Please be careful many people fall into the alcohol bandwagon. Beer 55 Cents. 750 cc rum vodka wine all about $8. Beer at a bar $1 to $1.50. When you rent an apartment check for water marks around the rental property to make it does not flood. Don't be in a hurry for woman, rental. Get to know people and decide who is BS or truly helpful. Have a god time and learn Khmer numbers and greetings. Been here 10 years (Battambang) and love it.

Being someone from a indigenous pueblo in Puebla, Mexico and having been to Cambodia I honestly see the similarities between our countries and the struggles we come from the one thing they don’t have is extortion from drug cartels or work by force/threat
They have that in Cambodia too it's just done by police and military members. They still have a huge drug growing and trafficking industry for pot as well. One of the biggest players for pot that gets into East and Southeast Asia.

These people are poor. Somehow, I dont feel the danger like I would feel in many hoods here in America. These people look like they are survivors. I would be more scared walking in certain streef of Miami, New York ir Chicago.

It's not comparable. Here it seems everyone is poor, no one to steal from. This is depressing, I feel bad for them.
What this video does not show you is that Cambodians are survivors.
A bag of plastics may only bring you 75 cents but that is enough to feed 4 people for the day. Many homeless will live at the Buddhist pagodas, the pagodas have schools and many elderly that help you. The Buddhist pagodas will feed you and help you. No drugs and no alcohol at a Cambodian Buddhist pagodas.
That’s what makes Cambodia unique. Many countries in Europe and Americas go by faith based rule in Christianity✝️. A lot of African and Asian countries have the faith of Islam☪️. However, Cambodia goes by the teachings of Buddhism☸️ and learn to help people. That’s why the Cambodian people are very nice!

- j'y enseignerais les mathématiques, la physique-chimie, l'électricité, l'électronique et le calcul scientifique sur ordinateur à des jeunes khmers
- puis je les enverrais à Phnom-Penh ou à l'étranger pour faire leur formation de spécialité ( travaux publics, énergies nouvelles, télécommunications,... )

J'ai quitté mon pays, le Cambodge, en 1973 pour vivre en France . Je parle couramment le français, le khmer et le vietnamien . Je me débrouille en anglais et en espagnol .

the slum life in Cambodia is a little better as compared to my country (PHL) , here you can find a lot of people outside their houses and on the streets.. doing various things or just hanging out.. very noisy both people and vehicles.... a lot of motorcycles, and a lot more..

Every countries has its beauty side and the ugliest side. Cambodia histories and cultures are riches and plentiful of natural resources and minerals you’ll be fascinated the real beauty and a bountiful lands that Cambodia possess. Cambodia has been always in war to defense our country from adversities as neighboring countries invaders we lost in territories and in sizes that’s was once an immense Empires that covers half of SEA. Then in the modern time Genocides (1975-1979)happen again we lost half Millions of people mostly among their rank are Doctors, Engineers,Magistra,politicians and intellectuals people are loosing their lives through executions. I have a huge respect for Cambodia country and for the people that overcome the sufferings and anguish that left behind during the period of atrocities .
You can’t compare to a country that has been devastated by war for decennies but no matter what I’ve still admired for their resilient and Cambodia still smiling and stand strong. As myself I have visited many Modern countries that hasn’t been affected by the war and I’ve seen worser and darker side compare to Cambodia. Plus Cambodian citizens don’t have the basic needs nor health benefits from the Government. They survived on their own means. Huge respect 🙏🇺🇸🇰🇭❤️❤️❤️

So where is the real essence of true Cambodia ??

But nonetheless, Cambodia is still pretty much a very dirty country in rubbish management and lack of cleanliness as a culture. We have been, have seen and have known it for sometime. Just watch world progress report on human development and Cambodia is not far off the bottom list. So what is this clips purpose is rather baffling and why on earth would people want to compare slums. Wouldn’t it be better in showing people cleaning up their slums together and upgrading local habitat 😮
