Kuina is really gone. They showed her body in the anime and manga. It's just that a lot of fans can't take her death seriously because it's kinda silly and it might have disturbed new fans' immersion watching this series
I genuinely mean this, when I say y’all’s reactions to the one piece live action has been my favorite.
Thank you! 🥰 We really love the show!
People can become quite powerful in this world. The only two devil fruits you've seen so far are Luffy's and Buggy's. Kuro, Mihawk, and Garp do not have devil fruit abilities, and earned their skilled through training alone.
Up
hopefully they go into more detail in season 2 about how people get their powers!
It's really easy actually, when people have devil fruit power, usually the show would just tell you, like Luffy, and Buggy does in the previous episode
@@demontrash If they have a devil fruit power the show will tell you, otherwise superhuman strength and feats are not uncommon in One Piece its a world where u can get absurdly strong through just training. You can make 525416543 theories as to why people can just lift, practice, be determined and become Saitama in this world but its usually just go with the flow in the manga/anime where there is more time to explain and author is well known for almost never forgetting a plot point, they just arnt always explained right away sometimes because he likes alot of *show dont tell* or 500 episodes later tell for a orgasmic callback and pay off. Amazingly for being 1080 episodes long and running for 26 years straight there is less then a handful of plot holes people can argue there is.
I said this the first episode they reacted to. Obviously they didn’t see it, or care. Either or😂
Zoro: Best Swordsman in the East Blue.
Mihawk: Best Swordsman in the world.
And apparently the East blue is the least dangerous of all four seas.
22:14 Sanji's played by Taz Skylar. He's from the Canary Islands in Spain but his mum's from England and I think his dad is Lebanese, so he speaks English and Spanish fluently. He took up kickboxing and cooking just for this role, and a few years ago he starred in a fairly successful play called Warheads - which he wrote as well - that I think was nominated for an Olivier award.
So he’s just super badass
@@30daysnosleep Occasionally there are some people who are super baddass's
Rubber can be cut, so Luffy is not immune to blades
Oh ok
30:14 He said himself - duel to the death. He won't prove himself a coward by running away, he won't go back on his word by retreating, calling a draw or asking for mercy. He set the terms and he will follow them.
And that's why Mihawk is interested. He can see Zoro's potential to become truly great. He sees Zoro's sense of honour and his determination. That's why he didn't cut his head off or actually kill him. As someone else put it, he just dumped him at death's door, said 'the rest is up to you' and left him there. I guess he's also testing him to see if he's strong enough and determined enough to pull through and to fight his injuries.
That's what you call Standing on Business
@@SilentSc0per yup 😂🫡
I'm surprised the only person I saw adding Garp to the daddy list was my mom
not peepaw 🫣😂
"Do they not kill people in this show."
The crew's very Ivan Drago about it. They're not going out of their way to merc anyone, but if he dies he dies.
And yes 10:33 she did actually accidentally fell on her sword from down the stairs when she was about to clean it for another one of their duel. Accidents happen
I like the theory that this was an euphemism for suicide by her father, she did suffer a lot of frustration for not being allowed to inherit the dojo (wich is a conflict they didn't care to explore too much in the live action)
@@PVMAS07 yeah its not explored further in the live Action. Who knows maybe because they left it so open ended she may show up in season 2 *wink*
@@PVMAS07unlikely. In the anime we saw her double down training the next day, including beating one of the adult men in the dojo. That… doesn’t seem like the actions of somebody about to kill themselves when depressed for not being able to beat a man.
@@PVMAS07They probably didn't mention that specifically to avoid this fan theory.
There's basically no chance she killed herself... They JUST made a promise that one of them would become the best... so she goes and kills herself? What? Also unless I'm missing something, she just went to retrieve a whetstone to sharpen her sword, how do we know she carried a sword up or down the stairs and unsheathed to fall on it? It seems to me like all indications point to falling down the stairs and accidentally hitting her head. Not a fan of this theory personally.
I believe that canonically Kuina fell down some stairs and died?? Which is kind of crazy
Yes. but there are two ways to interpret it. One she committed suicide as I believe falling down stairs is used as a euphemism for suicide in Japan. Or two Oda was trying to show that despite having a vow/goal the chaos that is life can prevent one from attaining said vow/goal due to freak accidents.
@@TheGamefreak612 The euphemism part is wrong. This in an invention of western One Piece fans.
@@f.carasind4188 ahh thats what I had read for so long. Good to know
#justiceforkuina
Her death was so mundane and that was the point. Like anyone you know can suddenly die at any point and their goes their chances to pursue their own dreams. In this episode Zoro did not give up he just realized he could not win at this point so he look the loss.
The live action didn't do a very good job explaining how rare the devil fruits are, that a lot of people coming in from the live action are unaware how rare they are. In the live action shank's "it's worth more than anything we have" was so quick it was easy to miss.
I don't recall the whole lore, but they are very very rare, and slight but important spoilers is that there is only 1 of each kind, and if someone has eaten 1 of the fruits, another of that fruit won't regrow until the devil fruits user perishes. It's been a while so I might have got that wrong but that's kind of important to understanding not everyone has devil fruits powers or that the devil fruits are easy to find for people to just get powers.
You guys have my favorite reactions to everything about the one piece world. It's like seeing two resonating glasses ring at the same frequency 😂. I wasn't aware you were sick Papa Trash, but glad you are feeling better. 🎉
23:17 We saw Mihawk in episode 1 - he was in the crowd when Gold Roger was executed. Late teens/maybe early 20s, beardless, perfectly coifed hair, flawless sideburns, fancy looking jacket with a rose embroider on it?
Baratie is more like sailor diner, both pirate and marine can go there and eat
My lesbianism leaving the chat whenever Mihawk shows up-and then immediately returning when Nami shows up-😂
Kaya: I’m stronger than you think
Papa Trash: No you’re not
Poor Kaya didn’t deserve that 😂
Nami;I don't know how many naval battles you guys have been a part of-
Usop; two dozen at least. Me: Liar. trash daddy, immediately after;he's such a liar 😂 i love him
He’s so delulu. We love it. 😂
Kuro hasn't eaten a Devil Fruit, he's just super fast. If a character has eaten one they'll explicitly say so.
Kuina went to go sharpen her sword during the night and fell down the stairs. They showed her body/casket in the other mediums.
Zoro asking for that fight with her real sword might've been the direct cause of her death. No matter how strong you are death just happens (i think that was the point? Idk Kuina's actor made a meme about the stairs). Angst for Zoro!
P.S. I mean the question was only answered in a Q&A so like... Kuina and Zoro are cousins. Zoro's also an orphan wow look at that this crew really is the dead parents club.
Like super distant cousins though. Fourth or fifth generation. Nobody would blink if they ended up together. Well, they would now she’s a corpse.
Kuina’s death is tragic and written to poignantly illustrate the abruptness of death.
She fell down the stairs when going to get a whetstone in her basement. So she most likely had her sword on her and it might have also contributed to her death. It’s made more tragic when you think about how she had just resolved herself and she was getting the whetstone because she had just dueled Zoro.
I think they made it ambiguous in the live action to add more intrigue for a character that shows up later. Who knows. They might actually change it for the live action too. But also “falling down the stairs” for a western audience can be an euphemism for being beaten by your family. I’m sure they wanted to do avoid that.
mary mary had a little lamb lol
Cant wait for the next ones!!
Luffy is rubber, the bullets are balls and not sharp so they dont cut him, but he can get cut.
Zoro didn't give up, he had already lost and he knew it. He was the one who asked for a duel to the death and for him that was the most honorable way to die, without running away.
In the Anime there is a literally "Pirate Daddy". ;3
25:42 When you're int hat position does that mean you walk to stand by your ideals and not work for any corrupt organisation, or does that mean you stay because you're going to remain one of the good ones no matter what?
Kuina fell down the stairs on accident and passed. Zoro was the one who found her If I remember the manga correctly it’s only in the manga that they specify he found her so it was a lot more traumatizing for him
My life has meaning again
This is exactly what i need after my work double slay eat yes ty
Captain Kuro did not eat a devil fruit..he just knows a special technic..
9:20 Logic, Society, Genetics, Biology, I mean we could go on all day.
Kuina was killed by a flight of Japanese-style stairs, which are steeper than in most other countries.
Not going to spoil anything mind you, but devil fruits are pretty rare. It is easier to assume someone doesn't have one despite what you see. One Piece is a world where you can train yourself to have some crazy abilities all on your own. This is boosted by your will into almost super powers. Garp throwing the cannon ball, Mihawk slicing a ship, and even Kudo's imperfect dash move. I call it imperfect because if you notice he stumbles a bit each time. He can't really see that well when he does it otherwise he would just use it all the time.
I'm surprised the only person I saw adding Garp to the daddy list was my mom
Yeah The Sevan Warlords of The Sea are basically privateers, they're some of the strongest pirates in the world, some with Devil Fruits some just powerful as hell, they do the dirty work for The World Government and Marines and their bounties are put on hold.
"Is Shanks a pirate lord?"
Me- 🤐
If it was Mihakw up against Kuro, how long do we think Kuro would've lasted?
Or do you think even Kuro isn't stupid enough to go up against Mihawk
15:55 Because you CAN cut rubber, you know. 🙄
Damn…my 1% OF dream crushed if I don’t like & subscribe 😔

kuina died from…. a fall down the stairs. i’m literally not even joking she fell down the stairs and died
Down D stairs
Yay! New episode
I've eaten a dragon fruit. I didn't become immortal
Garp can eat me like them Steaks 🥩
👀
Garp, Kuro and Mihawk doesn't eat any fruit, they're just physically strong and fast
still waiting for a one piece lore dump they skip over so many details in the show.
@@demontrash they explain it p late in the anime too.
@@demontrashIt took the anime 350+ episodes just to explain Garp, and way longer to explain how humans could get that powerful without a Devil Fruit.
Kuina fell down the stairs and died.
But that funeral scene was so awful that I kind of laughed. Even though I knew that place was not in Japan. In Japan, when we walk in a sacred place, we put our hands above our navel, not between our legs, and incense sticks in the sand, not in rice😅
It's not meant to be in Japan. One Piece's version of Japan is Wano, which is nowhere near Shimotsuki Village. While it was founded by people from Wano, it wouldn't be surprising if some things were different in the decades since its founding.
Y'all are so silly lol and I'm so tickled 😆
Idk if you watch movies in different languages other than English but plz watch “EVEN IF THIS LOVE DISAPPEARS FROM THE WORLD TONIGHT” -vid 3
Mihawk DEFINITELY has the power of God and anime on his side BECAUSE WTF JDNDBDN
Luffy can be injured by sharp objects, he's only immune to blunt attacks

Why do call yourself that. I think your funny and good looking

Demon Trash needs to explain this one to me 😂 I might be on the same page with them. 😅😅
not everybody that has power has eaten a devil fruit ladies some are naturally talented and have trained to use those talents plus some are born with special abilities and then there are people like the fishmen what happened to Kuina is never explained in the live action but she faced off with the villain known as Down D Stairs
That pun was so bad and so horrible, that I actually started to giggle. Jesus man!

I already disliked Kuro as a villain in the anime, I honestly somehow like him less in the live action.
too much monologuing 😫
easily the weakest villain of the East Blue arc@@demontrash
@@agranosclemcap when don kreig exist
19:23 Yep. Monkey D. Garp, Vice Admiral.
And here in the anime we see some of his parenting styles: ruclips.net/video/jurRARvxEbY/видео.html
Kuina is implied to have committed suicide as a child. She's got obvious depression/her dad was a misogynistic prick..
What Zoro does run into later is a girl who looks exactly like a grown up Kuina, but she's a sword collector geek/not as skilled. So Zoro knows it's not her just looks exactly like her.
Hundreds of chapters later we get some fun family trees for Zoro's hometown, and it turns out she's Kuina's first cousin. Their fathers were identical twins that separated over Kuina's Dad being an egotistical Misogynist prick.
So Tashigi grew up with the almost same dad who was not an asshole and grew up into a healthy functioning adult, but Kuina seemingly killed herself the day she got her first period.
Kuina is not implied to have committed suicide, that is a lie to spread a fan theory that has nothing supporting it.
@@lich109 Kuina and Zoro's family tree was revealed in a Wano arc SBS and she's listed as "Died in an accident" like her mother.
She was obviously depressed in the story and her absent mother figure committing suicide would explain a lot. Shimotzuki Kozuboro was her grandfather and is now an outcast/disliked by the village and we're not told exactly why, but he might have been an unbearable father like Koushiro was to Kuina.
Zoro was an orphan who was always alone training by himself and Kozuboro asks how Kuina is doing, Zoro doesn't know this old man is her grandfather that's been ostracized from the family over some tragedy. Kozuboro was the one who smithed the Wado Ichimonji 55 years ago before the start of the story. The blade was a wedding gift to Koushiro's wife.
So whatever happened that blade is associated with depressed woman of Wano lineage. Lady Hiyori recognizes it on Zoro's person and knows the history of this cursed blade and gives Zoro Enma, her cursed blade because for him to carry it means he's a man who can overcome the curse along with his usual Sandai Kitetsu.
@@charlesacker9174 She's listed as died in an accident because she did, and nothing in the story even hints that it was anything but an accident. Making stuff up in your imagination and passing it off as something that "might" have happened when there's nothing supporting it means you're ignoring what actually happened in favour of a fantasy.
Also the Wado Ichimonji is never listed as a cursed blade, that is a lie you made up.
@@lich109 okay the Wado is not directly called a cursed blade that's true, but it is made by the same smith that created the Sandai Kitetsu. When Hiyori sees Zoro with both of those swords she reacts to the fact he's carrying these two swords in particular.
When Zoro is fighting King in Wano it flashes back to his childhood and the old grumpy bastard sword Smith is like there's no such thing as a Cursed blade. The blades only reflect the nature of their holder.
@@charlesacker9174 She reacts to those two swords because not only are they well known, but they were made by the same Smith who made Enma.
That flashback has nothing to do with the Wado Ichimonji.
What Kuina said is true. She talked about Biology. Adult Woman can only to 1% beat an adult men but it depends on what.
In the anime/manga it is easier to identify between the lines of the narrative, Kuina did not have an accident, she committed seppuku in the basement of her house, as it is a very sensitive issue the writer left it between the lines, just notice the dialectic of the text, it she was found dead at the foot of the stairs because she was going to sharpen her sword, the important point is the sword, she was probably found with the sword engraved on herself, her father called it an accident to hush it up, but deep down he knew it was to blame him because he always diminishes women and their capabilities, this is much more explicit in the manga.
This is not a theory, it is a deep interpretation of the text made by a PhD graduate in history, specialized in tales and text narratives from ancient civilizations.
That is a lie, she died from an accident and you are lying/making up the details to push a fan theory that has no evidence supporting it.
Why do you feel the need to lie and make up stuff, answer me please?
If you really wanna know:
TW// SUICIDE MENTION!
In Japan, it's common that people will say, "they fell down the stairs" when a family or friend has killed themselves. Kuina, in both the anime and manga, has been said to have, "fallen down the stairs".
This tribute was really for the older fans, rather than the newbies like you guys💀
I see this all over the place, but it isn't actually true. I'm pretty sure it started off as conjecture on Reddit or something and warped over time to being accepted as fact, but the stairs euphemism isn't a thing in Japanese. Like, maybe Kuina did commit suicide, but there's no subtext here that implies that. Any Japanese person would just take it literally. And yes, Japanese fans also think that it's stupid that Kuina died from falling down the stairs. source: am japanese
@@isaacsato1700It's pretty evident that she was struggling with her self worth, you can see it in her face during the flashback. So, proof or not I fully believe that she committed suicide, because her dad doesn't have a lick of evil in him, so why accuse him of killing his own child?
@@abluerainbow She's struggling with her self worth in the beginning, that is true. But after she fought with Zoro and talked to him, the things that Zoro said did get through her, because finally she has someone who actually believes in her and her dream, then after they made a promise to each other, the next morning she trains with new spirit, more harder and better, eager to prove herself that the whole dojo scared of her. I think her death was to show Zoro how frail, unfair and unpredictable life is, how even as simple as falling down the stairs can take away everything. Which ignites him to go and achieve his dream even more because he doesn't know how or when his life will come to end. If you remember when Zoro were tied on the cross with the marines getting ready to shoot him, that was the first time we saw fear in his eyes knowing he was at the death door, but all he can do is stand there helplessly before even trying to reach his dream just because he killed a damn wolf dog and his foolishness for believing that Helmeppo will honor their deal to release him after a month.
@@abluerainbow it doesn’t make sense though. Because Zorro still has respect for her if she killed her self, he wouldn’t if this was hidden from him, it makes one of the primary motivators in his life a lie. There’s absolutely no reason to do that, when the reason that’s been given makes perfect sense: you follow your dreams, because you never know when they might stop being obtainable if you wait.
@@abluerainbowBelieving your own lies does not make them into facts.
