Since he looks at the comments… what about us 2 doorers? I wanted a 392 or diesel Jeep Rubicon 2 door. I’m definitely a Jeep fan, but I feel they leave me behind (a guy who is on his 6th Jeep Wrangler) sometimes. I will always want a solid axle (I’ll take portal axles tho) 2 door wrangler that is the best off-roader around. With that said, I do plan on adding the Jeep Recon if it can do the rubicon and I’ll wheel the heck out of it!
@@sorrywrongnumber5280 I’m with you… if I could have afforded it, I wanted to put a hemi in my 2012 JK. Hope you read this one too, Jim Morrison. Can you "Break on through to the other side" of your fleet and give us a 4xe Gladiator? I want to be one of the "Riders of the Storm" of the electric wave. C'mon Jimmy, light my fire of inspiration to head into the dealership and order a 4xe Gladiator! Can't you see that I am not afraid to make the jump into electric. That is all
I daily drive a 1998 Grand Cherokee 4.0, and drive my 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 on the weekends. Can't wait to see how the new electric Jeep compares. Thanks for making awesome products!
Mr Morrison - Thank you for listening to your customers. Truly. Many execs seem to "listen" to how customers speak through sales alone. Chasing what is hot to is not stewardship of the brand. Were I offered a Lamborghini in trade for my Gladiator, I wouldn't take it (unless I could flip it and buy my truck back). Choices are good and evolution is inevitable. Please, maintain the vision and do it the right way. My son will be driving in 6 years, and he is set on inheriting my truck so I can get into a new Jeep and adventure together. His first time turning a wrench was installing sway bar endlinks for my MOPAR lift kit. My 5yo daughter is right behind him and loves "windy hair" driving while belting out the Frozen soundtrack. We wouldn't be doing any of that in a Lamborghini...
Need a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a permanent hardtop with a cargo/ roof top tent rack system for overlanding. Less dust, water leaks, and don't have to buy an aftermarket $2000. rack system.
Absolutely nailed it indeed! Tommy and Jim have a great dynamic on camera. Jeep has possibly the brightest future in the industry and I can tell why with a leader that is so excited about the product.
Completely affordable, 60k start to 79k start depending on trim, according to C&D. The only reason they are keeping 50/50 ev and ice is to gauge how many people will actually buy it. I don't care what any RUclips comment says, most new ice cars are not affordable and the EV cars knocked the unaffordable out of the park. So if the top trim starts at almost 80k, imagine what the expensive SUVs, like land rover, will cost that are electric. In all it will push the world to be more expensive. More expensive taxes more expensive repairs more expensive insurance. Whatever, off-roading at $80,000 vehicle is expensive most people just wash and wax them, and go to walmart. My coworker spent his entire life savings on a 392 Wrangler, 85k. The Top Model will start at 79K. So 90 to 100k Jeep fully loaded Top Model. There's always someone out there but for the most part you're not going to buy an almost $100,000 Jeep and bring it off-road. Big off-road tires cost a lot of money to replace use of energy to move whether it's fuel or electricity, make handling worse, make enclosed parking harder. I'm not against it it's just not for me. And I think if you're going to do any off-roading you're better off getting something older that you don't mind beating up.
The wrangler should always have solid axles. And we used our old jk and now gladiator to drive 1000 miles to Colorado and wheel the trails then drive home. So electric just won’t work because of the time it takes to charge versus just a couple minutes to buy gas.
Great interview. Can hardly wait to see Jeeps products on the show room floors. Giant leap into the 21 century. Jeeps on the moon? Where no Jeep has gone before.
Glad to hear that Jeep designers listen to their existing customers. Most are like me, I currently own 3 Jeeps, bought my first one in college, and have owned 4 others as well. I bought an almost new 93 Grand Cherokee after watching the video that was referenced related to it driving through a glass and it shattering 😊. Cool and memorable intro 👍
I just wished you guys would have put supercharged 5.7 in the Rams as an option before going out. Never really did much with those 5.7s Yeah the in line 6 twin turbo makes more power but the Roar of the v8 will be missing.
Super happy to hear Jeep is keeping the bandwidth of EV to V8 in Wrangler! From the consumer side Jeep makes it that much more appealing to have the option, still a V8 fan boy I must admit!
Jim seems like a genuinely cool guy. If he sees this comment, I just want to ask again for a 5.7L Hemi option for Gladiator/Wrangler the same way y’all have for Grand Cherokees and Rams! Please! The 392 is awesome, but just not a financial possibility for the vast majority of us. Make the 5.7L hemi a few thousand dollar option for the gladiator and wranglers!
Before buying my current 2021 Wrangler Rubicon I was all in on getting a 4xe, until I found out they will not start in extreme cold unless plugged in. I live in a place where we see -30°c regularly, so not being able to start was an absolute deal breaker. I could drive to work, but after 8 hours I'd have to have my Jeep towed home? Just doesn't make sense for a brand that prides itself on being able to do what other vehicles can't. I REALLY hope this gets changed/fixed with future iterations of the 4xe. I would still love to own one one day. But for now, I'm SUPER happy with my 2 door Rubicon. 😁
I have a gladiator rubicon which i love. I do have a question though - will there ever be a super charger or turbo for the gladiator? This could be very helpful for towing and up in higher elevations.
My only complaint about my gladiator is the driver's seat. The manual height adjustment will not stay up where i like it. I have to repeatedly jack it back up every time i get into it.
Great video! Good to see true excitement from an executive. I grew up with being driven around in a Jeepster, Grand Wagoneers, and taking my drivers test in a 97 Cherokee. My uncles have had CJ7s and many others and my dad now has a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JKU. They have all been fantastic, capable vehicles, with something special baked in. I feel like Jim gets this and wants to continue to make them special and more than just the sum of parts. Haters will be haters but it truly seems to continue to be a brand that connects with people's hearts, and their passion for vehicles and the outdoors. Thank you!
Don’t know for sure, but I bet there will be lesser trims available with a solid steel roof. They always show the highest, most aspirational trim on the concepts.
Jim glad you read the comments, hopefully this one finds you. I would love to see an EV wrangler and gladiator with MOAs. You would still have solid axles front and rear with the same capabilities. MOAs eliminates tranny, driveshafts and transfer case. That’s a lot of room for batteries. I hope y’all already have this concept on the drawing board. I’d sell one of my kidneys for a fully electric gladiator with MOAs 😂.
It was clear to me the Recon is designed to take up where the wrangler leaves off in price probably to keep with the Defender better. It allows for multiple things. 1) To keep Wrangler the more accessible option. 2) Allow Recon to have a luxury interior it needs. Theres only so much you can do to make a budget interior nice. 3) EV tech isn’t cheap enough to make 100% Wrangler yet in anything that is $70k.
I love how Jim says he reads these comments. Jim, please make the 392 Wrangler available in Australia. Please please please. Even if it’s priced hi. We love the Trackhawk.
Great interview. Thank you Jeep for keeping us true off readers in mind. I’ve had multiple Wranglers from CJ, YJ, JK. All are great. I do miss the smaller dimensions of the pre JK Wranglers. Maybe a shortcut CJ5 like Jeep is in the future that is very affordable and bare bones.
My dream Jeep would be a DIESEL / ELECTRIC hybrid. And I hope one day Jeep creates an OFF-ROAD overland VAN, with solar panels on the roof, and a pop up roof like the VW Westfalia. I would buy that in a heartbeat.
Don't think anyone is against ev. Everyone's is against this aggressive push for ev with inadequate infrastructure and terrible battery technology/chemistry.
Jim!!!! Do you want to know what I’m thinking? I’m thinking I’ve been wanting 1/2 doors for my 2020 JLUR. Why can’t I purchase them like I could for my JKUR? I know I can peice them together, but that’s an extremely expensive option. I’ve had 1/2 doors on all the wranglers (5) I’ve owned since my first TJ in 1997 while in the military.
So cool to see the CEO paying attention to the customers that drive the brand, pun intended. I have a 392 on order to celebrate the end of ICE but I’m sure an electric Jeep is in my future.
I look forward to electric offroading someday once the charging network is properly built out and charging is as quick and easy as filling up with gas. But here’s the thing, just because you put an electric power plant in it doesn’t mean everything else has to electric and digital too. So here’s what I don’t want: - I don’t want all of my gauges to be digital. Keep the current mix of digital and mechanical you currently have on the Wranglers/Gladiators -I don’t want all of my adjustments to be on a touchscreen. Keep the current mix of digital and knobs and buttons you currently have on the Wranglers/Gladiators. With regard to both of these issues- duplication is key for offroading. There are certain times in life when you want multiple ways to do something on the vehicle. -I don’t want an electronic hand brake. -I don’t want systems that determine for me my offroad traction systems and settings. Let me decide when to lock the diffs (or simulate it in an ev), let me decide when to disconnect the sway bar, let me decide when to put it into 4 hi or 4 low. If you want to have terrain management selector system that will do this for the driver based on the type of terrain the driver selects, fine. But also allow the driver to do it himself/herself. -I don’t want air suspension. Keep that away from your hardest core offroaders please. -I don’t want autonomous driving, lane assist, parking sensors, and all the other electronic nancies that are a pain in the a$$ offroad and that you have to switch off every time you restart the vehicle. You want to have all these things as options fine, just make sure I can buy a model without them. - I wish you would keep solid axles, but this may already be too late. But please at least keep a solid rear axle. Articulation is one of THE places where Jeeps really stand out among their competitors and one reason I came back to Jeep. Having wheels off the ground offroad is no fun. -I don’t want electronics to open and close things that I can easily do manually- for example I don’t need an electronic opening tailgate on a Gladiator like on that stupid Rivian (which they put the button to open and close in a location that means you can’t put a cap on it- brilliant move for a supposed adventure vehicle). Basically, don’t follow the lead of Land Rover and Rivian.. I had a Land Rover LR4 I modified and wheeled, I came back go Jeep specifically because of these reasons. And I’ll never go to Rivian for the same reasons. Please, modernize, but Be Jeep!
If Jeep really reads these comments, I wish there was a 4xe or 2.0L turbo in the Gladiator, I would have bought it over the 3.6. Gladiator needs a little more torque and horsepower. Overlanding gets heavy. Or you could take a page out of the Ford book and build a turbo 4 engine designed for higher output like the 2.3L they have in the Bronco 300-hp, 325-lbft I own 3 jeeps right now, 05 WK Hemi, 2020 WK2, and a 2022 JT.
The only question I have is will the recon or the Wrangler fully electric model have a solid electric motor axle and not independent so you get better articulation when you’re off roading
I hadn’t heard of the 4xE til TFL did the bronco vs 4xE jeep and that thing was impressive. I could def see ford doing the same thing getting that instance torque for off-roading. Still blown away gm hasn’t brought the blazer back into the off road world to compete
I really appreciate that he reads the comments. I want a truck/Jeep type EV vehicle with a power top and a nice on-road drive, that doesn't look like a family vehicle. I guess I am in the minority. :(
Got to admit, the title gave me anxiety. I have a 392 and I’m just not ready to go 4xe. I’d consider if it had more range. 20 miles just doesn’t seem worth my money.
....they put a Trail Rated badge on the Compass and the Fiat. They are great in the snow with good tires. They are not good on mild rocks a stick JK Sport can roll over.
Electric is overrated. No thanks. The grid required is not up to date to be reliable (what energy sources are going to fill the void? Sure isn't going to be wind and solar + need thousands more charging stations ).Plus, forget fixing anything yourself. You will be dependent on the dealerships for any routine maintenance and when problems arise. I'll wait as long as possible before going electric.
If they really do listen to the comments. Stop using aluminum if you can't prepare it right. Oh and the radios should not bug out all the time. Maybe one day Peugeot will make a Jeep worth of the name.
I finally figured out what the Recons face reminds me of, the H3. It makes me think of the H3s design but if it was redesigned for a modern era. I think that is why I'm so =/ on it, not that I don't like the H3 its just when I think jeep I want jeep front ends. Long grill slots, circular lights, mostly the long grill slots.
Since he looks at the comments, why not bring back the LJ or cherokee XJ? Make the 2 door jeep and LJ bc it’s barely practical and bring back the XJ on the wrangler platform
I wish they would do a 4xE Gladiator. It makes no sense to me that you can get a 392 v8 or a plug in hybrid Wrangler but you can’t get either in a Gladiator
Jeep needs to fix their corrosion issues like yesterday before they come up with anything else. Someone at the company needs to have the balls to say it's "not" ok.
Since he looks at the comments… what about us 2 doorers? I wanted a 392 or diesel Jeep Rubicon 2 door. 2 door 392 would be crazy
2 door 392 with a manual transmission. If I had that, there's no way I could ever get rid of it, I'd drive it my whole life.
The Defender 90 (2door) is available in a v8. Reviews say it’s crazy, can’t imagine a 392 2door Wrangler
The 4 door 392 already pops a wheelie on a prepped surface, so no, a 392 2 door isn’t gonna come.

Pretty damn cool that he reads the comments and is curious how the fans react. Feels like some brands don’t give two farts about their fans/customers
Jim, we need the 392 in the Gladiator! If it’s done right, because it narrower, it would be so much better than the Raptor and maybe even the TRX.
yes that would be nasty
Jim really does seem like a good fit for his position; a decent guy as well.

Love how vested Jeep is in TFL. Great to hear from the top dogs.
Better not get rid of the gas jeeps, I am still waiting on a 392 Gladiator!
Chip shortage issues?
They want EV or This 4XE hybrid
I like the direction Jeep is going, hybrid/EV for those that want it, and old school gas power for those that want it.
Yes, options are a good thing!
Absolutely! Going “green” doesn’t mean axe everything else!
Jeep if your listening we want a 392 or tti6 gladiator, NOW!

I'm sure the Recon could make it through the Rubicon. I saw Jeep out there, August of 2021, taking the new Grand Cherokee 4xE through there.

If Jeep really reads these comments, I wish there was a 4xe or 2.0L turbo in the Gladiator, I would have bought it over the 3.6. Gladiator needs a little more torque and horsepower. Overlanding gets heavy. Or you could take a page out of the Ford book and build a turbo 4 engine designed for higher output like the 2.3L they have in the Bronco 300-hp, 325-lbft
I own 3 jeeps right now, 05 WK Hemi, 2020 WK2, and a 2022 JT.
Please upgrade the shocks on the Rubicon 392 Recon similar to the Gladiator Mojave.
The only question I have is will the recon or the Wrangler fully electric model have a solid electric motor axle and not independent so you get better articulation when you’re off roading
I’m betting solid for the Wrangler-always. Recon looks to be independent.
Are those different mirror mounts?
I hadn’t heard of the 4xE til TFL did the bronco vs 4xE jeep and that thing was impressive. I could def see ford doing the same thing getting that instance torque for off-roading. Still blown away gm hasn’t brought the blazer back into the off road world to compete
I would like to see the Hurricane straight 6 in a Wrangler, it might get me to buy a new one but I still love my JKU.
I really appreciate that he reads the comments. I want a truck/Jeep type EV vehicle with a power top and a nice on-road drive, that doesn't look like a family vehicle. I guess I am in the minority. :(
Oh yes you are
Jim seems like a cool dude that cares about his customers, glad he's at jeep.
My wife and I just ordered new Jeeps! She got the limited edition purple reign. When are you guys going to show off that new color in person?
That would be so awesome to see you guys do that trail with them
Do you think there will be more range in the future on pure electric power...like 50 miles a chagre or maybe 100?
Yes it's going to be like an iPhone wherever you're it gets just marginally better and better.
Tommyyyyy 🫢🫣!! You didn’t ask about the Wagoneer !!! The Big Daddy 4XE Wagoneer. 🤗. .
If you take a stock recon or wrangler on the rubicon, it might be rubicon capable but you will definitly leave that trail with tons of damage.
Wondering if he said how much to replace the batteries?
Got to admit, the title gave me anxiety. I have a 392 and I’m just not ready to go 4xe. I’d consider if it had more range. 20 miles just doesn’t seem worth my money.
....they put a Trail Rated badge on the Compass and the Fiat. They are great in the snow with good tires. They are not good on mild rocks a stick JK Sport can roll over.
We definitely need to 2 things at the Gladiator plant. The 392 and the 4xe.
I just genuinely hope it is affordable and not more expensive than all other jeeps
I like the GC Trailhawk 4xe but I might be really interested in a GC L Trailhawk 4xe if they decide to build one.
Did Nathan leave TFL? Haven’t seen him in a long time.
Since he looks at the comments, why not bring back the LJ or cherokee XJ? Make the 2 door jeep and LJ bc it’s barely practical and bring back the XJ on the wrangler platform
Make a full size Jeep pickup truck. The Gladiator is too small. Hemi v8 please!
Is it just me or does he look like Mark Allen's twin brother? How is that for them in one company. LOL
Keep the manuals!
I wish they would do a 4xE Gladiator. It makes no sense to me that you can get a 392 v8 or a plug in hybrid Wrangler but you can’t get either in a Gladiator
Cause it’s very expensive and wrangler sales are way more than gladiators
@@andyham6094 The sad truth 😔 Personally I’d take the Gladiator over the Wrangler. Aside from the additional length, it’s all upside!
We need a 4xe Gladiator! I'll definitely be one of the first customers and definitely a few thousand more.
Jeep needs to fix their corrosion issues like yesterday before they come up with anything else. Someone at the company needs to have the balls to say it's "not" ok.
Jim, hey there. How about a Gladiator 392 HEMI, or since the 6.4L is dead after next year, a H.O. Hurricane.
