- We finally have some straight up gameplay of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and I think it looks incredibly promising. There are so many cool new mechanics, and I'm now more excited than ever to dive into the game myself on May 12th. Totally okay if you can't match my hype levels, I know everyone is feeling differently about this game right now. Thanks for Watching!

I noticed every time they showed off a new ability that they cut to a different scene with it already active in the L button icon and never showed the sub-menu to select the abilities. I wonder if there’s maybe one or more other abilities that they don’t want us to see yet. 🤔
I think the reason for this is because Anouma states "there are even more new abilities" and then proceeds to show us only one more. There are undoubtedly more in my opinion.
Let's cross our fingers for some of the rune abilities from the previous game can make a return
@@christopherlee7417 I have a feeling we will get the sheika slate back in the late game. And then we’ll have both suites of abilities.
@@christopherlee7417 I want bombs 😢
I heard that one of the new abilities is Cappy from Mario Odyssey.
Source: Trust me
I’m glad Nintendo did this. For one, we don’t have to scout out for some boat and korok leaf, we don’t need to find random weapons, but we can craft them, which is a HUGE plus. But I do wish we could see more, especially of the underground section
I do actually completely agree, but I just hope that things like the fans will be available where you need them so you don’t have to scout around TOO far to look for them
We still have to scout for the parts
That's a plus, but it's still in the glorified DLC category.
imo
I am happy they dont show too much
So i can discover the rest by myself for the first time :D
I'm starting to wonder if there's a playable underground section anyways
I wish we could swim under water. Having aquatic zones has been a hallmark of the franchise, and I really missed it in BotW.
same i’m sure there will be underground areas so there will probably be underwater too
This game might not have underwater gameplay, but I wouldn’t rule the possibility out yet.
In games like Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword you couldn’t swim deep underwater until you got a specific item later in the game so if there is underwater in this game I would imagine they’d do something similar
It’s gonna be a world you create in not just a world you explore. We’ve explored here, and it will be different but we can explore it different, explore more of it but create experiences in it. You have to assume we’ve only seen a tiny tiny part of what these new abilities will bring among other things. We still have BOTW players crafting things and it seems like Nintendo went all in on this concept of crafting creating inventing. I do hope we get some dungeons though and some mind bending ones given the systems we’ve seen.
I watched the gameplay and immediately emailed my boss asking for the day off on 5/12
LOL
I wasnt very hype for TOTK but this trailer did it for me, the Fuse ability on its own is going to be insane and the Nuts and Bolts stuff looks so awesome
This is a very good gameplay presentation. I love the addition of crafting and fusing. This will allow for even more ways of getting around, which is a HUGE plus in my book.
I got so excited I might of cried, I was so overwhelmed by all the new info but 10x the excitment
i was in class when they uploaded the video. i sat there in class watching it with an awestruck look in my face the whole time, and it got to the point that my teacher actually came up and asked me if i was okay lmao
It actually looks like a worthy game to me now
The only parts that felt disappointing about the showcase were the cases of reused music. New music for horse riding and in cold areas would've gone a long way in helping this game seem more like a proper sequel to Breath of the Wild rather than an expansion like some have been labeling it as. But other than that I was very pleased with what I saw. I fully believe there are still a couple of big things they are keeping secret, like traditional dungeons and/or underwater sections. May 12th can't come soon enough! (Also, hello fellow launch Switch owner who also caved and ordered the Zelda edition OLED)
The reused music is definitely concerning. Really hoping there won't be too much of that...
Even though it looks cool,
I’m still skeptical on how the game will turn out to be if it’ll be too
similar to Breath Of The Wild and not a full fledged game of its identity.
Same here. It kinda feels like just an expansion so far. Or like a sandbox(?) game of a kingdom we've already done everything in. Like ok we can make boats, cars and flimsy weapons like animal crossing now. The rebulding hyrule thing is fun, though.
@@ConvenientlyShapedUsername in the other trailers it looks like there are pretty massive underground areas along with the new floating islands, and the lack of shrines suggests traditional Zelda dungeons or at least more focused exploration areas. It looks like the surface will hopefully be just that, The surface of an iceberg of content :)
I don’t think it’s a dungeon, it’s the starting place , similar to Shrine of Resurrection. It will be place you get your gauntlet.
The only thing that worries me is Link having too much power right out of the gate. I mean there seem to be so many ways to get up and down, so many tricks and strategies that just make challenges look super easy. Like, he mentioned using the ascend power to skip past climbing tall mountains. I get that all the climbing can feel tedious, but I don't want to just skip over half the work and exploration in my open world game
Then just stick to playing BOTW
Hopefully we unlock them by progessing the plot like the Guardian abilites
@@Lightner445555555555 xD?
I have full faith this will be a masterpiece
This presentation looks more like Botw 1.5 than a new game....I really hope it has a good story and at least 1 "old-school" dungeon.....
he's heeeeeere!
Looks like a DLC over the old map. Waahwaahwah.
It will be interesting to find out what 0,0,0 is for the cartesian coordinates shown at the bottom of the map. Also, I can't wait to find out what a "stambulb" is: My bet is that instead of stamina in climbing, it is stamina in swimming under water, aka link holding his breath.
Very interesting question about the coords that I've not heard discussed before.
Maybe there will be treasure maps and a shovel?
@@balidr That is an excellent prediction! Makes sense!
Really good video man! I think it’s so funny how you addressed the OLED. Glad you’re getting it. Still trying to decide if I will be or not.
I am totally happy for people who are excited for this game. From what we have seen so far though, I don't know if this game has everything I want in a Zelda game. New crafting and interesting ways to get from point A to point B isn't really enough to get me hyped.
I will still play the game, I just hope I am pleasantly surprised.
Awesome video man, my exact thoughts!! I wanna ask something though, what's that outro music u used? Ik I've heard it before in some Wii game but I don't remember exactly where, id appreciate if u could lmk.
Thanks! And the outro music is the menu theme from Wii Sports Resort: ruclips.net/video/dj694vuw94M/видео.html
I hope the TriForce returns
Unpopular opinion
The Zelda switch is ugly and it makes me so sad cuz I was gonna buy it
Imma put a Savage Lynel Crusher on a stick.
Who else is making a meat arrow😂😂
Me lol, that's the first thing I thought.
Gonna shoot some poor deer with the meat of its friend or something- oh hylia no
Why would anyone want to have the weapons degradation system 🤔?
I hope I can fuse a chicken to my shield to have them beat up an enemy if it attacks me
The TOTK Switch is simply gorgeous. I was considering getting an OLED model and I think this will definitely make the scale tip. Do we have any info on its price?
Yeah the price is $359.99 I would know because I bought one lol
@@NintendoHero why the additional $10, I wonder?
Personally very apprehensive. I spent a lot of time in BotW and it doesn’t look like the world has been changed enough in a meaningful way to reignite the passion I had in the original. Hearing the same horse riding theme killed me. The new mechanics seem cool, but not interesting to me
6:00 :D that cracked me up! It does look amazing but I'm still resisting, as I haven't felt the need to buy an OLED so far (even after playing on the one from my nephew).
Honestly, I was blown away by these new mechanics. I thought it'd be BotW 2.0 with floating islands and a different story/new characters (and would've been happy with that) but they seem to have added so many new and creative elements that will make it a notably different gaming experience, it's awesome!
Just 6 weeks left!!!
Honestly what they showed got me plenty hyped. The flexibility and potential is through the roof. Especially depending on how the skills work. Like if we can attach things to add durability and keep swapping out attachments to keep favourite weapons alive long term. That'd be cool. But regardless it means people can just put together weapons on the spot with what they find. Exploration and combat can become an incredibly personal journey that is unique to each player.
idk whats up with people saying theyre keeping this so secretive more than others, freaking BOTW didnt show any more before release except those weird demos really really early on that were completely different then the end game
i really dont like the stamina system and i know its not going to be removed but i really wish it would be removed also it does not look good with the fans having a battery that will run out very quickly :P
Other then that its a lot of improvments but its biggest downside is that its on the nintendo switch but im praying its going to be good
the korok with the backpack made me pre order it now i cant buy my weekly 10 peice chicken nuggets
I’m excited to see how they make the puzzles or shrines using this sense of building. Could lead to some cool ideas and solutions.
Imagine doubting the Zelda team + Monolithsoft
The whole fusion system is kind of lame to me. It’s going to look ugly as hell with link running around hyrule with a pole 2 times the length of his body on his back
Counterpoint: it’s amazing for the exact same reason

to be honest classic Zelda dungeons doesn't fit in this game they feel too linear in a game that your freely move and go where ever you want and i don't want to get and find the idem i need to use to complete the dungeon i just want to explore and find things.
I see no reason why you can’t have both. Having a deep, intricate and complex dungeon to explore would balance out the open exploration in the over world perfectly IMO. I agree that I don’t think the mid-dungeon items will work with this, but you can still have an awesome dungeon that uses the amazing physics engine and new abilities to create really innovative puzzles
The gameplay does look incredibly fun, but you know what doesn't look incredible? That blur and draw distance.
bro why is your voice so legendary
IS IT GONNA HAVE THE TARREY TOWN THEME!?!?!?
Aimbot woooo
I'm very happy and impressed with the gameplay. Definitely a game changer but I feel like there's more. They've shown so little and are hiding something but I'm very excited.
Sup
did you notice when he dives into the water the splash he makes comes back down as droplets of water?
damn what a revolutionary change, definitely wort 70$
@@sub4fun.- yeah and guess what, 9 times out of 10 u still gonna buy it
@@sub4fun.- Gamers when a game designed to run at 3ofps runt at 30fps
WHATSD THE POINT IN EXPLORING THEW SAME MAP WITH LITTLE CHANGES MAN WAKE UP
You say little changes yet the game hasn’t come out yet, just wait man. All we know is what they want us to know
@@tonypizzapasta9960 hopefully man but idk bro
I really don’t see what’s that promising yet. I think it’s cool to think of enemies with crazy weapons but I personally don’t like the idea of fighting with a stick and a rock much past the tutorial
Okay, so don't use the stick and rock? This is patently obviously in the early part of the game. Why would you see this as an indication of how the majority of the game will be played?
@@Novarcharesk I’m not going to, nor will I be using the majority of the weapon fusions. The bow ones are cool. What I’m saying is, a large part of the selling point of the game doesn’t interest me. If the new sheikhs abilities is what was supposed to hook me into paying $70, then it failed
@@Beastmd Yeah I agree..
@@Beastmd the only reason people look at the fusion mechanic as the main selling point is because that’s the biggest thing they have shown so far. Wait until release to see what the actual selling point is, they are clearly hiding a bunch of stuff lol. You don’t spend this many years on a game with an already pretty well developed asset library and end up with so little change
I just want playable Zelda…
Man that would be amazing. I think it might actually be possible since we haven't ever seen Link in that dark deep underground cavern section
Maybe! There’s so much we still don’t know
But what would her gameplay even look like? She's not a sword fighter and her powers were nearly drained from holding off ganon for 100 years
Why? She's not the hero of the franchise
Simp
Promising why exactly.
It looks like exactly what I expected it to be a recycled botw with extra bits tagged on.
I can't see where 6 years of development time went.
Yeah I know it's only a slice they've shown off but it's a big enough slice to get the overall kinda look and feel to the game.
