Filthy Y62 Transmission Fluid - Before and after.

Y62 Patrols don’t have a transmission “filter”, it’s more like a gauze and doesn’t filter micro contaminants so it’s important to flush the transmission using hydraulic transfer pumps because it’ll be way more effective and efficient than just dropping the sump and refilling because you won’t get all the crappy fluid out.

What’s the recommended trans fluid change interval that you guys see appropriate? Stock, towing, supercharged etc?

Every 40,000km under normal conditions and more regularly if towing (especially heavy) or if you’ve overheated the fluid Offroad like in soft sand. Hope this helps

Just under 60,000km on the clock, never towed heavy.
