2018 Billie had clinical depression, suicidal ideation, basically at that point she just wanted to die. Her family started watching her 24/7 in case she tried to kill herself (in fact, this was the basis of her Everything I Wanted track).
This is why she reacted so strongly to the photo of herself smiling (note that the video froze at the moment she held up the photo, they didn't want to show her expression).

On a positive note, sounds like she's just maturing. 15 and 18 year old me would match hers in the vid. And my wardrobe in my 20's was very very black.
So her change and her energy aren't out of the ordinary but if feels like she's seen some shit. Had a sobering experience and had to steel herself and grow up. One of those moments you can't unsee and a little more of your childhood is chipped away. Like realising your parents do the nasty.
