I understand that by nature dogs aren't wired to love hugs, but all of my dogs are huggers. They learn the behavior is affectionate early on. My Chow Chow is a huge snuggler and hugger. My Newfoundland LOVES hugs. None of them jump on my wife and I when we hug unless they're excited over something.
If you’ve raised your pup with lots of hugs and kisses and he still doesn’t love it, then accept that he’s just not a type of dog who’s interested in that stuff. Mine half loves hugs and half doesn’t. He likes the affection, but likes his space more lol.
@@emiledae Absolutely, but I've never encountered this. Even my Chow, which some people think are stand-offish, When I'm in bed she'll stretch out beside me, back to back, with her head on my pillow. She loves to bury her head in my chest and get hugs. Newfoundlands are even more like this. I've never once met a Newfoundland that didn't like to hug.
@@emiledae I shower him with lots of hugs and kisses that's why I kinda noticed that he's not quite into them. Maybe he does want his space some time or maybe most of the time?😀
Most dogs don't like it, though. None of my French bulldogs liked it. That's an extremely social breed, and 2 of them were cuddlebugs that loved physical contact, and all 3 would lick people's face when excited. They loved to have my arms around them when they were on a lap, but they didn't want face hugs/kisses. The problem is that most people don't notice. I see so many pictures online where people hug their dogs, and the dog does the whale eye and/or lick their lips, or even try to pull away. And the owner says "my dogs loves hugs and kisses!" I always advice people to test that theory by hugging them/kissing them without holding them in place to see if they pull away. I've only had 1 dog that leaned into me in response. The others all withdrew.
dogs bring so much happiness but also sadness when there gone losing my dogs has been the hardest thing i've ever dealt with in life even now 2 years later i'm still grieving and hurting deep inside
Get another one. I lost a 13.5 year old in August 2021. I have another that is now 13 that is almost ready to go. Luckily, I still have my 8.5 year old. I'll get another after this next one goes. But not right away. The new ones are never the same but they turn into your best buddies anyway. It is good to have a younger one in the pipeline for when an older one passes.
I’ve heard the pooping one before. I wonder how much aggravating it would be if I get a worried look and run mid-poop. I’m sure the dog would love that.
We have a dachshund that would turn his butt to the other dog when play fighting. When he could get close enough he'd pounce. Interesting that he knows enough to use a trust signal to his advantage.
Haha I’ve seen my moms younger dog do that to the older alpha during play..she really bumps her with her rear lol it’s cute. They’re chihuahua terrier mixes
My dog would make little woofs and kick her feet. I always imagine she was dreaming of squirrels. The muzzle grab has something to do with some of the mauling of children. Theirs always a hierarchy in the family and dogs will see themselves as somewhere between the parents and the children. If the parents are not in the room or even just not paying attention, they view themselves as higher in the hierarchy than the children and may try to correct the children the same way they’d correct puppies. This is why children get bitten on the face or head. To make matters worse, puppies instinctively know that a muzzle grab means stop and they stop moving, which stops the muzzle grab. Human children don’t react that way. They cry and struggle, causing the dog to bite harder. It’s not always that dogs are viscous.
My German Shepherd does this every time I wake up and I meet him at the bottom of the stairs I call him my prince bowing down to his queen and I just praise him and I love on him for doing it for me
3:36 to 3:55 I SWEAR THAT'S BOTH OF MY DOGS EVERYDAY. The left is my maltipoo and the right is my minature poodle and my poodle always bites the other's ear and he yelps but a minute later they start fighting again 😂😂😂
My dog was like that when I was kid. My dad would go to give me a hug, my dog would always get in between, and look at me like: "Hey, all your love is supposed to be directed toward me."

Do you always talk to your dog after vomits to ask it what's going on an animal will just be an animal and we as humans don't have a language to truly communicate with an animal
My little guy likes it when I kind of take my palm and alternate pushing his body and his muzzle from side to side, like I was slapping him. He does the open-mouth mock play-bite, with panting, like he was playing with another dog, and I also just kind of......pet him roughly, and say "I'm gonna fight the puppy! I fight him!" over and over.
He wants to engage with you and is providing an item he knows has value. Redirect to an appropriate toy/treat and give a few minutes play and pets. Dogs live in the moment and once you get back they remember how much they missed you all at once.
My dog growing up used to do the front leg stretch on command, but only for my dad. She used to walk over to him and do that so that her paws were on his feet and he always said “bow to the master” when she did that on her own as a puppy, so when she was older if he said that, she’d usually do it. Not always though. And certainly not for anyone other than him.
Most dogs don't like hugs, though. I see so many hug-pictures of dogs online where the dog clearly does the whale-eye, licks their lips or even tries to get away. Especially when it's a face hug, not a body hug. The best way to determine if the dog is okay with face hugs or kisses is to hug without holding them. I've had 5 dogs, and only 1 of them would lean into that. The others would move away. 4 of them still loved cuddling on the couch, so a lot of people never understand that there's a difference in how the dog experiences those things.
02:55 Not exactly the same thing - but you should also remember that dog's don't have hands (like humans) and often use their mouths to grip hold of things too. Think of times where you hold something... and think of times where your dog would like to "hold" something, but you've discouraged them to use their mouths. I understand this behavior with my Staffie, and we've come to an understanding around certain actions, sometimes she bites my arm (just to grab hold), for balance and to climb down off something gently and slowly. So, when they use their mouths during play - it's likely for the same reason.... it's their way of hugging/holding, directing the other dog.
My dog actually uses her teeth to play with me. LOL!!! I really believe she thinks I'm a fellow dog, while she totally respects my husband. He's her alpha.
I have a soon to be 2 years old Shetland sheepdog! (He’s the one in my profile picture) and he is my soulmate, my best friend, my life, my love. I whould die for him
Actually, when my dogs play, one bites the other, hard. And when the other dog yelps, she doesn’t care. She just continues. And the dog keeps getting hurt. And he is now just trying to defend himself
If it goes too far you can calmly intervene. Don’t raise your voice, say or do anything agitated, just push then apart and tell the one being too rough stop, be gentle. When they’ve settled you can let them play again. If it’s only one yelping and alot and the other won’t back down it’s ok to set boundaries. But not punishment. Also the dog now defending itself is learning to say no in a different way, which is fine, but if you see it get stressed out and in avoidance ane the other one won’t stop it’s ok to be te referee. Momm dogs do it all the time with pupps, especially if she gets to keep them longer than is common in the US, after week 8 the moms give the puppies more freedom/alone time, but also stricter instructions on dog on dog behavior. The puppy with the exessive approach will learn alot from good natured adult dogs, a very important part of socialization, so make sure to hang around experienced dog owners with secure and social older dogs too, and let them teach the pupp what’s good manners.
My little dog used to sleep with me in my arms. So I was amazed to realise she was having "falling" dreams. You know? When you dream you're suddenly stepped into a shaft and jerk awake? That always the night after we've been hiking on the mountain and had to negotiate some steep scrambles.
Why do you say it as if only dogs stare at others while they poop. I always stare at family or guests when I poop. Need to make sure they are keeping a lookout while I take a massive dump on the neighbor’s lawn.
Love this video, I always look away when my dog goes to the bathroom cause I assume she didn’t want me to look at her, now I’ll look lol. but I was hoping you’d mentioned why do they come to you while you’re in the bathroom
My Jack Russell x Chihuahua does the muzzle thing with my nose, and he loves a fun rough and tumble interspersed with affectionate rubs from me and licks from him ❤
I had a 150 pound Rottweiler mastiff mix and a 6 pound chihuahua and it always seemed like the big boy would be the one who stops play fighting and I always assumed it was because he didn’t want to hurt the chihuahua but after seeing this I’m starting to think he was just losing the fight
they are not being what you thing is “jealous”, for example, don’t liking the other person, they are jealous in the way of looking affection too, words don’t mean the same, that’s why sometimes you have to negate and replicate the same word when people don’t understand... There is the truth and the TRUTH
Watching this video made me remember, when I was a kid, and was afraid of the dark & all that, I actively turned my butt towards "safety" meaning a wall, a lit area, a trusted person, or down on the bed if I was lying down, and I kept my focus on potential danger or directions with the unknown. I did this anytime it was dark out, or I was fearful about something. The only times I couldn't do it was when I was walking in complete darkness, like going home from my neighbor's house. I also specifically choose not to run while walking vulnerable, because then it would sound like there's footsteps behind me that weren't mine. Good times. It's nerve-wracking, but also brilliant to have survival instincts
I don't know why Im watching this. I don't have a dog. There's a dog in the house but she's nothing to do with me. 😂 The cats are mine. Edit: "our" labrador howls in her sleep.
My dog gets super jealous when we dog sit for our neighbors. Hell growl at the dog were sitting when he comes up to greet us, whenever he jumps on the couch with us to hang out. And overall just being really annoying when we play ball with the dog we’re sitting.
if you say going to bathroom you are not specifying what you are going to do, if you stay toilet, a french word by the way, you are directing describing that you are going to shit or pee

I understand that by nature dogs aren't wired to love hugs, but all of my dogs are huggers. They learn the behavior is affectionate early on. My Chow Chow is a huge snuggler and hugger. My Newfoundland LOVES hugs. None of them jump on my wife and I when we hug unless they're excited over something.
how did you train yours to be huggers? mine doesn't like to be hugged😢
And the owner says "my dogs loves hugs and kisses!"
I always advice people to test that theory by hugging them/kissing them without holding them in place to see if they pull away. I've only had 1 dog that leaned into me in response. The others all withdrew.
Every time my dogs poops and stares at me, I tell him "I got your back bro, no worries you good"...lol 🤣
dogs bring so much happiness but also sadness when there gone losing my dogs has been the hardest thing i've ever dealt with in life even now 2 years later i'm still grieving and hurting deep inside

Is it too hard to have a pet dog
My German Shepherd does this every time I wake up and I meet him at the bottom of the stairs I call him my prince bowing down to his queen and I just praise him and I love on him for doing it for me

Your dog doesn't know what love is, only behavior.

Why does my dog bring shoes or other things to me when I return home?
He becomes almost frantic to get something with which to greet me.
He wants to engage with you and is providing an item he knows has value. Redirect to an appropriate toy/treat and give a few minutes play and pets. Dogs live in the moment and once you get back they remember how much they missed you all at once.
@@andiward7068 makes sense. Thanks
How do dogs not know what hugging is, when i hug them 10 hours a day
Most dogs don't like hugs, though.
Some of this is not always true. The best thing to do is to GET TO KNOW YOUR POOCH! The deepest of bonds will tell you everything you know.
My dog actually uses her teeth to play with me. LOL!!! I really believe she thinks I'm a fellow dog, while she totally respects my husband. He's her alpha.
You aren’t supposed to let your dog know its okay to use teeth with humans thats how bites occur on yourself or others.

Love the video.
Dogs are the best. ❤️❤️
If they poop in your own yard, because your yard is fenced, then you can let them out without being present to be stared at.

So they are not being jealous but in fact they are being jealous.
they are not being what you thing is “jealous”, for example, don’t liking the other person, they are jealous in the way of looking affection too, words don’t mean the same, that’s why sometimes you have to negate and replicate the same word when people don’t understand... There is the truth and the TRUTH
@@juap You seem confused. Maybe you should revisit the meaning of jealous / jealousy in the English language.
Watching this video made me remember,
when I was a kid, and was afraid of the dark & all that, I actively turned my butt towards "safety" meaning a wall, a lit area, a trusted person, or down on the bed if I was lying down, and I kept my focus on potential danger or directions with the unknown.
