I would love it if Disney released the audio of all the unused takes Robin Williams did. Even just hearing the bits here they didn't use in the film were hysterical, but they seem especially valuable now that he's gone. RIP, Robin.
It was in robin Williams contract that they could not use any of the audio of him as the genie except for these movies (no sequels) and agreed upon educational projects.
"How do I look?" "Like a vampire on a day pass." Holy god, that had me in stitches. Robin Williams must've had such a fun time with this movie. I think all the other actors had to have had fun.
Holy cow, I had no idea Lea Salonga was in "Aladdin" as well as in "Mulan." I guess the people who worked in Disney at the time really liked having her provide the singing voices for their main female characters.
No one said anything about Brad Kane. I think that even he did an amazing job. I love his voice in 'A whole new world'. He deserved to be mentioned in this video.
It's weird because he sings several times in the movie ("One Jump Ahead" and its reprise, "A Whole New World" and its finale reprise) whereas Lea Salonga only sings in "A Whole New World" and its reprise.
I missed Robin Williams's sense of humor, and comedy may he R.I.P. as one of the best Genie voice ever, and childhood idol I've loved Aladdin since I was 5 years old when I first saw it sure does bring back memories. I loved this movie since the beginning of my childhood and I still watch and love it.
Having seen Jonathan Freeman perform Jafar live in the musical, I gotta say how much I love how he gets into it and you can see the character in his voice. (Especially when he's in costume.)
Seeing Robin Williams recording his voice truly shows how much fun he had working on this film. And it paid off because his Genie truly was the bright spark of the film. And Will Smith really lived up to the exciting levels of Williams' performance as the genie too.
That last line... I mean, nowadays?... pardon my language but... shit the feels. Rest In Piece Robin Williams, and take that piece of my childhood with ya...
Frankly, I think the animator of Jafar based the character on himself..I see a much stronger visual resemblance between Jafar and him than with the voice actor. Interesting!
Andreas Deja (the guy at 3:18) is the man to go to if you need a villain drawn for a Disney movie not only did he draw Jafar for "Aladdin" but he also drew Gaston for "Beauty and the Beast" and Scar for "The Lion King".
7:19 -But first before we do the play, I would like to talk about the very serious subject of schizophrenia. -No I didn't! -SHUT UP LET HIM TALK! Thank you for everything, Robin Williams. You are now free. Safe journey onward.
I love how most of the voice actors used their normal speaking voices for these roles. I love this movie so much! 1989-1998 were the best years to be a kid and actually seeing all of these classics when they first came out in theaters and later owned on VHS. It was truly magical. Best. Childhood. Ever.
I think there was more Robin Williams in any of his movie roles than the intended characters. It's like asking for bread but instead being given the best 5 tiered cake you've seen and tasted.
Genie has to be my absolute favorite character in Aladdin Robin did an amazing job doing Genie's voice, it just came to life with his comedian personality that what made him the best R.I.P. Robin Williams. As for the other characters they did amazing too Scott Weigner did amazing too whenever I watched Full House I can always imagine Aladdin in that voice =) All in all one of my favorite Disney movies =) ♥♥
John Musker and Ron Clements are My Favorite Disney Directors They Always Add Good Actors Including Some Stage Stars From Broadway In Their Disney Movies R.I.P Robin Williams U Were Wonderful As The Genie!
I know I love how the guy who did Aladdin tried to hold back his laugh but fail sometime because of Robin Williams funny jokes and quotes R.I.P. Robin Williams
Ron Clements and John Musker Are The Perfect Disney Directors Which is Why Those 2 Are My Favorites and They Add Very Good Actors Some TV Movie Actors Along With Broadway Actors and I Love The Voices In Aladdin So Much!
They're the only directorial duo from Disney that is still going strong, having recently directed Moana. Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise (directors of Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis: The Lost Empire) for some reason don't work together anymore, and it was clear that the other directorial duos were one-time deals.
Watching the Genie character & remembering how awesome robin Williams was in this role I can’t help but tear up a little RIP mr Williams you are greatly missed 😞
Here's an interesting fun fact for you Frank Welker the guy who did the voice of Abu in "Aladdin" did the voice of Santa's Little Helper in "The Simpsons" from 1991 to 1995.
Awesome to see Frank Welker ie: Megatron from the original Transformers. Piece of trivia: Even though Robin and Frank didn't meet while working on this movie, both Rob and Frank were friends as voice over artists.
God, Robin Williams you were magic. You're missed. Also very cool to see how the characters changed in the writing process. Disney doesn't show us that anymore.
When he says the character looks like him that makes me think of Pixar's Inside Out where the characters look like the actor's who voice them. :) I always think its funny when animated movies do that.
Oh yeah you didn't know? :) there was an episode where they all went to disney land and dj had broken up with Steve or something and she was missing him so much and she was seeing him everywhere, and she even seen him as Aladdin, small joke I guess ;)
luvtapping They didn't break up that episode, Steve couldn't come to Disneyworld with the Tanner Family so DJ just misses steven when she's all the way across the country away from steve
Rest in Peace Robin Williams :(
An excellent, albeit maybe unintentional tribute
Edward Joel x
That was the saddest death ever I took it pretty hard when he died. The comedy world lost a good one. I was 17 when passed away.
😣
I miss him so much.
Genie, you're free...
Rip robin Williams
+Ammo DarkPixel This comment made me so sad....
:'(
Your 3-word comment made me cry my heart out
noooooo don't do that fuck, now i'm crying
Dat early 90s haircut
That is an awesome profile picture.
RIP Robin Williams.....best actor who shares his laugh and joy to us
I'm really pissed that they didn't even talk about Brad Kane, the singing voice of Aladdin.
OOF same
They had a special for the music alone where he appeared. These are the talking voices.
@@lovethyneighborandhiswife7596 what about lea?
little bit sad..
Anna May They barely even mentioned Lea Salonga! The movie wouldn’t be as successful as it it without them! 😡
I would love it if Disney released the audio of all the unused takes Robin Williams did. Even just hearing the bits here they didn't use in the film were hysterical, but they seem especially valuable now that he's gone. RIP, Robin.
TheaterRaven k
TheaterRaven Yes, apparently there was 13 hours of footage
It was in robin Williams contract that they could not use any of the audio of him as the genie except for these movies (no sequels) and agreed upon educational projects.
When Genie says he free broke me apart :(
Me too :'(
i cant get over it
Look at Robin Williams.. you can make out he is having the time of his fucking life there!
(Miss you Robin, RIP my friend)
so true....rip 😢
I miss him too Robin Williams was my favorite
To be honest - Robin Williams stole the show in many different ways.
SO TRUE
He's my favorite
Truer words have never been said
RIP. ❤️
RIP
Who else came to see Robin Williams do what he does best?
Just thought I'd bring you back to see this again, because it's just amazing.
Me
Me! 💙

Even Eric Goldberg did a great job dictating what Robin Williams sounded like.
So many great talents in the Disney Renaissance.
Yesss, that will never happen again
And even Frank Welker voiced many creature characters in the Disney Renaissance.
"How do I look?"
"Like a vampire on a day pass."
Holy god, that had me in stitches. Robin Williams must've had such a fun time with this movie. I think all the other actors had to have had fun.
its crazy how they got a sing voice for jasmine that sounds just like jasmines speaking voice
Stars aligned.
Talk about timing and perfection.
She's the same singer for Mulan.
Aw Jasmine. I have goosebumps with her singing! :)
Lea Salonga
Alfredo Vigo She also did Mulan singing voice in Disney’s Mulan
I can't imagine anyone else voicing the Genie beside Robin Williams :) Best Disney character of all time :D
R.I.P. You old Hollywood star :')
@@CraftyMaelyss well here comes will smith😂
@@ProfJul Wait, seriously? I have no beef with the guy but come on, they can just take Robin William's lines from the movie and use those.
The live action film is soo good!
But the original is hands down better
Jasmine's speaking voice annoys me sometimes, but Lea Salonga...damn, her voice is beautiful.
is annoys you?!
9:40 You sure are!
RIP Robin Williams
Robin Williams is the FUCKING STAR of this Movie!!!
Holy cow, I had no idea Lea Salonga was in "Aladdin" as well as in "Mulan." I guess the people who worked in Disney at the time really liked having her provide the singing voices for their main female characters.
Like if the Voice actress cannot sing, they would just end up saying, "Just call LeaSalonga!"
She has also played Eponine in Les Miserables on Broadway!
Yes, you're free now, Robin 😢💜
Aladdin is the best looking Disney character!
Tru he's hot af
We also have Prince Naveen and Eugene....
Lucy my first crush hahaha!
Jim Hawkins?
I agree Lucy
I'm free!!!! That broke me :.(
Aladdin is Steve from full house
He also had some episodes in Family Ties I think.
Primary voice...secondary voice was Brad Kane.
That was what I was thinking
We get it
Who?
No one said anything about Brad Kane. I think that even he did an amazing job. I love his voice in 'A whole new world'. He deserved to be mentioned in this video.
It's weird because he sings several times in the movie ("One Jump Ahead" and its reprise, "A Whole New World" and its finale reprise) whereas Lea Salonga only sings in "A Whole New World" and its reprise.

Rest in peace Robin Williams... You really brought the magic to Aladdin.
Robin Williams... Amazing... I could see him recording his genie voice all day
May he rest in peace :'(
i loved the “vampire on a day pass“ bit XD
Having seen Jonathan Freeman perform Jafar live in the musical, I gotta say how much I love how he gets into it and you can see the character in his voice. (Especially when he's in costume.)
i would love to see him in the musical

Robin did say working on Aladdin was a blast.

I love Robin as the genie!
Frankly, I think the animator of Jafar based the character on himself..I see a much stronger visual resemblance between Jafar and him than with the voice actor. Interesting!
Yes!
I think Brad Kane looks A LOT like Aladdin.
He was actually the original voice of Aladdin during early work on the film.
Gilbert has always been a bird. Aladdin, Cyberchase, and Afflack.
C-Cyberchase?! Really, I never noticed! Who-? Oooohhhh.
What do you think of Akira Kamiya, Iago's Japanese voice?
THAT'S WHERE HE WAS FROM! OH MY GOSH THANK YOU! I KNEW HE SOUNDED FAMILIAR!
Who could mistake that obnoxiously screechy voice? (Oddly enough on SNL the guy was quite soft spoken.) Akira Kamiya is so much easier on the ears.
Jonathan Freeman is one of the best voice actors Disney has EVER got their hands on. EVER.
Andreas Deja (the guy at 3:18) is the man to go to if you need a villain drawn for a Disney movie not only did he draw Jafar for "Aladdin" but he also drew Gaston for "Beauty and the Beast" and Scar for "The Lion King".
Douglas Roth He's one of my favorite people who ever worked for Disney I love him so much!!!
R.I.P Robin Williams. 😞😞😞

They're not squares lol. They're emoji's. You just can't see them. (:
Bella Candamo yup
yeah it made me sad watching the video
I don't think your emojis belong on youtube. They're just fucking squares.
oh my god, robin williams looks like he was having so much fun, he looks so adorable here, im crying.
The voice actors were perfect for the movie.
RIP Robin Williams we will miss you very much.

@Princessjasmineym you mean 89 to 99
the best advice i ever had, if you want to be an winner, just e yourself........
the best thing about robin Williams' voice acting is that he's just as animated as the character he's voicing that's why he's so good at it
I think there was more Robin Williams in any of his movie roles than the intended characters. It's like asking for bread but instead being given the best 5 tiered cake you've seen and tasted.
I can't believe Iago was distinguished at one point, the idea seems so crazy! The final personality was so hilarious.
And I'm just sitting here crying.
Awe🤗 don't cry. I know...it hurts.
R.i.p robin williams
Good bye Genie.. :(
I literally can not stop crying! Rip
***** hearing him say im free finally broke me:(
We're gonna miss him, but he's not a prisoner anymore. He's free.
Amber Oertel When I heard that I actually said: yes... you are... My poor thing...
I mean we shouldnt be said that hes gone and feeling no pain but I cant help but be like how dare you even though I didnt even know the man
Robin Williams is free now. Rest in peace. 🙏
"No matter what anyone say. Your always a price to me.." - Robin Williams
Anyone else see jafar in the jafar animationer if tht makes sense
I thought the same thing!
Good call. I thought I was the only one who could see that.
Yes the animator even had a mirror in front of him while drawing jafar and expressions. Many animators sometimes use their own looks for the character
noodlellover YES Lol
Yesss
I have such a soft spot for Scott Weinger as Aladdin. I hope he is in that Fuller House show.
