    Love this place. Helped me and my 10 year old get into MTB. 3 years later we come back for the town and the nostalgia of riding those trails. Nothing quite like the ones you first fell in love with! ❤ you Dungog Common.

      I went up there at Easter to ride the flow trails with my 1 year old strapped to my chest. Had a great time. If they could build a black jump line I'd get up there a lot more, beautiful place.

    This place is great! When I was here a 3 years ago when I was being first introduced into mountain biking. I was going to come back these school holidays but unfortunately greater sydney went into lockdown and the spring in my back hub all broke so I might head up next holidays. Great riding! Thanks for keeping me entertained during lockdown 🤘

      It’s the perfect beginner trail network. If they added a couple black jump lines then the place would have it all.

    Nice one mate and wise move on that bridge jump, it absolute cops it from the wind

    • @RideyRodney
      @RideyRodney  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I saw your effort cleaning it, good effort. The wind was hectic when I was there and it was a cross wind which made it really sketchy.

    The Flow trail looks real nice here. Has a lot of potential that's for sure.

      Add a couple black jump lines and the place would be worth a weekend.

      The best part is that they are within striking distance of the wineries.

    I’m on the verge of my seat waiting for a new video from you but this place looks really cool maybe good for progression with the table tops ?

    Great video. For flow, would you recommend Dungog or Awaba. I live in Newcastle and can go to both on a weekday.

    • @RideyRodney
      @RideyRodney  2 года назад

      If it’s just flow you want, Dungog might actually win. But you will get bored quickly. Awaba has Faulk line and Biraban for flow, but they are pretty steep in a lot of sections. I’d say the best flow trail near you is Amaroo (top section) at Ourimbah. Glen rock also has some great trails. Try them all out.

    Probably called Dungog common because it's off Common road.

      I got told by someone on good authority that it’s because back in the day the area was common for farmers to take their livestock for grazing.

    Can anyone give me some advice..? I've just started getting in to mountain biking. I bought a cheap dual sus with 120mm travel just to see how much I enjoyed the sport. A few rides in, I went to Mt Narra and could do everything on the rampage trail except the second drop feature, where I was worried that my front end wouldn't handle it; I'm already looking to upgrade. Ideally, I want a bike that can handle the worst that the Northern Beaches area can throw at me. So my question is: is there any point upgrading to a trail bike or should I be going for an enduro or something with 160mm + of travel? Can I get away with a trail bike, say a polygon T8 for example?

    • @RideyRodney
      @RideyRodney  3 года назад

      Could you 'get away' with the T8? Probably. Trail Talk MTB has a big review of his T8, he is a missive fan of it. However, by the sounds of it you should go straight to an Enduro bike. I went with a Giant Trance and then 6 months later upgraded to the Reign because I didn't want to use my bike as an excuse to not hit something, which I was. If I wuss out, it's all on me now, not the bike. The N9 is good bang for buck. Just close your eyes and don't check your bank account for a while after making the purchase.

      I was in your boat, on a scott spark and my local is mt narra. I needed something with more travel, I bought a commencal meta am this year. I definitely use all the 160/170mm travel so do recommend it. Lots of fun and I still smash it up vovos
