I own an Exter AMT SXO Variant. I went for a long drive from Chennai to Trichy and Trichy to Kerala with family 3 adults and 2 children with fully loaded Boot space. From Chennai to Trichy I got a mileage of 22KMPL for 320. turned on Cruise control between 80 to 90. I got Really surprised. turned off AC then and there when not required. But from Trichy to Kerala I got MAX of 18KMPL because of rough roads and too many road diversions with AC ON. In city based on Chennai Traffic getting 12 to 14 KMPL mileage and also, there is no Suspension issue with fully loaded boot and my family members or I didn't feel any leg pain or discomfort on travel. Any New 1st time car buyers blindly go for EXTER.
I am using Exter SX manual. Overall very good comfort. Very smooth to drive. Mileage getting around 15-17 in highways. I expected around 17-19. Steering calibration need improvement. Suspension feel good in city but loosing confidence around 120kmph.

Hi Birlas team, I own the exter SX variant user experience that you have posted is quite matching. But the mileage is not that much accurate. In my driving condition if I cruise at speed of 80-100 in highway I'm getting mileage of 18-20 kmpl and inside city like banglore, Chennai, Coimbatore traffic I'm getting a mileage of 14-16 kmpl it's quite economical. So average in highway + city (70+30) I can get upto 16-18 kmpl as average. In addition to that if you use cruise control in highways for 80-100 km speed you can get a suprising mileage of 22-25 kmpl.
I have exter amt , I hope you have not tried with padel shfiter, just try when ever you feel your missing manual gear it will give super ride experience, recently I went sabarimala I do up shift and down shift with padel shfiter. Sorry this my driving experience, I saw mostly your reviews so acute , I try once I am sure you will take back your words . ❤
I was waiting for this car to launched. After I came back to India I tested it. My only concern was, when we three people sitting back side, suspension shrunk fully. If that wouldn't happen I would definitely buy this car.

He is correct.. Real mileage means calculating mileage on tank to tank method ( not the mileage shown in dash board). Worst case driving means going in maximum speed aggressive driving and heavy traffic with AC on always . This the mileage in worst driving situation . For more mileage use throttle lightly , AC off, less change of gears , more highway driving etc.
I think both honda 1.2 ivtech in jazz, k12 engine in baleno yeilds atleast 3 to 4 kmpl more than hyundai 1.2 kappa engine. Both honda , suzuki engines are equally refined, as reliable as hyundais and has better fuel efficiency and performance as well. Except extra features in hyundia which is its selling point honda , maruti are better not sure why people choose hyundai. I think the mileage shown in this video for 1.2 Kappa. 1.5 ivtech in Honda can easily match it 😂
Better if the give double barrel headlight. Most of the manufactures are in cost cutting mode. We need better light for sure as our roads are not consistent and most of the places lane marking not available. Parking on the highway is illegal but not implemented properly.
Hyundai in general are rich and market leaders in interiors and festures but lack steeeing control and stability, exter rear seat doesnt give a feel of small suv as they claim , feels like a hatchback only , seats are comfort but doesnt remain while we riding

Hyundai AMT is good. Birla is comparing with manual while over taking other vehicles. NIOS is totally city car. This one is better than nios and you can use it in highways with less than 100 km speed.

Mileage worst in these scenarios even with three people.. majority highway....not recommended for mileage oriented people... Best to take i10 nios . If want extra 10mm GC take exter. If pushed to some extra bucks.. premium i20 on the way... No other options for Hyundai....
both i10 nios and exter are exactly the same cars in fact, the interior, so also the same and there is no difference. I bought it two days back and feel very bad and think I made a wrong decision. I took it for a long drive from Chennai to Salem, and I had a severe back pain complete. A waste of money should have gone to a different car.

Choose AMT over manual in exter. I own i10 nios. In city traffic you'll appreciate the automatic.
