The Highlands’ rich history stretches back 4,000 years. In prehistoric times, Highlanders lived in homes built out over lochs, called crannogs, and buried their dead amid mystical stone configurations, or cairns. Thanks to the efforts of modern Scots, you can still admire crannogs and cairns today. #ricksteveseurope #scotland #scottishhighlands

It's amazing how many places in the British isles that Rick has visited were built "about 4,000 years ago" ;)

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of visiting any cairns - we don't think of them as 'sacred', we're not really a religious country. Just accord them the same respect you'd give any other historically and culturally significant site and you'll be fine.

Mega-short two minute videos are not entertaining. If anything they are annoying. Please return to your former glory of creating wonderful, interesting, *longer* videos. Thank you.
