I've found this can be really guitar specific, some guitars like the big strings and others actually start sounding muddy or dead with heavy strings. Some sound huge and sustain for days with light strings, others sound thin and weak with light strings. Just gotta try them on your guitar and see what happens.
I couldn’t agree more. I used to use 11’s for years but I switched to 10’s and my guitars feel and sound much better to me now. More bounce, less stiff sounding. More space for harmonics :) just my opinion though.
@@milesharris335 I used to have two Teles, one sounded AWESOME with 11s, the other sounded AWESOME with 10s. Neither one sounded good if you swapped them around though. Really opened my eyes to the idea that I need to try different things on each specific guitar. Just because I liked it on one didn't mean I'd like it on all of them, even if they were the same model/style of guitar.

@@milesharris335 I use 9's on my prs cu24 and it sounds great while on my 335 I use 10's
