The colors on this walk were so vibrant. The browns of the bricks and the sand, the blue sky, and the reds from the churches were so lovely. It is a treat everyday to see your walks. Thank you.
Beautiful walk Richard. The building architecture in the UK is so nice to see, I love the history. Worthing is beautiful! I really appreciate you taking us along and sharing your walks! The sound of the water...so calming! Thank you...stay safe...take really rood care! 😊
Thank you Richard for bringing back memories from over 70 years ago. I had relatives living in Worthing I remember the groynes so well, and climbing on and around them. Does the seaweed still come up on the beach? I remember great banks of it, smothered with flies and stinking like I don't know what!! We used to walk from Broad water to the beach through a small tunnel then Home Park and Beach House Park, past the paddling pool and boating pool an eventually onto the beach. Fond memories now, I am 76 years old.
Writing from Australia, I watch your videos regularly. My family live in Worthing and Angmering and have done for over 70 years, unfortunately I can't visit this year as intended. Your videos of your local area are great reminders of my happy childhood and adult days. I once read that acts of kindness are like throwing a pebble into a pond, you can't see where the ripples will end, in my opinion your work and effort during these trying times are on such act. Keep going!!
Love seeing these old seaside towns , I lived in Kent for a little while a few years ago similar type of buildings , good to see they are still trying to make a go of the town 👍
Hello Richard, I'm a recent subscriber. Really enjoying your videos. Thanks for uploading. Ah what a lovely little dog you met. Very refreshing viewing of the beach and sea. Best wishes.
I live alone with no family so your videos are a lifeline to me your like an old friend Richard not a young one !!lol ps I used to watch u on fbook for sometime great stuff you produce
Another wonderful walk through your hometown Richard! Two very beautiful churches (were they featured on your church walk? I'll have to go back & look!🤔). Especially Christ Church!😍 Still loving all the Victorian & Georgian architecture. Do hope you do a walk down Montague Street!
I found myself saying out loud, “you can do it! You can do it!” Get that shed cleared out. I just came in from doing a bit of gardening and found your lovely video. Keep showing us Worthing. 😊
Thanks Richard. Another cracking video and great to see Worthing in the early morning spring sunshine. Hope you manage to get out and about on your bicycle.
Lovely old buildings. Worthing is looking good! Just reminded me about the lovely Italian ice cream parlour on the sea front - can't remember the name but begins with an M!
Thanks for you videos Richard. Spending a lot of time watching them over this time. Although I live in Maidstone now I am a Worthing boy.... more accurately, Lancing. My parents and Sister still live there so particularly lovely to see Worthing as i can't get down to visit. Oh, and i learned to ring at St Mary's in Goring.... that was back in 1978. I'm still ringing all these years later
Another lovely view of your world Richard, I remember the groynes in Lancing, from my time there in the 60’s, and your previous videos of the granite there. So out of place, such a shame
You have inspired me to photo my daily walk and stop and look at what we have locally...so often we rush past our local houses churches etc..and not wonder who lived there and why and when..
Wonderful. I think I've got the dubious honour of getting stuck/trapped in almost every multistory car park in Worthing! Grafton Road being one of them. Back in the 1970's when they were first built, lifts used to be very unreliable ...
‘Showing that little bit of England’, you stated, summed it up for me. I’m from the UK, currently Living in the N Sierras CA USA surrounded by snow currently, and missing the UK, especially whilst in lock down and unable to travel. Was back in the UK in Epsom last December and loved it , especially love the Spring over there. Thanks for your vlogs.
Fancy you walking down Prospect Place, my Mother lived in that road when she was a young girl of about 9 in about 1918 ish. Looks very different now to the pictures I've seen. Thank you very much for the update.
I swear I saw palm trees just as you left the church! Yes we from other countries(I’m in US) love all that you bring us of your beloved England. Thank you so much for that, I’m sure even Britain’s enjoy your videos though. I’ve noticed how clean your streets are, so wonderful! How did they make those bumps on the building that steps up to the door. Is that rocks mortared onto the building? How interesting. We have Giraffe houses here in the Ozark. It’s the only area they have them. They look like giraffe markings. Lol I like your liking the flats as teeth! Funny but so true, they do look like teeth.
Great one, I'm very much looking forward to cycling videos, it's something I'm peshonate about myself. I mean, I do have 18 bikes last time I counted! Well done.
Hey Richard, I love your videos of our town mate! Just for ref the Buckingham Road carpark and shop under it was I believe purpose built for Tesco in the 70's because their shop in Montague Street at the time became to small, I used to work in the Montague branch in my teens lol. cheers bud carry on the great videos Kevin.
Interesting to see. Buckingham road multy storey car park along with buying some lino from that now closed carpet place. Cant remember what it was called. Was the last time I came to Worthing back in the late 2000's.
hallo my friend Richard , this is Tony in the wild west of Australia , stil wonderfull weather , 25c in autumn , very little rain , so sorry to see people dying in my homeland , i have a sister on the isle of wight , a daughter and nephew in london, grand children in Manchester ..just hope they are all ok .
As I understand it Richard , the rocks would not be able to serve the same purpose as the wooden groins would ! The Rocks themselves would last longer , however it would result in the rocks being undermined by the waves/sea etc and thus digging themselves into a hole , literally ! Defeating the purpose etc . So not as good in the long term as wooden groins ! Keep up the good work ! 👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧
Don't be silly, they won't replace the groynes, they've got a £100 billion pointless railway to build. Had the tide been in,no doubt you would have been surfing, having climbed out your bathing machine! A lot of changes in Worthing, not all for the best.
I'm guessing that before this year is done, we will all know a lot more about Worthing Richard ;) 6:00 minutes in, it may well have been Allied Carpets, as they went bankrupt back in 2015.
Tiny Spock - apart from interestingly in Wales; the welsh devolved parliament have made it against the law to take more than one outdoor exercise a day (no idea how they enforce it!)
That was lovely- almost like being there - in your musings about the future replacement,or not as the case may be, you surmised that there might not be the money. I guess that is true but when I was looking at the loss of value of my pension the other day ( and hopefully in 5 or 6 years when I might get to retire it will have regained what I have lost and maybe even accrued a bit more) I think to myself that the money must have gone somewhere -the financial rescue package will hopefully enable our commercial enterprises to recover -even rich people need people below them to use their services or buy their products -lets just hope that the usual suspects don't get their noses in the troughs and it gets shared out a bit -oh Stringtrees you are such a naive idealist fool.
Stringtrees I worry too. I retired recently as well as some friends. Our investments in the US have dropped 30 to 50%. Hope we can recover as well as you guys in the UK.
Richard, please think of the examples you are setting as you are making the case that each person’s escape reason is special. The rest of us are staying at home to break the chain of infection that we might protect the weakest (they don’t know who they are) members of society.
Please be very careful touching things like Church Gates etc. when out on your walks. Not even the Experts are sure how long the Virus can survive on different surfaces. Keep safe.
yes Richard how sad the Wothing god is luxury flats , they destroyed the Odeon Worthing ...what a wonderful place , my father's friend Bonzo was the manager, he gave me a job 1953 as a trainee projectionist ..I was looking after the running projector , the spool ran about 30 minutes before the projectors were changed. The crew were chief , 2nd , 3rd 4th and me , this is the truth Richard ...a man came into the projection room , i slid off the high chair we sat on , we had to watch for any problem on screen..i said , who are you ? you can't come in here..he said i would like to speak to your chief ..i said but who are you..he said J ARTHUR RANK ...well he was a billionaire who owned all the Odeons and also part of Universal International Pictures ..Hollywood .. well wait for it ...this is true..he was in his office with the 3rd operator ..who was 22 ..female ..he was 60 ...what did i know ? i was 15 I told him to knock on the chief;s door... any way we all survived .
The colors on this walk were so vibrant. The browns of the bricks and the sand, the blue sky, and the reds from the churches were so lovely. It is a treat everyday to see your walks. Thank you.
You are a good patriot Richard. Its so refreshing to see people who genuinely care about our beautiful culture and land.
Thank you, Barry. Doing my best.

Very enjoyable walk. Loved that little dog who ran over to greet you!

Really enjoy your daily walks. Very entertaining and calming in these difficult times. Keep going Richard.
Thanks so much. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice.
A very enjoyable video, loved everything about it, . The sound of feet on shingles, you can’t beat it.
Always a pleasure, Ann.
Richard, thanks for showing the water and beach. It's soothing for those of us who can't get to the shore right now.
Thanks for a wander around your neighbourhood Richard! Bringing the world together while apart. Cheers

I certainly will do my best.

I didn't get a chance to get it out the shed today, but it will be out very soon.

Beautiful coast.
Thank you.
Love the sound of the waves and seagulls
It's interesting to have a virtual tour of a town you haven't been to before .
I watch this as a man who steps the same steps as you but you tell the story better than I ,we are so lucky 👍🏼
Glad your all good Richard
Thank you.

can't think of a better place a wide open beach .gl

Fortunately, living here, I don't have to use them. I walk. :)

A very pleasant walk Richard, I've just finished my coffee so back to work now for me
Good man, thanks for watching.

Fingers crossed for your family.
I was surprised you did not mention the Spiritualist Hall in Grafton Road that you walked past which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle used to attend.
Tt was. Good
Our local beach at Whitley Bay (which has remain of a groyne) is being patrolled by the police who are stopping people from being there.
That is ridiculous!

Let's hope the council abandons the plan then. Thanks for putting me right.

A lot of changes in Worthing, not all for the best.
True - too many bad changes for Worthing. Such a shame.
I'm guessing that before this year is done, we will all know a lot more about Worthing Richard ;)
6:00 minutes in, it may well have been Allied Carpets, as they went bankrupt back in 2015.
You have lovely blue sea down there! Not like here in Burnham, a grey muddy estuary =/
Oh, what a shame. I will have to come and explore one day!
The new laws say nothing about how many times a day you can go excerising. The guidelines say one but it has no basis in law.
Yes, I heard that - thanks.
Tiny Spock - apart from interestingly in Wales; the welsh devolved parliament have made it against the law to take more than one outdoor exercise a day (no idea how they enforce it!)

We are permitted to take a short walk.
This is just his daily walk which he is permitted to do - he just happens to film it
Please be very careful touching things like Church Gates etc. when out on your walks. Not even the Experts are sure how long the Virus can survive on different surfaces. Keep safe.
I certainly shall and I do wash my hands regularly.
