At 7:01 of your video, if two people had the exact same name what will happen is a 'category' page is essentially created. When more than one record have the same value for the field you selected in the URL pattern ---- a category dataset is linked to the dynamic page. This will not cause an error per say, but it does change the logic of the data on the page. Essentially when a category dataset exists, it is common for a repeater to be on the page because most likely you are going to show a group of items related to that one value. Let's say you have Mike Smith and Mike Smith as two different records on the page. Then let's say you only have 1 text element on the page. That one text element will only ever show the 'first Mike Smith' and you will never see the other Mike Smith. Because the logic of the data being displayed on the page changed based on the URL pattern you selected. Hope that helps.
Your almost 8 minute clip explained what Wix support couldn't in hours and hours of to and fro with them. This is a great example of keeping it simple.
Very helpful! I am making a list of characters for my D&D podcast and came up with the idea to make a dynamic page and it was very confusing how to get the item and the list. By going into Dev move that did solve my problem! Thank you very much for taking your time to share your experience and tutorial!
Hello Greg. I have done what the video did and then connected it to a repeater, in the dynamic list page is there a way of moving the items around please. I have looked everywhere with no success John
Thank you! Really helpful, I was doing it through coding to detect which element clicked by ID and then pass the ID to the dynamic page then fetch it's content and display it to the template 😂😂
This is helpful It clarifies the process of setting up dynamic pages and collections. What I can't work out is how to add existing pages without having to create each individual page again and add it to the collection. I have scores of pages all with the same layout but different content (it's a dog rescue with a page for each dog). Do I really have to create each page again rather than just convert them?
thanks for your input. I am trying to make a dynamic page and in rich text I want to add three columns for service/time frame/price. I keep getting them unaligned even though it shows in my item that it is all lined up. Where can you change these after you put them in as an item?
Hi Greg, thanks for the video! I’ve figured most everything out, have CMS data connected to my repeater but my repeater is extending over my page footer as I add more data. Any idea how to create a section or box that dynamically grows with my data so it will push down my footer instead of overlapping it? Appreciate the help in advance.
Hi Greg, thank you for this excellent explanation. What I am wondering is how one gets the list shown as a menu item with each individual page as a sub menu item below it...
I wouldn't quite call this a dynamic page tutorial. It's more like adding some sort of list to a dynamic page. And not a tutorial on how to use the dynamic Pages themselves. Which is what you think of when you see the title. Not certain exactly what you would use this kind of listing for but hopefully it'll come in handy in the future for me
Not sure if you're referring to the speed of this video's narration, but you can click the gear control at the bottom of the window and slow it down. Hope that helps.

You can set the number of rows to be displayed in the dataset and then add a "Pagination Bar". Hope that helps.

THANK YOU, Greg.
Hi Greg, thanks for your tutorial. How can I add H1 tags on dynamic pages?
Doesn't the normal way work? As far as I know, Dynamic Pages can be edited like other pages (they just have some special capabilities).
