Love to see you covering MESBG. It’s so rare to see a big RUclipsr even acknowledging that the game exists 😂 I for one am super pumped for this book. So much so I went back and painstakingly built all the hand crafter terrain from the last time they covered Arnor. Time well spent!
I love MESBG, and I love this period of Middle-Earth specifically. Unfortunately, I can only see myself getting the book and then finding miniatures elsewhere. I'm simply not going to be paying £48 for a pair of resin Werewolves, no matter how nice they are. It does make me worry a bit about the future of MESBG when I'm sure I'm not the only one who just buys the books and looks elsewhere for significantly cheaper miniatures.
There's such a robust proxy/printing community I wouldn't be too worried. It's been on life support with the models for a loooong time and has been doing great because tournaments at every level are fine with printed figures, and that isn't gonna change
PSA: actually WarCom said that the profiles are all being reworked in the next edition and all previous supplements are obsolete apart from the scenarios. So from that pov actually the next edition will be a departure from what came before.
Thanks for the review! Was there a reason you glossed over the Arathorn and Buhrdur legendary legions in the appendix, though? Was very interested to see what special buffs they got (it looked like a lot!)
all the Rangers and Dunedain +2 to their Attacks Value (if on foot) which is amazing! Thery also get a modifier in scenarios that have a roll to determine reinforcements. - Buhrdur gets some big bonuses here gaining Blood and Glory and also Fearless if he slays a hero! There’s some really nice rules here if they choose to ambush - the army is not set up as normal and instead in the 3rd move phase the entire army is either moved on from any board edge or can set up entirely hidden within terrain!
Easily! Theres plenty of parallel profiles to that time period and obviously apart from named characters things like Elves and Dwarves would just carry right over.
Thanks for the video. In the past there where no arnor Knights mounted. So these are completly new miniatures. I Hvae a question. Is your camera a little busted ? Because the quality dropped in the last few review videos(focus off, cant really read what is in the books etc.)
That may be intentional after some people used his footage for outrage farming. Or, if I'm imagining that happened, it could be intentional to PREVENT that from ever happening.
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Daamn, that's weird. He survived whole war with Angmar, fought at Fornost, was first chieftain and actually the longest ruling one. I thought he was going to be 2 or 3 fates.
Great video! What's the point of the knights of Arnor models, there is no multi pose?! Are we supposed to have 6 knights where every second one looks like the other?..
In this case I’m betting the light add of terms or structure is more to do with having to go through an approval process each time and then wanting to keep it simple when they do.
This book is DOA. They already said the soon arriving edition will make this book worthless. It's sad. Profiles on most characters and models are changing (a leadership trait is to be added and fight values are changing).
how is it DOA? like most of the hardcover SBG books, very little of the content has to do with profiles. I take it you only care about competitive play, in which case this book is worthless to you regardless since it's focus is on narrative scenarios. That being said, Jay Clare already announced the Arnor and Angmar rules will be available for free online when the new edition launches, so the competitive players who would never have bought the book in the first place can get the stats for free regardless. The rest of us are happy to add another book of campaign scenarios to our collections.

MESBG is proof that you don't need to make massive, sweeping changes to create an interesting game that has longevity
As far as I'm concerned the massive sweeping changes works against certain other games being interesting..
Let’s wait until we see what the new game edition will bring…
@@burroc5536 massive sweeping changes?
Thanks for covering this, as I adore MESBG.

As a Halls of Thranduil player, I feel your pain. My main armored troops are all resin and are 90 dollars a box or so 😅
Lotrbay does good prints

Really wish GW would show more love to MESBG, that said it is absolutely their best game. So much fun to play.
Saturday morning reviews!🎉🥳

Great to see this
Think it’s a big nerf to the shade. Total change to its rules. Will need to look at this properly but it really changes the model.
Angmar would just be way to powerful whith the old one
I love LotR:SBG but I will never buy any miniatures from GW. The prices are insane.
How would MESBG work for a Silmarillion-type game?
Easily! Theres plenty of parallel profiles to that time period and obviously apart from named characters things like Elves and Dwarves would just carry right over.

Irony is i just ordered an angmar army off etsy. Literally heard about the book 5 mins after paying. 😂
So much lore and names being butchered xD but lovely review! MESBG rules! 🎉
Nice! Does Aranarth have 3 might, 3 will and 3 fate?

What about Gulhavar 😢

Thanks for sharing but Bruh, the quality of the vid is very bad. You cant even see the profiles. :/
You shouldn't be able to do so with review vids, strange interactions with certain copyright laws etc etc
Then there is no reason for these type of video besides showing the miniatures.
So it's impossible to expand on a solid rules core? One must completely rewrite the rules to create drift, interest and fomo?
In this case I’m betting the light add of terms or structure is more to do with having to go through an approval process each time and then wanting to keep it simple when they do.

it makes the profiles not usable. Allt he scnearios will like before still be completly usable. The same for the hobby tips and the lore

Book is too far away or camera quality is low. Can't read anything, might aswell be a black screen.
Who ever is reading this... have a great day! 🤪👑😘
Aw thanks man! You too🎉
You get early access to this and you don't even care or even cover the content anymore... GW give it to someone else who actually cares next time!
