When you start out, having a cheaper alternative is awesome. As you get deeper into your hobby/passion, you start to appreciate and understand the old "buy once cry once" axiom. But any barrier to entry into woodworking/DIY is a good thing in my book. Just commenting to appease the algo overlords!

The Rockler drill guide does do self-centering, there's two pins that store in the top on either side of the drill attachment point that you can screw in to the base and have that centering. Yours appear to be missing.

Morning. I have a couple of Milescraft tools that you demonstrated and am happy with of them. But, I was not impressed with the dowel drilling jig. I don't need the time savings advantages of the Domino, so I have the Jessem jig. It can be complicated and fussy to adjust. I bought the Milescraft to compare. It adjusts easily, but would flex with use. This issue renders it utterly useless. After a month of mis-aligned dowels, I donated it to the local thrift store. Thank you for another info-taining video.
Oh great point RichPeggyFranks. That's one of the main problems I could see with Milescraft. I think they make most of their tools with a lot of plastic components (probably what makes them more affordable). Any flex with something like that would be no bueno! 18:52 if you make a dedicated bit for drilling shelf pin holes, use a dremel to flatten the spot where the stop’s set screw impacts. Even better are the stop collars with dual set screws like dowelmax has.

Excellent video! I wish this was published when I got my Kreg stuff. I have the Accu-cut system, the small pocket hole jig 320, and the shelf-pin jig. The pin jig works pretty well, but yeah, the stop collar loves to move unless you reef on the screw. The pocket hole jig works well, but I didn't get the system because I wanted the flexibility of the individual jigs the 320 has. Out of all of them I think the Accu-cut has been the biggest heartbreaker. No matter what I do, my cuts always seem to slope away from my cut line, forcing me to either re cut, or sand the 8th inch left behind.
Perhaps I calibrated it wrong, but I've tested it, and it seems ok. I even started to blame the Diablo 40-tooth blade I was using, thinking it could have possibly been blade flex. I'm really digging the fact that Milescraft also seems to include a lot of things Kreg just doesn't. I had to buy the clamps separately, and at $20 for a set of 2 fairly flimsy plastic clamps they're way more expensive than they should be. I would have bought cheaper clamps, but none of them seemed to work with the Accu-cut rails.
I totally agree with you on the Accu-cut. I bought that years ago before I ever got a track saw, and I could NEVER get it to work right. It's been sitting on the bottom shelf of one of one of my drawers for well over 5 years now. @@josephconsuegra6420 I've got the Dowling jig, it's okay if you're careful but I think the sliding side stop should be deeper so it makes more contact with the surface of the wood. It's prone to tilting and there's not much room for clamping. I may make one out of some scrap metal I've got that would work better.

The Milescraft drill guide chuck has tons of run-out and the plunge mechanism has way more slop than Rockler. Might be good enough for rough carpentry.

I love the TrackSawGuide, I have used it to cut insulating foam to do my barn with, and now I am using it with a Ryobi battery circ saw to cut sheet goods in the parking lot of Lowe's, since I don't have a truck. I really wish someone would make a square adapter and/or parallel adapter for this track.

I LOVE Milescraft stuff. Everything I have bought from them has been well-made, well-designed with lots of great features, and it is all affordable. If they release something that is similar to another companies products, they always seem to improve upon the design of the original and fix the annoying things that needed to be fixed in the other companies tools. If I had a choice of products to choose from, and I see that one is a Mlescraft, that is the first one I look at. It may not always be the one I buy, but you can't go wrong with them. The only thing I found I don't like is their center finder jig, but I just don't like that style of tool, not their design. I bought their drill guide even though it has a 3/8" chuck. They should have put a 1/2" chuck on that tool.
Awesome! I'm on the same boat as you Sculptormills! Really been pleased with almost everything I've gotten from them. I think so far my absolute favorite I've got from them are the push blocks. I recently got the track, and it was pretty fantastic to be able to make strait cuts. I'm just not very good at keeping my saw strait, I always end up with wavy edges. It's a bit fiddly though to set up, with the clamps on the plate and the screws to hold the track segments together. And even at half the normal length, the 27.5" tracks are still too big to put away in any kind of reasonable tool box. I'm not sure what I want to do long-term to store them. For now they are back in the original box. I also bought the extra track because I needed to rip some very long boards, and I found that with all the packing materials discarded I can fit all four track segments into the box that the main kit came in. But I'm a little worried about the tracks sliding and bumping around and get dinged/bent.

Those must be old micro jig push blocks, mine look different and are angled like your milescraft, love em..I dont own any milescraft stuff, but looks decent . personally I wouldn't play with any of that circular saw track stuff, they just don't get it like a track saw, but you can get the Wen corded track saw with 110" track and clamps for 200 out the door, I got it just to see lol, and really its fine, haven't hated on it yet..do want that drillmate though , there are times when i wish i had one... pretty cool, thought I subbed ya, guess not but am now lol...have a great day...

For the the sticky track just put some carnuba car wax on the track and the guide and it'll probably move a lot better. I use that on my cheap table saw since Johnson paste wax is no longer available and our only hardware store doesn't stock any other brands. And the wax hasn't caused any issue with staining wood run across it since it doesn't appear to transfer.
I've got the milescraft door hinge and striker plate jig. It works decent enough except the spacer for hinges loves to fall out so a piece of painters tape is needed to keep it in place while routing out the hinge slot. I went with the dewalt door knob hole kit since it was close enough to the same price and was a better design for clamping to the door, no tools or screwing to the door to hold in place.

Minwax makes a paste wax similar to the old SC Johnsons. Found it at Lowe's for $15 for a 16oz tub.

I might just be outside of polite, but did you use some paste wax on that track saw upper & lower surfaces before you did your conns ? Ok,now on the drill guide … both the both the Milescraft and the Rocker they have four mounting holes so you can screw ‘em to your workbench. I would not recommend that but I would screw it to a board large enough to stabilize it or clamp it to whatever . 😊

I have the drill press guide and really don't use it. Changing the angle is a hassle and when attempting to drill the angle the drill has a tendency to wonder. It's not my drill bits, I use DeWalt brad point bits. The other issue I have with the device is the plunging action. It's not smooth. I've dry lubed it and it still hangs occasionally. Last but not least the adapter to the drill should be a standard 1/4 not the odd ball size that requires you to either chuck it up or use an adapter. Other than that it kinda does the job. I went out and purchsed a low cost Wen drill press.
I think you made the exact right decision on going with that Wen Drill press. Excellent move. I've heard a lot of good things about those and those will definitely not wobble. Thanks so much for sharing your experience and watching Francischarboneau!
Great video. I have the portable drill press and the feather boards (that you pictured but didn't discuss). With the drill press, I don't have any problem with chatter, but I do have a problem with racking. When plunging the drill it often binds up due to the racking. This makes it annoying to use. The build quality is also quite poor. The feather boards have a significant design flaw. When they're at or near the maximum distance from the mitre slot, the bolts don't spread the mitre slides sufficiently to hold them in place. I only used them a few times before replacing them with Bow feather boards. Bow may be 2-3 x the price, but the Milescraft ones are almost worthless in my opinion.
I would agree with you on those milescraft featherboards. They are definitely not their best product. I prefer bow as well. I actually did a video on just featherboards and I tested a few of them (maybe 5) and the milescraft were one of the easiest to move when tightened down if I remember correclty. I recently got the track saw guide, and it’s a great tool for its price. Not something i will use all the time,so I can’t justify buying an actual track saw,seems silly considering I have two circular saws anyway.
I wish you had of shown the bushings, they are a bit fiddly to install, but they don’t affect the sliding of the saw at all, and they totally remove the slop from the slider.

What is your take on Wen vs Miles on the track saw?
Great question. I have not used the Wen Track Saw, I only have some Wen Track. I was quite impressed with the Wen track however as it works seemlessly with my festool track saw. I would definitely recommend going for the track saw vs trying to piece together a circular saw to this milescraft attachemnt if you can afford it. Just my take! Anytime you connect two tracks, you should leave a little space between the rails, then align them with a straightedge. The ends of the rails may not be perfect. Aligning it this way guarantees that the rails are straight.
That Miles craft runout is terrible. The problem isn't "chatter", it's the size of the hole. If there is runout in the chuck, the holes will never be the right size. A good drill press should have a chuck runout of no more than a thousandth or two. Obviously, one wouldn't expect this sort of accuracy on one of these jigs, but it is important.

Dogg man, how can you make a profit when you're buying everything. Milescraft needs to sponsor you; you've got the whole product line. Ah, Festool, we're doing push-ups. And there's the man, effing Burt. Not to nitpick, but we think that the one "handle" on the Rockler is actually a knob, probably meant for adjusting the angle of the drill. And now the Festool drill prominently displayed, that was good for a set of a hundred.

:). That square is such a good deal. Hard to believe! I use that edge sander all the time, Really like it. It eats up sand paper pretty quickly but it's an easy fix just by rotating the sandpaper. Thanks again for watching!

i’ve come to be frustrated with every Milescraft door tool I’ve owned..to the point where I gave a couple to a neighbor who used them once and threw them in the garbage. Good concepts but there’s always at least one major design flaw that makes me think nobody at Milescraft has actually used their tools for real work. Their hinge mortising kit is only good for making a full-door jig, and the Lock Mate Plus is complete garbage. If you need repeatable, fast, and precise door tools, make your own.
Great advice erock801. Nothing works better than a homade jig. I feel like a lot of there stuff is made for beginners who maybe don't know how to make stuff. But it may frustrate them with issues like the ones you spoke of, thinking it is their mistake and the tools. Thanks so much for watching. Really appreciate it!

I have one - it is pretty useless.
A simple jig is probably better.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the design of drill guides to begin with. I think the rockler is more steady, but for the price the milescraft is a better option if you absolutely need one. I'll admit, I've only used my rockler guide probably twice on a real project. Most of the time it sits in a drawer and collects dust. Thanks for watching nissimhadar!

The Milescraft drill guide is extremely problematic. There is way too much play in the guides which allows for significant drift when drilling, even if the unit is secured to the surface. Also, the spring prevents the drill from going all the way down.

Another great video. I figured out a hack for the drill guide a while back (I spent the money on the Rockler too). It’s not perfect but it helped out with larger flat projects
