    Great video, thanks. Saved myself a solid $100 doing it myself. Wasn't that hard and I'm a novice. Ended up using a heat gun to softnen the glue around the screen. And used a scalpel type tool instead of that flimsy alfoil thing. And no need to use any of that liquid you had. Talk about overkill

      Its not overkill. It's about efficiency. They got more devices awaiting to be repair, so less time needed if doing it efficiently. For diy user, of course its overkill to buy those equipment

    Dear fellow human. Thank you for this video. I've purchased a heating pad and a replacement port for less than repair place wanted for labor alone. My 5 year old can have his tablet back. All fixed. Thank you!

    This video was helpful but also cost me $50. When he cut across the top it killed the screen. I'm sure thats why the video did not show the tablet turned back on. I did the same only slightly cutting into that area, but it disabled the screen. Was able to get a new screen and tablet and charging port works. Be very gentle when going across the short width of the screen.

      U always have to be gentle, don't blame the movie if u can't repair or leave it to the professionals.

      @a.j.r6275 Will thank you, captain obvious I was very gentle. But at no point does it suggest not using a tool up there. And at no point does it show the screen working after putting back together. I had to do this on another tablet for my other kid, this time I used no tools in that area and had 100% success. My comment is not to complain, but rather to help other youtubers be successful... without having to find out the hard way. It doesn't matter how gentle you are. You will most likely slice into the ribbon cable if you put any tool into that area. It's not blame, it's help.

      You were obviously being too rough. This is delicate electrical components. I'm a beginner and successfully achieved the transplant by being careful and patient.

      I really wasn't. Why are you upset with my advice to help others from making the same mistake? Like I said I kept that in mind on the 2nd one and no issues. My advice is helping others.

    My last comment was deleted, because,
    although I was polite, I mentioned, this video cost me $50 buying a new screen on Amazon,
    because you can not put a tool across the inside top, and have your screen live.
    So I mentioned this video should be redone.

      Sorry to hear you have damaged your screen during the swap
      I wouldn't recommend leaving any tools on the device you are working on

    • @Tom2941
      @Tom2941 Год назад +3

      @@rickstechrepairs no tools were left on the device. Rather, as @mrhook mentioned, hidden, inside the device, at the top, there is something you must not poke in more than 2mm with an opening tool, during the opening process, or else it destroys the screen. This video should help; it mentions not going in more than 3mm: ruclips.net/video/hI_1sffXMI8/видео.html
