- In this complete analysis we're talking about the Lady Avalon, aka Proto Merlin! The Succubus Sorceress is finally arriving with our first summer banner! Unexpectedly a pretender, LA is going to be drawing a ton of comparisons to her male counterpart, Merlin Caster. They have extremely similar kits but proto brings some new tech to game allowing for some interesting applications. She'll be a great tool for challenge comps and will slot in amazingly in the invincible comp for arts units! In this complete analysis we'll be covering that kit, how it stacks up to competition, how she works on a mechanical level, where to use her, CE options and more!

I'll be rolling NP5 Lady Avalon when she comes out (probably on the 18th), hope to see you all there for that as I'll have a special catalyst to reveal for the rolls! Proto Merlin is a fantastic unit and while she has some interesting upgrades from merlin, she doesn't completely outclass him. Regardless she's still a great pick up and someone that everyone should consider adding to their roster, but you absolutely do not have to have her. My appreciation for this servant material, I'll have to make sure it gets added to my chaldea as well
one thing i find kinda interesting is that in farming, proto merlin can do something og merlin can't as easily, since she has 20% charge and with 20% mana loading, and her 20% charge, she can np on her own with a 50% charge ce, and if there isn't a 50% charge ce, then you can just rely castoria's battery or her 3rd skill. Thanks to this she can potentially give your main dps either 2 stages of oc, one from her skill one from chaining nps, or 2 stages from using both at once, and depending on the nodes's composition and arts chaining you might be able to get her np gain by wave 2/3 allowing for another stage of oc and more potential battery if done on wave 2. The main negative is the run would be slower but its an interesting possibility that can be done with her.
When she was announced for arcade, i was like, there is only 3 characters i would want to go broke for if they ever come out in fgo, regardless of how good they are:

Update: 29 tickets and 93sq later i got her (and np4 gareth surprisingly), now i have 500-ish sq left.

She's pretty much main target for this current slate of banners, although a couple Gareths would be _amazing_ as well; the remains, if any, goes to Skadi 1.5.
Funny thing is, I don't much care for Arcueid but I got her off a yolo multi--then I got baited into doing a couple more for NP2, but that's irrelevant--anyway, I'm worried about the desire sensor flipping on me.

Pretty sure thats not how dreams work. 300 is not that far from average per copy. Dream is from one to four tenrolls.

NP2 proto merlin is already enough. I just hope Summer Ibuki's banner will still be up even after Summer Skadi's banner drops. I want to roll for Skadi first and get her so i can go all out with ibuki's banner afterwards.

My main goal this Summer is Summer Skadi and maybe Summer Erice (If I'm lucky enough) but I am wondering if I should roll for Proto Merlin since Tamamo decided to spook me this Anniversary while rolling for Arcueid.

I ended up choosing prisma cosmos because I have 3 copies of black grail and kaleidoscope, and 7 copies of Fragments and 6 copies of prisma cosmos

I have a NP5 Miyu for arts and NP 2 Merlin, so I didn't really need lady Avalon. Also, Merlins np gain on his np is stackable on turn 4 and 5 oof the last np cycle assuming u np again on turn 3.

I feel like with a Merlin already in my roster, I don't need her. She will be amazing to have on my friends list for when I need her, but with Summer Skadi right there - I can't commit to rolling for her, unless Skadi comes home without a fight.
She has a bunch of rate up after so it not a lost if u skip this one

Depends on what you need. For my opinion, Lady Avalon is a top 5 support. That said, if you already have Merlin, LA adds slightly less utility to your kit.
@@RealLifeIronMan yeah i more see it from "have tamamo and her different classes, castoria, oberon and a bunch of other supports.. should i roll for another one" kinda thing, her kit seems interesting and fits the survive comp for arts but are many options that can do the job too
@@maxprzful Same. Then again, I'm at the point where I kinda don't ever need to roll again for meta, so it's just who seems most interesting. Going for Skadi first, but the only big supports I'm missing are OG Merlin and Reines. I am still gonna roll for Proto Merlin (assuming I have any SQ left and even get Skadi, I only have about 200 SQ left after NP2 Arc murdered my pulls, goodbye 400 SQ and 100 Tickets), but it's definitely a want and not a need.

@maxprzful Damn, that's a good result. Congrats! I had similar luck for Castoria, but Arc wasn't nearly as kind lol. If you do go for Proto Merlin then good luck!

Lady Avalon is only better than Merlin if you get a decent NP level of her. At NP1, she is strictly worse, as she gives less np charge and her buffs are shorter. NP1 gives 10% less charge overall per NP, with NP5 being 5% more per NP.
Not really true. Her star bomb buff lasts 5 turns and her skills ar e better by a bit.
At np1 is she is more or less the same as OG, and at np2 she is slightly better already.
@@amai2307 Her invul is one more turn of cd for that extra effect. While she is better per say at spamming her np, there is little point in that if the np gives less return and doesn't last as long. Merlin is easy to understand, np a few times and snowball out of control. Harder to do that with only 15% over 3 turns compared to 25% over 5, no? Also, the stars for her only go to increase np gain, as she is strictly an arts support not too focused on crits.
You can just borrow someone's NP5 copy for your immortal team.
@@drunkfarmer5106 she has more self charge can use her np a bit more often than OG, that evens things out a bit. When her np is np2 she gives 22.5 charge per np, so with more nps she gives more team charge already. and dont forget, that being blue support, you can go for full blue team, unlike common red blue blue with OG, which brings even more charge from full blue chains.
@@flashmozzg Or just get one Merlin, allowing you to take a 120 Morgan. That's the wiser move.
