    If I would have made this video, I would have focused on what components in the brushed motor generate the heat and how this is mitigated in the brushless one. Because this is the whole point of "brushless" and hence the difference between them.
    Instead, this video is focused on descriptive explanation, it doesn't succeed in making a point.

      I am brand new to RC cars and mine has a brushed motor. It seems people prefer brushless though. Because of you, I know the brushless creates less heat. How does this make it a better choice for RC? Thank you.

    What about DC motors such as fans in PCs which are DC motors, but have no speed controller? I can connect a brushless DC fan direct to power and it runs. Is there a built in ESC in these little motors? Thanks.

      Yes some small cooling fans do have little PWM controllers built in. It is usually to get higher RPM and air flow from 12 and 24volt fan motors. If you have an external voltage controller in your PC for quiet operation, these fans will just reduce speed as if connected directly to the motor coils too, ok?

      Ok well then just remember that a motor with brushes has DC power applied directly to it, and a Brushless motor is an AC 3 phase motor with a "Fabricated" AC voltage applied to it. I say fabricated because it is DC voltage that is switched thru power transistors to produce AC currents in the motor windings with what is called PWM technology, this help?

      Possibly but not usually. As long as the drive current is limited to 100% of name plate amp rating it will be ok.

      @@GalcoIndustrial A "universal" motor can have either AC or DC applied to it and it has brushes. And as they are series motors, they do not use a permanent magnet. You can also have a PM motor that has no brushes.
