We appreciate your transparent and passionate content bro. Plus you don’t gate keep great information from those in the market for c7z06 like myself. You’re a real one 💯
I absolutely love my C8 but watching this vid makes me miss my previous 4 Vettes that were all manuals. The C8 is an amazing daily driver and the tech has definitely spoiled me, but I often wonder about getting a C7 Z or Grand Sport convertible with a manual for a more visceral experience.
My 2016 7-speed was stolen at the Dolphins game, so I know about buying it again I now have a 15 with 14k miles. The car is amazing, and virtually impossible to replace It is simply the best car you can buy with a manual transmission
That car has just the right amount of Tech in it.. I can't stand the newer cars out now with all the Ipad screens.. I rented a car a month ago and barely knew how to get the heat going or work the radio.. It's nuts.. I'm not young anymore so I never really cared for them turning our cars into PC's on wheels.. But it is what it is if you want the latest and great cars out.. Cars are soo fast these days too. When I was 16 we had the Foxbodys and the C4's.. We thought 225 to 350 HP was power back then.. It's crazy how much power people can get now straight from the factory.. Oh and LOL I like cars that kind of scare me too.. That's the best way to say it really, and I think that's why people love the manuals soo much.. When you have a manual with a lot of power it feels different and a little scary ever time.. It's not like a new 10 speeds where it's the same old thing Bah, bah, bah, bah, bang bang bang into gear.. You just mash the pedal and hold the wheel straight it kind of boring to me.. But don't get me wrong I know these auto's are nasty fast and that's why people love them. There's nothing touching these new DCT's but the Manuals are just soo much more fun to drive.
I'm enjoying your channel,...I have a 19 z06-manuel.transm..stoc motor -love it!!!..my question is...why shood it matter if Manuel or automatic??..the transm. are in the back of the car. it does not touch the engine...also the coolers are in the rear.
@@scottbarker9058 it’s because the torque converter and multi plate clutches produce signifying heat under heavy load. The manual doesn’t have a torque converter. But honestly you won’t have any issues unless you track it very aggressively for a consecutive amount of laps, and even then it’s not guaranteed to happen.
Save The Manuals, Great Video.. And the car sounds great. I have a 17 Manual Coyote GT and didn't want to spend a ton on a Cat Back, So I went with an Xpipe and an Axle back and my car sounds great now.. And nothing is cheap on any of these cars out these days.. My God they wanted like $1,800 to 3,000 for a Cat back. Car parts are next level when it comes to the cost on these things.. Oh and I have the Infamous MT82 so I know all about that notchy feeling in the gears.. But I managed to find a decent trans fluid for my Gearbox and did a few cheap supporting Mods around it. And now she feels butter smooth once she's all the way warmed up. I'm sure there's ways to smooth yours out too. But anyway great car and great video.. Oh yeah and I couldn't imagine having a seventh gear, i'm always hanging out in 5th as it is.. LOL..
Yeah 7th gear shouldn’t be here haha. I’m always in 5th too, rarely ever 6th. I tried different trans fluid but unfortunately no difference smoothing it out. Thanks for watching!

I have a 2016 A8 with 50K miles. One cracked wheel for me as well. I put a Factory Reproduction wheel on. Far less expensive than OEM and still good 4 years later. I never felt good about turning the gas nozzle upside down but have been able to fill if I just slow up the flow a bit. The gas issue also doesn't occur at every pump. I am eyeing C8Z's but am wondering if I'd miss the 650 TQ my C7Z has. Also, do you have to run >4K rpm all the time in the C8Z?
@@Rob9mm I didn’t miss the torque with my c8z but you can definitely feel it in the lower gears (usually where you city drive). Once you get up to speed and onto the highway they feel the same. It climbs up the rev range very quick so under full throttle it doesn’t feel any slower than the c7z. You don’t need to be over 4 k rpm all the time.

@@josephpadilla5973 if the c8 is a daily driver and you really value the creature comforts, nose lift, etc, I would stick to the c8. However the c7z will bring you a lot more joy with the supercharger and if it’s a manual, even more fun factor. Years ago I was going to trade my c7z for a loaded c8 stingray but after driving it, I was 100% glad I kept the c7z. Ultimately I’d tell you to test drive it first then you’ll know for sure. But personally, C7Z is my vote
I have both a c8 stingray z51 and a c7 z06 manual. If you can swing for both, you won’t regret it. If you can only have one, then I agree with Cro. The C8 is probably better as a single car daily. I would say the c7 z06 is a better second if you have another daily driver and you want something more visceral. For me, I have to drive the C8 in Z mode with everything wide open and traction control completely off to have fun, but it still doesn’t sniff the level of engagement of the c7 z06.
