- The main race from Sunday July 15, 2018. This is the Group 1 race which consisted of Pre-War, Preservation & Production Under 1 Litre cars.
We took on the competition in our race prepped 1959 Austin Healey "Bugeye" Sprite. Some mechanical issues on Saturday meant that company founder Adolfo Massari qualified lower on the grid than he wanted to and a heavy full course caution during the race meant minimal time to make up spots. However, Adolfo managed to gain a couple positions throughout the race and bring the car home in one piece, the true win for any vintage racing event.
For anyone who has never experienced the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, it is an awesome event and one of the last races run on a true street course in America. The car club turnout is always spectacular and there is just about every make and model in attendance. If you have never been and have the means to make it next year, we highly recommend it.

Awesome. Wish we had something like this in Philadelphia, in Fairmount Park (like the historic car race through Fairmount Park). LBI, please help bring it back (and let me know of any help you need)!
We would love for the Fairmount Historic Races to be brought back! Maybe we'll have to look into trying to get them started back up. That would be an awesome event!
