Yes, so proud and strong that now in 2018 they bow before their muslim masters and offer their women as rape victims. They offer their own children to the brainwashing. So proud and so strong that the UK is an Islamic state......England, Scotland and Wales have all been conquered, not by foreign strength, but by internal weakness.
I was there for this performance and the video does not do them justice. The power that they can evoke with their music is beyond compare and I never pass up an opportunity to watch them preform, unlike anything else I've ever see or heard. In my option the best pipes band ever.
Yes, I agree. This is just one of many strong performances they did at this venue, and I hope that my humble video gives some hint of the power of this band.
Going to see them tomorrow at Gallabrae at Furman University. I have been waiting a whole year to chow down on haggis and bridies while rocking out to Albannach and Cleghorn again! Albannach was clearly the crowd favorite last year!
The earliest Scots in my family tree to immigrate to America was in the late 1600s (my little sister has been an avid geneaologist for 20 yrs)....Am mostly German, but was named after my two grandmothers maiden names-Scott (not related...lol)....Gotta do more research on clan Scott.....LOVE this music!!!!!
Saw them at the Festival For The Eno in Durham NC just before they headed off to play the Highland Games in NC. They did rock the audience and the following act was Chuck Davis African Dance Ensemble who were intrigued. Later they joined up on stage with much drumming and gyrating. I was there when the following act asked to give up their stage time to let them all continue. Good time had by all.
I wish I could get there C.D again . I went to Florida last year to see them from California and someone stole my CD the day after. I won't get to go this year but maybe next year. Unless they come here. Please come to Sacramento Albannach I love you! -Yanti ❤️
The playing of the Bagpipe was banned in Scotland after the uprising of 1745. They were classified as an instrument of war by the loyalist government. They were kept alive in secret.
Since time immemorial the beat of the drums stirs a SCOTSMANS blood. In World War 1 The Germans feared "The ladies from hell". As they knew they ALWAYS went forward never ran away. The SCOTTISH regiments do NOT have a beating of the retreat it is not in our nature. There are many cultures and races that have a "Beating of the retreat" NOT US. What we do have is a march to Barracks ruclips.net/video/MjKICkcugsU/видео.html
Image...an musical instrument that the British were afraid of....what assholes....they tried this in the U.S. banning playing any Dylan when I was in high school....small minds!!!
great stuff guys but I must point out that the scottish bagpipes weren't banned by the government in the 1750's, they've never in fact been banned as such. Maybe you're mixing the ban up with the ban on wearing tartan? now that was most definitely banned in 1746 after the defeat of the Scots led by Bonnie Prince Charlie at the battle of Culloden. Yes, I'm Scottish born and bred and still living in Scotland :-) but great playing!!
Just a footnote: the Sheriff ( a Campbell) had the authority to arrest and hang anyone not a Campbell wearing the kilt or playing the pipes.or he could merely fine them.his discretion...wor unto the MacDonalds!:)

bagpipes wew banned by the English crown, and then people made mouth music, to emulate the sound of the pipes
THOUGHT THE ENGLISH BANNED THE BAGPIPES AND THAT WAS WHEN THE MOUTH MUSIC CAME IN

There's something I don't get it. Scottish bagpipes music was outlawed some time ago..... Years or centuries ago???
Year 1745 they were banned.
I'd take that lass back home with me like she was from Lindisfarne. ;)
