About 2008 and 2009 shots: Back then I heard acussations that Kimi by going off the track at La Source took an unfair advantage which helped him to pass a driver in front of him. It was used as a counterarguement to Hamilton's penalty in 2008. Well, these onboard shots show that was definitely not the case. Kimi was just braver and much faster through Eau Rouge.

These discussions were about the start and Kimi did gain an advantage by leaving the track at the exit of Turn 1 at the start but that's part of F1. He took an advantage by exploiting a grey area.

@@FS-bx6hp Not to mention Trulli locked up in 2009, and Kimi had to avoid it!

Not only did his early throttle input made him so quick, but he also used his intelligence and temperament to make his moves. Even when he was young, he just didn’t fear anyone or anything.
The drivers he finished behind in every season from 2002-2006 just, clinically, had faster and more reliable machinery.

Mostly correct, he was weaker than david in 02 (which was fair as david was a longstanding member of the team and kimi was in his 1st yr at the team and 2nd ever in F1)

I am convinced that he would've won this race even in 2003 and 2006, if it was held.

Wasn't there a race or qualifying, where some car's engine blew up somewhere after Eau Rouge, blocking the view ahead with a thick white cloud and Kimi just barreled through the fog at full throttle?
Kimi was one of F1's finest drivers and cut from a material we don't see much today.

Yes, he couldn't see anything but didn't even lift and went 10/10 through the smoke 😂
