Heals is a Bandung-based alternative rock/shoegaze/nugaze group. Formed in 2013, the band consists of Alyuadi Febryansyah (known as Aldead) and Reza Arinal (known as Ejasaurus) on guitar and vocals, Muhammad Ramdhan (known as Rara) on guitar, Octavia Variana on bass and vocals, and Adi Reza on drums. Their performance and creation are filled with layers of distorted guitar riffs, quirky sounds and effects, and streams of soft and melodious vocal, heavily influenced by bands like My Bloody Valentine, My Vitriol, Nirvana, and some Japanese bands. In their songs, listeners can experience their deepest imagination and anxiety in their narratives.
In 2014, their first single, Void, was uploaded digitally and had a warm reception. In 2015, the band signed on to FFWD Records, a legendary record label from Bandung. To this date, they’ve released one b-side cassette, which include two songs; Wave and Myselves. They’re now in final progress of making their debut full-album, which will be released at the beginning of this year.
Heals has had many memorable and important moments on festival stages in Indonesia including Intimacy (2015 & 2016), Thursday Noise (2016), Synchronize Fest (2016), A Create (2016), to Studiorama (2016). They’ve even performed in several stages outside Jakarta and Bandung, like Live Forever (Cirebon) and Hello Tomorrow (Tasikmalaya).
