    I appreciate your honesty. Thank you for your service. It’s never easy to acknowledge the mental health aspect of any job. So, my hat is off to you. One of the reasons I trust, enjoy and subscribe to the channel is how open and transparent you are. Hang tough and here’s to a great 2025.

    When i saw the title i thought you were ending the channel! I was going to explain that one of us would approve that! Police work seems like it is very hard to stay long term and still keep your sanity. Chasing crack heads 1 call, rescuing cats next call, investigating an assault/murder scene next call.

    Brother I sympathize. After the Persian Gulf war I can home and started to work for the FD. It got old fast. I was able to drag myself across the finish line and retired with 29 years. A lot of sacrifice by both my family and I. I cannot tell you how good it felt to retire. It was literally like taking off a show that had been too tight the previous 29 years. You made the right call for you! Charlie Mike!

    Absolutely young man raw dog is the reason I married my wife in the 1st place, leading to the 4 children we have now. Awesome that you are following your heart and doing what's best for you. During the Covatch Post Office told me to leave since I refused to put on a mask. Now I work from home swing trading and value investing Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Sh@t has a way of working itself out. Amazing you did your thing for 12 years. When I deployed Afghan with 10-2 it was 8 months and I felt like I was losing my mind and my blood pressure was constantly through the roof. Crazy thing is when you and other law enforcement guys go to work everyday is a deployment. Great that you are doing what works best for you.

    Mental health is a massive issue for all first responders but especially Leo.. more officers take their own life every year then die in service.. it’s a brutal mentally changing environment.

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  6 часов назад

      It’s a huge issue. It’s been glossed over how bad it is and even worse how many officers are hurting and don’t know who to talk to. There is nearly no support because it’s such an after thought by agencies. It was truly eye opening when I left how many people I know asked about how to leave and if it was worth it.

      Remember your oath and never let anyone or anything cause you to betray it.
      Also remember that you must always give 100% or more if the job demands it.
      With the above in mind, it is just a job and nothing personal, just business.
      Save the ones you can. They will be few and far between.
      For the ones you couldn't save, maybe you gave them a chance they didn't have or you were the last kind human face they saw or the last kind touch they had.

    Hey thanks for the update, I've been following this channel since the beginning and I'm looking forward to see what's coming in the future. Congrats on knowing when to get out. I'm in the same boat but know some that are miserable riding out to retirement.

      I didn’t know when to get out until I left. I knew I was unhappy, but didn’t grasp how unhappy I was until I left. I enjoyed cop shit, I liked dangerous stuff and catching bad guys and changing peoples life for the better, but I never realized how much better I would be by leaving.
      Thanks for supporting us and I hope you can find happiness and find your way to a better life. too many are riding out to retirement and I hit a head when I said I won’t do that and starting looking 4 years ago. 2020-2021 really took a toll on me. May god bless you and stay safe out there!

    Congratulations. My great grandfather, grandfather and my father all put in 25 to 30 years. All of them had p.t.s.d.. they would never admit it or get help. I really wanted to continue the family tradition but I did my service in another way. Thanks for your service and enjoy your retirement and whatever comes next. Merry Christmas to you and your family. E.O.W.

    Let’s say your agency put troopers first and had put the mental health of their officers a priority. Let’s say they also allowed you to have more freedom with your off - duty life and secondary employment as long as you didn’t disparage the department . Would you have stayed? By the way, I support your decision 100%. I got 22 years in/ 6 more till retirement and I wanted to leave 10 years ago 🤦🏽‍♂️. I totally understand.

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  6 часов назад +4

      I would still be there most likely. The BS secondary employment scrutiny I faced and had to fill out forms for was nonsense. Even when I filed for secondary employment, they made me prove I wasn’t filming porn. There was also issues with favoritism, being passed over for promotion when I ranked higher than other candidates by a lot, different standards based off the color of someone’s skin or gender and then most importantly a complete lack of mental health support. Many of us were nothing more than just a unit number whose push was to get enforcement. I loved being a police officer, I loved chasing the worst of the worst, I loved getting dope and guns off the street, I embraced being the person to give bad news but it came with a cost. I could have lasted, but I’m glad I didn’t. I had a unique opportunity outside LE I took a chance at and it’s been amazing.
      Thanks for the support! Hang in there brother! You are nearly there!

      @@HuntFishShootChannel That is insane and ridiculous at the same time. Thank you for describing your situation. I’m actually going to screenshot your comment and try to make my place of work a lot better for other people who have less time than I do. I am in a position where I can help improve morale and I really appreciate feedback from officers like you who have left the job. I really think that you didn’t leave the job, you just left the Administration and it’s substandard policy.

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  2 часа назад +1

      Definitely a lot of truth to that. The crappy aspects of LE like horrific stuff was bad of course but the bad admin and BS from an agency to go along with it, is the proverbial straws that break the camels back.

    Looking forward to the new content and vids more often! And good on you to look after your mental health. I’ve done it a few times in my life, and I’m currently riding that train again with my job. I’m giving it until march or April of next year, then will be looking to move on. I’ve always enjoyed your videos brother, I subbed because I’m also in Ohio and I love finding like minded ppl from this state. Appreciate your service as a LEO, but hopefully you can now find the peace and quiet and do the things you enjoy. I’ll be on the lookout for new things to come in 2025 💪🏻

    This is good and bad. Good for you obviously, but bad for the public because we lose another good LEO. I work with several good guys who are former LE who gave it up for several reasons. People in LE have a very high suicide rate per profession which is startling. I know 2 police officers who killed themselves, one of which was a friend. Thanks for your service from another Ohio resident

    • @HuntFishShootChannel

      I know of two as well and one I worked with. It’s very tough and often over looked in the mental health space. You are exactly right I know many people I worked with who have left early and many others who want to. LE is in a bad place right now and no one within the command structures wants to fix it.
      Thanks for watching and the support!

    There's not enough whiskey in Scotland for me, or any other average Joe Schmo, to be a police officer. Those who're able to answer that calling are people I hold in the HIGHEST esteem. I can't even BEGIN to imagine the kinds of things police see & have to do on a daily basis. Furthermore, I can't fathom what all those experiences, in totality, can do the one's mental health. Thank you for answering a calling that not everyone is able/fit to answer. God bless you & your fellow officers, active & retired.

      Absolutely!! I've enjoyed your channel from the 1st time I watched it & look forward to seeing what the future holds! I REALLY enjoyed your review on the Shadow Systems XR920P. I bought an MR-P myself, after owning a PDP Pro Compact, which I HATED. I just could never manage to get a good enough grip on it to be able to shoot it well on a consistent basis. But I've had no such issues with my MR-P. To me, Shadow Systems is everything a Glock SHOULD be as far as the frame is concerned.
