Would love to see that live another day
Same that jewie is aroud 30 years old
Same
Same but at least they'll be eating it!
i agree, but the only way they would've landed it was by gaffing it
Max Chronister looked like a lip gaff tho
Would of been even better to see it swim off after
You don’t see many Jew that size and in that condition
Past table size but none the less great catch I hope none of it went to waste 🤙🏽
Nice one guys - gotta love it when the reel sings :-)
Firstly amazing fish that goes without saying congratulations, secondly that’s how a fishing boat deck is supposed to look covered in blood and slimy not sitting in the driveway polished
Beautiful Dusky guys . Well done . I'm one of the many on the hunt for them this size and bigger in South Africa
Ignore the people, who saying realise fish.
Just taxidermy dude, it's trofey,
Only no fishermen can say that
Exactly what I’m thinking
5:44 adrenaline kicks in. 8:03 the best feeling of accomplishment ever
My neighbour had one of 78kg off the beach in Namibia. Further north towards Angola they are very common. Also much more common mid to north NSW, it's very hard to catch one this size in Victoria. Great job, catch of a lifetime.
prosurv123 78kg??? I doubt it
calling BS on that....
The African mulloway or "kob" as they call them are way bigger then Aussie models
@@mrsonar The African ones are massive, record is about 82kg
Fantastic fish, well done.
Wonderful what a happiness in his face thank you Universe Thank you Ocean 🌊 💖
Biggest Jewie caught in Australia is 57.4kg by a spear-fisherman. It is on internet and it makes this one look smaller.
I don't like seeing big fish of any species killed, as they are often not the best eating, and can be full of worms. They usually are the breeders too. In this day and age, with species extinctions and over-fishing, people should be doing the right thing. Why not measure and photograph it, then release it.
:(
He also already gaffed it twice so there was no point in releasing and sometimes they have to feed their family.
@@alexdeligiannis1376 They have a boat, expensive fishing gear, and jobs. There is no essential 'need' to feed their family by way of killing a prime breeding fish.
@@BrandonLee_1171 it would’ve snapped the line if they tried to lift it over
Love your channel my personal record is 38.5kg but from land....i have some good captures from kayak but not like this. That is an amazing catch 😍😍😍
60kg😉😉😉😉😉
Would have loved to see it be released
Yoh!good fish guys, hope you enjoyed it. Fish of a lifetime, you got credit!
Nice fish but damn that would have been a chewy feed! Anything over a meter we throw back, schoolies around 70-100cm are the best for be eating
Awesome catch! What was the leader? Snelled 5/0 for live squid?
Mulloway get just as big here. There was a photo of a 100kg specimen that died in the Swan River during an algal bloom about a decade (?) ago. Was in one of the main newspapers. I'm sure somebody here in WA will remember the fish.
Old timers remember 50+kg fish too.
What rig set up you running when bait fishing for jewies and how heavy?
Fish of a lifetime! 😮
Really nice fish boys my biggest jewie is only 123cm 18.8kg hopefully I'll get one that big keep it up
why gaff hook such a beauty?
if you are fishing of the beach then you do not need a gaff if you are fishing of rocks or a boat a gaff is often needed that was also a giant jewfish and it would not have been landed without a gaff and anyone who catches such a amazing fish will take it home so it was going to die anyway , anyone agree.
Wowwwwwww! Congratulations 👍👍Beautiful fish🐟great job
2:30 "Its not worth it", Boy were you wrong!!
Now that is an actual monster 🐟
I was at my local pier the other day and saw some giant mulloway chasing a school of salmon
I watch this clip at least twice a year never gets old, I bet he tasted good boys! Top effort fellas 😁
Thomas Manders so you’ve watched it twice
How could you keep that thing?
Thats one gorgeous fish it looks like a crossbreed between a drum and a sea trout that's what we have here in Miami great job guys I would have loved to seen the cleaning part.
Good job mate
Was this up in Corinella
Hey guys, just wondering what rods are you using? They look good and I need some new ones
Yeah I agree with most comments should have let it go the smaller Mulloway taste much better. Regardless awesome catch!
Wow thas a huge Jewfish my Record is 38,5 kg ...congrats mates
caught 3 over 50 kg's here in south africa..guys get them alot,our record is 82.2 kg's.
+Jacques Truter different gene pool and sub species mate. Yes but basically the same tho. These are not Dusky Kob these are silver mulloway
BigFishChannel No it's not.... same species Argyrosomus japonicus. "It is known as mulloway or jewfish in Australia and dusky kob in South Africa". Here is the Wikipedia page en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argyrosomus_japonicus
are yours good eating
+Ryan M I'm fully aware. Like humans of different nations we vary on our size and look determined in our geographic location. But all homo sapien
absolutely ,they're great eating :)
That is a monster Jewy
Awesome catch guts over 100 pounds.
Awesome fish
Nice catch
NIce fish well done. I agree with the comment below, the Australian Ansa record is 37 kg. Cant see that fish weighing 45 ever! I've caught plenty at 1500 mm that only went 20kgs.
We literally filmed weighing it and measuring it. So I’m not sure how you could possible dispute the size. We’ve caught many large Jews and your comment is pretty bloody disrespectful to be honest. When you’ve caught and weighed a 1.7m one you can have an opinion.
Nice in NT where got some big 1s
Haha nice delayed intro!! The catch deserved a proper video. Great stuff!
Great capture what was the contents of the fishs stomach it must have been full of some big bait fish?
It had a 1kg gummy shark in its guts
Radical AF!
Was it good to eat at this size? How did you cook it?
@Bad Cattitude Oh ok. That's the only way? Not BBQ, not pan fried, not steamed? Cool.
I caught 1 half size i thought that was big
Some people in the comments need to stop virtue signaling about catch and release, because he can do what he wants to with his fish.
Looks like a giant speckled trout with the yellow mouth crossed with a red fish.
fish of a life time mate
Grabs the net! F*CK the net, grab the Gaff!
why not let the big girl go
to prove its a record then eat it
and they dont release well and taste so good
The bigger they are the better they taste. Unlike most species the smaller ones taste like soap.
I kinda felt sick seeing her get gaffed. Great catch nonetheless but stomach turned when she went onboard
Karena di dalam perut gadis besar itu,ada sesuatu yg sangat bernilai, mahal 🤭
Great capture mate amazing fish and I’m a long time follower but disappointed to see it killed
blokefromthebush it’s edible
Harika bir balık ve harika bir av oldu tebrikler ederim...
Sagol abi
Holy crap
HI , can anyone tell me if that fish goes by other names , here in the states we call the goliath grouper jewfish also that as you all know dwarf that , it almost resembles a redfish .
Closest to your white seabass I believe
SouthAfricans know it as the Dusky Cob but I’ve been told their fisheries are really battling with over fishing and even poaching
Its a member of the drum family, like red and black drum, white sea bass, weakfish and sea trout and it really looks like a giant croaker which get to about 3 lbs in north east usa
Should have put it back guys
Just curious, how old would that fish be for its size and weight, new to fishing myself.
+Ch33ki DVL it was aged at 22 years old.
BigFishChannel-thanks I appreciate you getting back to me.
Those look like BULL REDs here in the U.S.!
Looks like a giant speckled trout to me.
Wow lucky you
I have been chasing jewfish 4 or 5 years I still haven’t caught one
What a cracking Mulloway
Hold the door
Man brought an eski. Don’t think anything is gonna fit in that lol
I can not believe you killed it. It's all about small people not fishing
@Yuck Foutube yeah but I still think it's a shame to kill something that brilliant when there are smaller and better eating fish
Don’t ruin a good moment mate
Why keep such a massive beautiful fish ya greedy dogs
Should have put it back
Good.fishing
What a shame to see that fish die . Our jewfish stocks are low as it is 😡😡😬
why would you kill him?
Clorox bleach because it’s edible so don’t sook
Why kill it, its probably full of worms
squidatsea because this idiots are to lazy to catch a more table sized fish and don't care about the big breeder females!!!!!
Do you know what the Australian all tackle record is for Mulloway?
garfield silva very arrogant and rude statement
100lbMullowayClub Adrian Lieutier how? It’s rude to kill something that you are so “passionate” about, you cannot kill something you truly love
sadly this beautiful fish was not returned to the water. it is a sign of the true fisherman to release the fish
I know this is an older video but the comments here are pathetic. They caught and ate a fish but reading the comments you'd think they murdered a baby. You people sit behind your keyboards belching out vitriolic bile like jealous children. If you choose to release your fish then full respect to you, same respect if you choose to keep one. No laws were broken and you have no right to tell others what to do.
On a more positive note, what a fantastic fish and thanks for sharing the capture with us.
Spot on.
Soo this is what Adolphin eats.
The most mythical fish im yet to land, hooked an estimated 18kg one and bust off in knee deep water
Mate come to Darwin and see our jewfish I caught one 1.14 meters and we call that small
Julian Towel this was 1.7m
Yes Good fish, 5 year old about
zoezoe610 Really? They must grow pretty quickly. 😊
25 to 30 years old!!! 5 wtf lol??
Mate they grow so slowly that thing would easily be over 50 years old
You killed a legend gents.
Not smart.
Here in wa we only get 50cm mulluway
Yeah so far I've caught 2 one was undersize one was a bit over.
How big is ur dinner table lol?
They dont eat well when that big
Wow
so what size the saragosa? whats the line ? rod type etc?
i think it was a 10000 saragossa
how about the line and the rod ?
not sure about the line but you could try to pause the video to read the label on the rod
SHIMANO SARAGOSSA 10,000, 30lb power pro braid to 5m of 60lb shock leader and a 1.4m trace which is also 60lb. Twin 5/0 gamakatsu octopus hooks.
Oh and the rods are shimano Bluewater t-curve 10-15kg
did u get a tape on it?
Yes. 1.7m
nice :) true monster
Why did u kill it wtf man
To eat obviously
Ik but its so big keep the medium ones so then there are more huge fish
Mega mullo and possibly the fish of a lifetime for sure
If you havent already check out bobby on “Ride That Fish” hawksbury rv nsw..... you will luv this guy cheers
That blokes a wanker
Fish that big taste like shit in my experience. 72 pound mulloway beach fishing North of Perth. Wish I could have released her, but the fight killed it.
Tasted great.
@@YouFishTV I bet it would’ve
Way kool
That's a big garfish! I got a 65lb garfish same spot on live gents
Massive fish, but you just kill it so..
Cant honestly believe you killed this fish. What a loss!.
Man that fish should have been released.. They produce the future.. Beautiful Fish.. such a shame
I'm sure every fish after this one caught would be released, I'd have this mounted in my lounge room for sure
exactly M8 finally someone with a bit of common sense
No
A fisherman is aloud to take and keep a fish to feed his family 👪 jealous people who barely know how to tie a hook on never have praise in their comments and always take the greenie approach and say aaaaah you should of let it go so my advice is for you to make a trip to the optometrist and see if anything can be done about those green eyes of yours
@@jackarundell7031 🤣🤣🤣😢😢😢
The most money hungry fish in existence
Should of released her. Sad person you are.
Holy shit... I know this location (roughly) I have been fishing it for many of years and not once seen a jewfish come out of it. hahaha, I guess it comes down to if you know how to target them you'll get them, I've lost some big stuff there, so could have been a jewfish, but will never know. I was fighting something BIG off corinella Pier on Tuesday 26th, and after 10 minutes fighting it, it spat my hook, I know for a fact it wasn't a ray, so it was either a good size shark, or possibly a big jewfish. :'(
Great fish, well done guys. Everyone is carrying on about it being some spectacular breeding fish, you are all wrong. It is a myth that only the biggest fish breed., or because it is a big fish it breeds better than a fish half of its size. My goodness you are al victims of mis-information. Its a bloody fish. Great sporting effort, totally legal and totally awesome. Well done.
seagrunter01 there is actual evidence to indicate that larger females contribute to the population more than smaller females. The ratio of survival of larvae is skewed such that more eggs produced by bigger fish does not explain it.
seagrunter01 just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right, slavery used to be illegal but was that right?
seagrunter01 how about you inform yourself before making such a stupid comment.. Spawning potential ratio for mulloway (between 5% and 20%) is well below the recommended threshold of 25%, bigger the fish the more eggs she spawns!! We need to keep these big breeding girls alive.
I agree..but please learn not to say the world legal lol..we as sovereign citizens can do as we please. Legal and lawful are 2 totally different things... not having a shot at you,i just pass through giving people the heads up on what we can and cannot do. Council n fisheries ect have no jurisdiction or power over you...they are a fictional entity owned and run by america who is run out of Israel. Do as you please when you want my friend.
Yeet
i hate gaff hooks..
Awesome. Here in South Africa we call them Kob or Kabeljou. My biggest is 87,35 Kg on the scale and measuring in at 215 cm. If you drop me you email I will send you some photos.
what are you gonna do with 40kg + of jewfish. Learn catch and and release..
Eat it? We release plenty of fish thanks.
@@YouFishTV you release the big ones. Should be releasing all fish unless they arnt fit for release or actually worth eating.
@npgSymboL Exactly these activists are so retarded 😂😂😂
Hodor
Why keep a mulloway so big just to boast about it?
We keep fish. We eat fish. We photograph and film fish. If you have a problem with that you actually have no right to be putting hooks in bait and or go fishing ever
BigFishChannel fair enough but, I really hardly ever use bait, catch and release is extremely important and that fish WAS a big breeder. You have so much success and keeping that fish was not good for anybody’s benefit except for the three of you I’m guessing, just think about it next time. And that’s just being selfish saying that I don’t have the right to put hooks in a bait just because I support and promote catch and release.
Orlando’s Fishing! Hey this fish was a life long dream for the crew and they enjoy catching and eating mulloway. I really can’t understand the motive of people like you getting upset at other people’s dreams and goals. You don’t have to watch our content but we put it up for people who understand our dreams and enjoy the show.
Orlando’s Fishing! mate they release very bad i used to live on the brisbane river and we would find them floating all the time from catch and release i now keep the big ones every time for this reason plus there good chew. but in saying that i wont even target the big ones unless im prepared to go to the effort of processing a fish that big. this is also the rule for my boat if u come out with me to target big jew u better be ready for the hard work that comes after u get ur pretty picture,,, trust me after a big fish like this u get adrenal dump and last thing u want to do is process a fucking 20+kg fish would love to just throw it back in the water, but the truth is they dont do well and die, so keeping them is the right move
Sounds like an excuse from a shit dj
wow!
just wow!
