This is the history of the Eastern Roman Empire in 476 AD. Will the empire flourish again or perish forever? The Western Roman Empire has already fallen, and many Germanic tribes are not making it easy for the remaining empire in the East.

Series idea:
Playing as the 'Varangian Guard', a vassal of Byzantium in crimea. Culture should be norse/varangian? and religion maybe germanic for raiding, alternatively theres a culture perk that allows dukes and counts of a culture to raid no matter the government (Practiced Pirates). The goal would be to protect/expand the empire by helping your liege in wars while trying to become emperor through the new Regent system, utilizing the new tournaments to amass money and fame. Viking Byzantium anyone?

good video but 1 problem. at 17:31 u say that u needed to change the culture cuz there were romans in the population now. but the thing is in reality the eastern romans still considerd themselvs romans. and the city of rome wasent even that roman anymore with its population declining from 1 miliion to 25,000 and being mixed with nomads and drifters.

@@theemperoraurelius oh I know, but that one is with humans, not ayleid elves. Maybe a Alan Scythian Zoroastrian ck3 campaign? The Alan's were the last remaining Scythian tribe left during the medieval era, and the language was also the last of its kind. Scythian religion was most similar to Zoroastrianism, seeing as they worshiped many of the same gods. It was essentially a pre Zoroastrian Iranian faith, with Zoroaster coming as a prophet to those same gods. It could best be described as a similar situation to Judaism and Christianity. If you were to play this idea, I would recommend arewordik Zoroastrianism, not just for Scythians, but for any more ancient themed Persian empire you may want to play, like a achemenid or parthian revival campaign!
