I loved this collection, Anthony revisited Tom For for Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche F/W '03 with the sheer silk blouses and bishop sleeves, this collection was well thought out and presented despite all these obsurd mean comments. The people leaving these negative comments are the same folk who hated Raf Simons at Dior at first then praised him soon after, I've spend 10 years in the industry and trust me folks this is brilliant. Thank you Anthony Vaccarello!!!!
I've been in the industry for more than 35 years. If you are going to copy the work of someone else, you better make it better, or bring in a fresh new take. He did not make it better, or different. All this reminded me of were copies from Claude Montana, Krizia, and Thierry Mugler from the 80's, and that Tom Ford collection. SO??? But I am glad you got some satisfaction from this. Time will tell. As for the mean comments, no one should apologize for being honest.
I like music Anthony didn't copy anyone, Tom Ford made a collection so iconic that it's forever in the archives, and that's what new appointed fashion designers do, they look through the archives and put a collection together using the DNA of the house. Saying the word "Copy" is unfair.
My reasoning for using the word copy, as opposed to inspired by, is because unlike Nicolas from his Balenciaga days, when he would come out with a small group of clothes from the archives, Nicolas labeled them "Editions" . I really did not see any new version from what Tom did. If you are going to call yourself a designer, we should expect to be surprised. Even if he had used s different colour, fabric, maybe done in a print??? Those sleeves even appeared in Marni's collection last year, which were removable and came in different fabrics. He should have stayed away from those, and dug deeper into the archive. Then there was the dress with the framed tits ??? Tom did it better. He could have put a metallic panel there or inserted rhinestones, made it his own. It would have gone with the collection. He did not give us a better, newer version. Also, good art is a reflection of our times. I could not help but ask, does this represent the times that we are living in??? Time will tell.

Still not perfect but definitely better than last collection.
I'm in love with the last soundtrack! The collection is awesome, the cut, the shoulders structure, metallic details, leather pieces, everything! The casting was amazing too, I hate this new generation of "instamodels", like Kendall and Gigi, and I love when the creative directors give evidence for good models, like Mica!
PS.: Anna Ewers in this show would be cool!
I absolutely loved this collection I know its been getting some negative feedback from Hedi obsessed and conservative fashion critics but, everything about this was just so sexy and cool to me without having to put in too much effort and over thinking it which a lot of fashion houses seem to do these days. I can definitely see a lot of these pieces selling considerably well, Saint Laurent and Gucci are ruling the RTW & accessories luxury market at the moment and their rise in sale profits show for it. Anthony is pushing Saint Laurent in a new direction and defining who he feels the new Saint Laurent man or woman is to him and I cant wait to see what he has in store for the upcoming seasons.
Yea, he is pushing it for the black tart who loves to club. You know who I am writing about. The one who loves clothes that are way too tight, and way too short, and thinks she's all of that, AND a pack of chips. But of course SHE should pass on the chips, if she has any intention of wearing this. But, if you look like the woman in your photo, I am sure you could pass if off.

My point of view is that this stuff of those collection something that "only" looking good for models who wearing it. Because of the shape, strange cut. Well.. I'm into Hedi eras because most of "normal common" people looking good with Slimane collection as seems he made his collection "not only for models". Not talking about couture. SLP is ready to wear eh. IMO

YES. YES. is it good ? i do think so, it's a genuine collection, vaccarello stay true to himself, the only one to show sexy in your face. Not like the others who try so hard to be commercial and sell or to be in the vetements mood. I can feel desirability for his clothes. Even tho this collection is better than the last one, in my opinion he is still trying to find a new silhouette, a new Saint Laurent woman and i dont think that real people (not anorexic super tall models) will look good with the boots or some dresses.
Love the diversity of models and thank god no fucking Instagram/reality start "models" are used!

FINALLY, can we all say kudos to decent casting for the most part....with inclusion of rainbow of skin color/culture. Listen fashion houses/designers it is not that difficult to cast from the rainbow and actual models and not just "in the moment-what will sell-IG popularity" Keep the TRUE essence of actual crafted models, artistic portrayal of the fashion world alive. I miss the era of Claudia, Naomi, Iman, Cindy, Linda, Tyra, Beverly, etc.... Well anyhow Kudos Saint Laurent for at least being ONE of very few to bring the true essence of fashion to 2017/2018!

This is a mix of everything from designers of the last 15 years. Cone heel shoes from Isabel marant ,balmain harsh shoulder,and old Ysl from every designer before him you can look at it as inspiration but it's definitely not a fresh perspective. I love the esthetic of it and it will fit in with lots of wardrobes from people that fancy the old Ysl and Isabel marant. I hope he's able to stay on enough to create more but hopefully from his perspective!

Excellent model casting. He incorporated the urban style well into the clothes, although it felt a bit streetwalker sometimes.
Slimane made me re evaluate Saint Laurent. don't fuckn care if it was repetitive in the last collections. It was still unique

Slimane was a true artist, not only a designer. You can capture lot of his personality from his works. I don't see anything interesting but the one shoulder option who makes everything cool but too close to vetement, and all this stuff going towards that direction... this is only my opinion :)
IMO, Anthony Vaccarello was hired as an extension of the amped-up sexy glamour of Hedi, just with less inspiration behind his designs. It's very true to Anthony's style and his old line, but through trickle-down there's virtually no Yves Saint Laurent DNA anymore. There's no going back to Stefano Pilati days (my personal fave) once they rebranded as Saint Laurent.

This looks like clothes that a man would want a woman to wear, not something a modern woman would pick for herself. Such an archaic view of what it means to be sexy and cool; and the menswear was such an afterthought it shouldn't have even been in the show, maybe just in the showroom.
