This is actually a symptom of ADHD, impulsive buying and no self control oR memory of it, poor financial choices, LACK OF ORGANIZATION, and getting bored of things easily. No hate to her, I know she shared her adhd diagnosis not to long ago, and just wanted to share some AWARENESS❤

Vibes on that!! Growing up poor, and then when you have the means just going balls to the wall. As crazy as it is, I felt like it would heal my inner child that wanted to not wear the same clothes every week.
Start asking yourself questions before buying: when will I wear this? Why would I need this? Does this even shout “me?” Things like that… it’s may help! Lol
This is exactly me! Trying to heal my inner child not having anything growing up & only getting hand me downs because I was the youngest of 4 kids. I now have over 10K in credit card debt & I cannot stop wanting to make purchases every single day. I have a 15 year old son that I want to also give the world to & it’s just, HARD. 😞
Don’t set yourself up for failure! You can get out of this. Make more conscious efforts, and remind yourself what you tried so hard to break away from. Trust me, I had the same problem. But I found making more conscious efforts really work for me.

So basically that happened to me when I came to live in lisbon for the first time and I got a great job . I used to spend on everything I thought was cute because I have never had an opportunity to spoil me. Now I just buy what I think matches with me and it's really necessary . I love seeing my bank account with good numbers.

We try to fill a hole in ourselves with material things, but no matter how much we own, it will never actually heal us until we do the emotional work needed.

Girl I can relate so much as to why we have a shopping addiction. Growing up in a low income family, we really didn’t have much. In high school I would pretty much wear hand-me-downs from my neighbors lol. I didn’t mind it much since I didn’t like to ask my parents because I knew they were struggling. But girl now that I can afford things I buy things just to buy and sometimes I reflect on it and be like “am I like this because I couldn’t afford things when I was younger?” Lol But I have stopped but watching your videos makes me want to add on to the addiction lmao 😂

The addiction is not an addiction unless you feel like you cannot control the spending and it becomes a habit that ends up in debt, I don’t think that’s your issue at all. You have the money to shop in the manner that you do but that guilt type of feeling comes from past childhood experiences and emotions… if you can afford it, go for it. It’s like Gambling!! You gamble with money that your not going to miss if you lose it. Enjoy your things!! You have the luxury to afford it!! Don’t forget that!! We all would be shopping for everything too if we had hundreds and thousands rolling in as profit. Enjoy your life!! Don’t feel bad for splurging while you can, you have investments, your own business, and who knows how many other jobs going on plus being a mommy. ❤

My dad is the same way !! he grew up poor in Mexico there was days they couldn’t even eat (he has 4 sisters 1 brother) and he even tries to hoard stuff and doesn’t like wasting food at ALL! But I also understand why he’s the way he is.
I'm deep cleaning my beauty room and closet and I realize I Have so much stuff with tags and duplicates. For me shopping is a way to de stress and do something alone 😅.I swear shopping helps my depression but I learned since I got a mortgage to shop all the time but only buy things that are on sale or deals. I love vintage and thrifting it helps with my shopping addiction and not spend a lot but find fire finds lol . I shop for seasons like currently I'm buying Christmas decor lol instead or aimlessly buying I have a purpose now lollll❤

Until I started to realize I never used any of the clothes or shoes and felt I could've just saved my money instead and I felt so guilty. Now I ask myself do I really need it or is it just going to hang in my closet forever? Sometimes now I get nauseated going to stores because I just want to get rid of things and have a simple closet lol

I'm not sure on the psychology part of things but maybe it's like what you said it probably stems from not having much growing up despite really wanting some things. I know for me I grew up poor so when it came to food as an adult I'm finally able to enjoy it but I have to be careful sometimes because I'll eat more than I need to just because it tastes really good. I have times when I'm full but for some reason still want to eat. Thankfully I am now able to tell myself when food is needed and when it's not so I've learned what works for me trick wise to keep myself healthy. Try asking yourself if you need an item before u buy it. If u don't then you can agree with yourself that its okay to not buy it. If you really just want it ask yourself if you have that item already and if u don't already have it maybe trick yourself by only allowing yourself to have 5 items a month. Start like that and then u can lower it if needed. Maybe u can also tell yourself if u buy a few items then a few items you already have need to go to replace their spot. That way you're not building up too many things in the house and it doesn't end up being a financial problem later in the future. There's nothing wrong with liking nice things, just gaining healthy habits to help u get what u want but not overdo it is important. I am proud of you for acknowledging the problem and asking for help that is always the first step to succeeding. Psychologically speaking, if u reward yourself after giving things up it helps build good habits, it's called social exchange theory: cost vs reward. I believe you got this you're already a step forward just keep consistency and you'll be good. I hope this helps!
