Egyptian creativity and innovation had an undeniable influence on a large part of the world. China has the record for longest continuing civilization followed by Egypt and third is Mesopotamia. This longevity and continuity has produced an impact on the rest of the world we continue to feel to this day. Having studied architecture, design and art this comes as no surprise to me.

I find that, in general, the more valuable and factful a site or a channel, the less subscribers and followers. This is because this world has totally skewed priorities, especially now. And concerning this particular video...
Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies:
THE CYCLES OF TIME. Most people don't understand that the same scenarios play out again and again, because most people have the false belief that they come into being with the body, and they die with the body. YOU COME AGAIN AND AGAIN, until the Cycle's purpose is accomplished. The best-kept secret in this entire world is The Meaning of Life - including the precise reason WHY we are experiencing this realm of LIMITATION. I've published the answers to all major mysteries such that one can see it all makes perfect sense. Great work Jacob - thanks for having Kara on your channel, she is both interesting and knowledgeable.
By the way, have you any knowledge about a book called “Bible Myths and their Parallels in other Religions” by T.W.Doane. Its free on the Project Gutenberg site and was published in 1882. It’s a massive tome and in it’s 531 pages and 40 chapters covers examines a wide range of topics such as: Creation, fall of man, exodus, and the birth, genealogy, crucifixion, resurrection, and miracles of Jesus.
I gather not a lot is known about T.W Doane but he apparently died in his mid thirties and must have devoted his life to researching and writing his book. It is basically a literature review of the ancient beliefs of, for example, Sumerians, and the more recent beliefs of Christians, Buddhists, and Judaism. He clearly documents and references the similarities between ancient and modern myths.
    Anyway, have a great day!

The staff that pierced Jesus became a phallus in later Arthurian legend, as well. "The Fisher King" was immasculated by a wound to the "thigh", healed by Galahad carrying the spear of Longinus who stabbed it into the thigh of the king, healing his immasculating wound by giving him a replacement package.

Is there a connection between the "RA's" of Egypt and the Abrahamic names; Ab-RA-ham, Is-Ra-el, Ma-Ra im etc... The Hebrew interpertations of "RA" means "first"?

      @Eastra3 10 месяцев назад +1

      That’s an interesting pattern

    • @historian96
      @historian96 10 месяцев назад

I doubt it. ... Or even if so, only in a very round-about way.
The Abraham character was first "Abram," Ab-Ram, which means high father, or exalted father in Hebrew.
"Ab" (אב) = "father"; "ram" (רם) = "high."
When a tribe makes up stories about an alleged ancestor, it only makes sense to call him "exalted father" of the people. ...
And we cannot simply pick two letters or the "ra" sound out of random character names or words from other cultures' stories and say or speculate that it comes from Egyptian Ra. ....
And Isra-El is from 2 Hebrew words, "yisra" = rule, judge, struggle, contend, prevail over"; "El" = the word for God in ancient Canaan / Phoenicia / Ugarit. So the name would mean "God/El rules/ judges/ prevails/ struggles." The bible says Israel means "he struggles with El/God," and the bible tells a story about a patriarch named Jacob/Yakob/Ya'aqov who wrestles/struggles with God/El one night by a river/ wadi/ tributary and wins the wrestling match and gets God/El to bless him. Gen 32.28, "Your name will no longer be Yakob/Jacob, but Israel/Yisrael, because you have struggled with El/God and with men, and you have prevailed.”
Even though ancient Egyptian was not a Semitic language like Hebrew, I suppose (without any evidence) it might have been possible that both Egyptian ra/ the sun god and Hebrew ram/ high might have evolved from a prehistoric shared root. But that is mere idle speculation on my part. ... Similarly, could the Mesopotamian sun god Shamash have derived its name from a prehistoric root that also evolved separately into the Hebrew word for the sky / heavens / heights? Hebrew Shamayim (שָׁמַיִם‎ šāmayīm) = "heights / sky / heavens." I don't see any way to know for sure whether such things reflect parallel linguistic evolution or mere coincidences. Homophones and coincidences are frequent in the study of languages. The more languages you look at, the more interesting coincidences you might see. ???

Sah, Sopdet & Sopet existed before Osiris, Isis & Horus. They were represented by the brightest manifestations in the firmament: three stars of Orion's belt (not Orion as a whole) is the male (phallic?). Sirius is female and Venus is the child. These old gods and the newer names seem to be the same. So this divine family existed at the dawn of civilization. Very trinity, those five stars. Horus is a title: overseer. Many names have meaning. Sopdet means sharp. Probably: bright. Sopet seems derived from this meaning. Sirius and Venus are such eye catchers. I think that what's expressed here echoes through mythology.
When we look at Egypt we see a lot of depictions of entities. When we couldn't read hieroglyphs we thought they were talking about birds a lot. It's not about the birds. Same is true for the depictions of Gods. These are not persons but expressions. Formulas. To a large extend they formulate the development of reality after the big bang. Every animating principle is an actor. Sure they thought of a living thing, when something moves. But core Egyptian mythology is a chain of causality and events. We adults know where new life, things, comes from. So there is a divine family.
All pharaohs are called son of (a) god. Mose means born of. A name is attached to it. Ahmose. Born of Ah (the moon god).
Good & evil. I think Egypt started off with a yin yang notion (ogdoad). Balance of forces. Things come and things go. Its paradoxes, as expressed in Yin Yang (dots). The intermediate periods seem to have an effect on the perception of negativity. The first period was hell. Complete collapse of the culture and system. They were eating their shoes in the shadow of a great pyramid in mint condition. How do you like your godly kingdom now? These brutal experiences certainly changed their view on negative force. Over time it seems to go from an integrated perspective to polarized positions.
Note: Seth (evil) has a divine function in the solar bark to: defeat evil. The snake. Here is the divine crew navigating chaos. Seth is its spear point. The fighter, protector. The dot(s) in the yin or yang. On top of this the family conflict and power struggle exists. More like an auto-immune disease: the body attacks itself.
If we line up what I described then a lot of quirks have parallels in hebrew and christian notations. I think those relations are tight and deep. There's much more of it.

All one has to do is read Revelation chapter 20 near the end. It talks about people being judged based on their deeds and those that were not worthy killed and thrown into the lake of fire the second death. This is exactly the judgment seen in the Egyptian book of the dead. Lake of Fire is Egyptian, the second death is because the person already died their Ka travels the underworld until the final judgment, their body mummified waiting to be rejoined by their spirit. if the person is found worthy it rejoins the body and goes off to live for ever in Paradise the Greeks called it Elysium.

15:38 I would say the battle between the sun god and the serpent Apophis is a better comparison to Jesus and God battling Satan in Revelation. Every night the sun god would enter the netherworld and raise the dead to be judged by Osiris (Jesus also judges). The sun god and the other deities would battle the serpent Apophis, who is bound and taken down into a pit, and battle the enemies of Osiris and the sun god. Every night was seen as a deconstruction of the cosmos so if the sun god was killed by Apophis and prevented from being resurrected/reborn, everything would sink back into the primordial waters. Every night the sun god died and was reborn/resurrected in the morning so the sunrise represented a recreation of the cosmos.

The Father and I are one.
That is to say, the Father and I are in harmony. This is the state of perfection that Jesus alludes to, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. I am energetically attuned to the Divine Presence, to the Ineffable Intelligence, whom we call God, Father, Root, Source.
That is also to say, I AM. The I AM is who I am. Thus, the way is who I am. The truth is who I am. The life is who I am. The light is who I am. Thus, look within yourself. The kingdom of God is within you.
When Jesus says, the Father and I are one, he is alluding to the state of Self-realization, the sinless state, salvation, liberation, samadhi.
Christians conflate being born again with salvation, this state of oneness, but they are distinct stages of the spiritual path.
Being born again is the stage of Christ mind, Buddha mind. The one who is born again is able to SEE the kingdom of God, you awaken to the transcendent reality. Your paradigm, your template, is ineffably transformed.
Being born again is putting your ability to SEE to practical use moment by moment, so that your spiritual practice, your Dào discipline, your acquisition of wisdom, results in oneness with Source, known as salvation, the state of perfection, sinlessness.
The I AM does not sin. This is who you truly are. It is the ego that sins. The ego identifies with this passing reality. The I AM is eternal, unborn, undying, changeless.
Thus, when I am one with the Ineffable Intelligence, I have awakened to my true Self, I AM.

Re: 34:33: "Now, of course Jesus wasn't cut up into dozens of pieces.": Yes, Jesus was cut up into pieces. That's the last supper / communion / eucharist myth. Jesus' body was broken into pieces by himself and given to the 12 to eat. People still claim to be cutting Jesus into pieces on a routine basis. ;)
Mk 14.22: "Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take it; this is my body.'" ...
Mt 26.26: "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.'" ...
Luke 22.17: "After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, 'Take this and divide it among yourselves.'" ... John 6.48: "I am the bread of life." ...
John 6.51-58: "51. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” 52. Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53. Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” ...
1 Corinthians 11. "23. For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24. and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25. In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes."
We can compare this myth to Osiris of Egypt; Dionysus, Zagreus, and Orpheus of Greece/Hellas, and Romulus of Rome (Livy tells of an alternative version of Romulus' death and ascension, saying there was a rumor that the senators tore Romulus to pieces; Livy sometimes alludes to a myth but rationalizes it. E.g. Regarding the vestal virgin Rhea Sylvia giving birth to the sons of Mars, Livy tells an alternative story that Rhea may have made up the story of Mars fathering the children to cover her shame.). The Ugaritic Mot (death) kills Ba'al (who comes back to life) but then Mot also gets cut up into pieces or ground up and scattered, and he too comes back to life to challenge Ba'al, but he submits to Ba'al. So this cutting up theme seems widespread, and it's reasonable to associate it with grain, the nature cycle, the cycle of death and rebirth. [cf. John 12.23-24: "23. Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." Once again, he is bread. Cf. what she says about Osiris being the sprout of wheat, 37:39. Lots of cool parallels.]

Good post! Even the Egyptologist Jan Assmann compares the bread representing the body parts of Osiris to the church representing the body of Jesus. There's also a parallel with Jesus in John where he describes himself as the "water of life" and at his crucifixion water flows from one of his wounds.
Death and Salvation in Ancient Egypt (Cornell University Press, 2011):
"There are many purification spells of this sort. Especially typical and frequent, however, are libation spells, whose intention includes far more than just purifying the deceased or providing him with drink... Here, the concern is to provide the deceased with water as a sacred, healing, life-endowing substance... According to the myth, the annual inundation poured from a wound inflicted on Osiris’ leg by his murderer, Seth... We thus see that a correspondence of microcosm and macrocosm underlay the designation of water as the “discharge of Osiris.”... This was the place where the life juices flowed out of Osiris and flooded Egypt, giving rise to all the means of life... The accompanying texts repeatedly make mention of the “discharges” of Osiris. In the late stages of Egyptian history, the Nile and its inundation were ever more closely connected with Osiris... *The inundation water that flowed from the wound of the god produced new life; it was a veritable elixir of life that brought forth and nourished all living things in the land.* Thus, in many representations of water flowing out of a libation vessel, the water is depicted as a chain consisting of hieroglyphs for “life”...
A myth that took tangible form only in the later periods of history identified the forty-two nomes of Egypt with forty-two body parts of Osiris. *Like the Pauline concept of the church as the body of Christ, according to this myth, the forty-two nomes of Egypt symbolized the body of Osiris.* When the reuniting and revivification of Osiris were celebrated during the annual Osiris mysteries, Egyptians were reassured of the unity of the land. In this mythic concept, all Egypt constituted the body from which the Nile inundation gushed forth like a bodily humor that brought life. We thus see that a correspondence of microcosm and macrocosm underlay the designation of water as the “discharge of Osiris.” The world-or Egypt, at least-was conceived of as a body, and the water of the Nile as an elixir of life that gushed forth from it...
The rites of Khoiak were the most important in all of Egypt in the later periods of its history; they were celebrated in all the temples of the land, constituting a truly “national” ritual. At the center of the rites was the preparation and solemn burial of a “grain Osiris.” A golden mold was filled with garden soil and seeds, and these were left to sprout for a period of eight days... Each vase contains a limb from the body of the slain Osiris, out of which the body will be ritually put back together. Among the directions for carrying out the festival of Khoiak, there are exact instructions for preparing the limbs of Osiris’ body. They were made of a special dough that was baked in wooden molds. We may thus presume that along with Nile water, each of the vases contained one of these limbs. The accompanying texts repeatedly make mention of the “discharges” of Osiris. In the late stages of Egyptian history, the Nile and its inundation were ever more closely connected with Osiris. In each case, the offering is subjected to a double sacramental explanation. One explanation refers the offering to the specific limb of Osiris’ body that is brought in it as a contribution by the respective nome to the restoration of the god’s body. On the second level, the limb is explained as the nome and its capital, with the result that the body of Osiris, restored and brought back to life, represents the entirety of the land of Egypt."

People can still see the ancient temple carvings and paintings showing Osiris rise from the dead. And we can still read the hieroglyphs (whether original or in translation). And if you were to study, you would find that there are many works of ancient literature describing the virgin births of various saviors and heroes, all kinds of alleged prophecies and dreams, miracles, healings, deaths and resurrections and ascensions of various saviors, heroes, Gods, kings, emperors, etc.
If you wanted, you could say, "Oh yeah, well if Osiris really rose from the dead, then where is he now?! Why does he not appear to us today? It's just a story. He's not really alive."
But you can say exactly the same thing about the Jesus character. If anyone actually rose from the dead in the real world, in real life, they would not need to run and hide or allegedly ascend into some imaginary mystery realm in the clouds of the sky, like in the Jesus story and others (Hercules, Romulus, Julius Caesar, Augustus, etc.). They could stick around and show and teach everyone and be real. The fact that this never happens is just one of the very many ways studious people know that these -- including the various Jesus stories -- are myths, not actual history.
If you'd like some sources to study, let me know.

It is a book of revelations. It is not one “Revelation.” I used to bang on about “Revelation” as against “Revelations” for 31 years as a Xian and 22 years as a Presbyterian minister. Since leaving the Xian Faith and it’s nonsense and then learning some real and meaningful stuff like Dr Cooney shares I have come to realise that it matters not what you call the book, the important thing is that it is mythology like all of its predecessors.

Yes, but let's not get hung up on semantics. And concerning this video...
But most people are comfortable in their cocoons of ignorance, which is why the trying times that are soon to come upon us are absolutely necessary. It's hard to stay asleep when your bed is shaking!

Christ Consciousness, Buddha Consciousness, samadhi, oneness with Source, it has many names. It is the sinless state of consciousness that Jesus alludes to, "Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." Christians call it salvation, Hindus call it liberation.

From the book Death and Salvation in Ancient Egypt (Cornell University Press, 2011) by Egyptologist Jan Assmann:
"“Salvation” and “eternal life” are Christian concepts, and we might think that the Egyptian myth can all too easily be viewed through the lens of Christian tradition. Quite the contrary, in my opinion, Christian myth is itself thoroughly stamped by Egyptian tradition, by the myth of Isis and Osiris, which from the very beginning had to do with salvation and eternal life. It thus seems legitimate to me to reconstruct the Egyptian symbolism with the help of Christian concepts."
So some of the parallels you hear about on the internet aren't accurate but there are some similarities. The person being interviewed in this video is an Egyptologist.

There are many parallels between Christianity (and Judaism) and the much older pagan religions from the region, such as Egypt. It's obvious that the creators of Christianity (and Judaism) repurposed pagan religious themes into their own religious writings.
