There are plenty of high-performance features and new additions over the EFX Racer. The Durafly EFXtra boasts a new clipped wing (975 millimeters) to give extreme roll rates. An upgraded 3536-1780kv brushless motor (using ultra-high-speed Japanese bearings) with a 60A Aerostar ESC has been added and optimized, for up to 4S performance. Higher speed, higher torque digital 9g servos (metal geared on the ailerons) together with ball link connectors provide true precision control of all surfaces no matter what speed you are traveling. We’ve even included an FPV mount in the box for the adrenaline junkies that love to live life on the edge.
Durafly heard your calls and redesigned the airframe to fit larger capacity LiPo battery packs resulting in longer flight times. The aircraft is stronger than ever with both glass and carbon fiber reinforcements throughout whilst keeping the airframe as light as possible. Super Compressed EPO foam and polished finish to deliver the ultimate performance with the sleekest of looks. How fast you go depends on the propeller and battery size. The plane comes with two propellers, for the standard setup of 3S an 8x6 prop or for the performance setup of a 4S a 7x6.5 prop.
Complimenting the amazing speeds of the EFXtra is its stability at low speed making hand launching and landing a dream. The EFXtra is also an agile slope soarer, just remove the propeller and spinner and add, the provided, slope soaring nose cone. Once again, the airframe provides excellent stability at all speeds to make it a breeze to fly in all conditions. Imagine slope soaring with FPV.

Stuart we miss you! Doing business with HK is always painful for Canadians because of the bad shipping options (cost and frustration). HK had more credibility with you on-board.

And have you done a 6 cell pylon turn? Is that wing strong enough? Or, do you have to stay away from pylon turning that might snap the wing like a dead twig. It happens, trust me. But I think the 4 cell with longer flight times just might be enough fun. Thanks Calan for asking about the correct 6 cell component setup. I was thinking the exact same thing. Probably lots of variety out there and up to personal choice, but I like tried and proven by someone else first. Saves money. Feel free to email me with anything else you have found out or know about it. I want a red one too. But they are out of stock at the moment and their green one cost more for some ?? reason. You mentioned that for 3S setup, you place the 2600 battery all the way to the front. Does this mean that a 3S setup with a 2200 battery needs some lead at the nose? Any idea as how much weight is required to perfectly balance the plane with a Zippy compact 2200mAh 3S (181 g)?

I'm interested in getting this plane, but was just wondering - what prevents a propeller blade from snapping off when the plane is landing? (Wouldn't a blade catch the ground upon landing, and snap off?)

Get a copy of the ESC manual and you can go into the programming mode using your Tx.
What is going on with the hobby king site. It won't load on on my computer and when it does takes forever.
Are other websites working? Works fine right now for me, in the US. Maybe it's your ISP?
I have no problem with other sites just hobby king. Just won't load most of the time and when it does load up it's a nightmare to get around it.

The Aeromodeling world has changed ,for the better , debatable ???? ..I've been in this hobby since the late 60's as a boy , just can't get used to a vacuum cleaner electric motor sound low runway pass. Sad a lot of new aeromodelers that just retired and taken up the hobby for the first time have never experienced a mighty 4 stroke combustion engine flight ,the sound of a roaring beautiful scale Spitfire slow rolling in a slow pass right to left down a runway..Electric power like this is just .... mmmmm..doesn't cut it..

Anyone know why the Green one cost way more than the "out of stock" Red one? Interesting. Is it just price gouging? Supply and demand, Out of Stock increases the price of in stock models. Shame on that BS. But it's always about the money of course. World would be a better place with fewer bean counters....and Lawyers, and politicians, and expensive foam toys, Need I go on? Sorry....Got carried away...I want a Red one darn it.
