The end of this with Common People is probably the greatest live spectacle there is. Imagine being The Strokes having to follow Pulp with your one mediocre album.
I'm not sure if it was the booze that I'd consumed, but this set was more special than any other that I've seen at any festival. Jarvis was perferctly tuned into the crowd. What a man!
Disco 2000 has to be there most iconic anthem of Britpop, I remember going to a Disco at Center Parcs, Elvedon Forest when I was 8 at the time and the DJ caught me wearing PULP t-shirt and he played Disco 2000 and now I'm 29
@@王大拿-z4b same as 26, except that I'm more unfit now then I was then 😂. 9 years ago we moved into our current house and it feels like yesterday, so not a whole lot has changed really.
I miss those times....its such a long time ago. Too much nostalgia for me....and we are not ever coming back. Jarvis looks like a clerk or a teacher, but he is truly a great performer. Incredible.
What's amazing about this performance is that it was 2011, 16 years after the song came out. I doubt half the crowd were out of nappies when it came out!! Yet who stole the show? Yep, 90s guitar music rocks!!
The Strokes is a legendary band on its own and all, but how they were gonna follow up this amazing set is beyond me. That being said, with Pulp, The Strokes, Muse and MCR, for me Reading 2011 was one of the greatest lineups ever assembled back then. As great as Oxegen 2006 when The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Placebo championed the stage
@@doctorwhat3683 No way. Common People lyrical wise is genius and represent the 90s period of Britpop of working class. I just love Pulp, they are just so so so different compare to the mainstream Britpop
It's amazing how much people age! I saw Pulp live during the V-96 FESTIVAL in Warrington. It's been 15 years now... Jarvis hasn't lost his verve. He still looks like he was back in the day! Any one remember the 'Virgin' vodka cola? lol.

I love how they look as though they just finished their 9-5 job at the office
Jajajajajajaja
They’re just common people
nick, cándida, jarvis etc have the antistar even more attractive posse
You could say they look like common people
Pulp & Co. Chartered Accountants
This used to be just a great song. Now it breaks my heart because I am living it.
It's a great song because we've all been there - or are there now; it's great because it's relatable.
Yea we can all relat to this
@The Dissident Brit how you doing now?
A woman from your teenage years got on with life and you're heartbroken?
@@oliviahussey535 nah im 15 and i havent experienced that yet but i still love this song. i love pulp in general
As a performer, he has few equals. He knows how to put on a show.
Oddly he looks like Stephen Merchant in lipsync battle
I absolutely love the fact he clearly lets the music just take over and dance like a mad fool❤️👏🏻👏🏻

I've only heard this one and Common People tbh, do i count? 😅
RIP Steve, you will be missed. giving us one of the best bass lines.

I was never a huge a pulp fan back in the day but Jesus this song is an absolute anthem!
This is a mind blow, as this song was released in 1995 when Jarvis was 32 and I was 9. Now he's 49 and I'm 26 -- where has the time gone?

Massive Oasis and Roses fan, but this is the best Britpop/90’s song along with Live Forever.

False. Not the best britpop song, the best song. Period.

I think Jarvis would make a GREAT Doctor in the next Dr Who
they should cast him
I doubt he would do it. I don't think he's an actor.
Well Dr Who's house is rather small
I always felt David Tennant channeled a bunch of Jarvis when he was Dr Who.
Or a good Austin Powers, I mean he's got the looks already...
Colin Birdseye and there’s woodchip all over the walls :(
I've actually had the chance to see them performing and, unexpectedly, it was one of the best gigs I've ever seen! Such a great band..!
Bill Gates playing the greatest riff in the history of Britpop

I'm still baffled as to why they didn't just have Pulp headline the whole of that night
I reckon this song is probably better that common people
