I've always had Kenwood blenders, in fact my mum has only been through 2 kenwood blenders over almost 20 years. The second one she has now is about 13-14 years old and still works!
Now yes, that’s where these come it amazing. People don’t realise how much of a godsend these things are for mobility and strength issues. Glad you like the video my friend x
Hey my red Fox 🦊, definitely a practical novelty! So far so good as we open a few cans a day with pet food, 3 dogs and a cat, plus always normally soup for lunch.
Wow we had one of those before emigrating and gave it away , big mistake. We have gone through 6 can openers so far. The bottle opener is new This is on my shopping list now. makes like so much easier and no more searching for the tin opener. Thanks for sharing. Great video as always my old buddy. 👌👌👍👍
Hey Deano 🤗. Glad you enjoyed, one of our dogs is on a special diet which are tins, no ring pulls etc, so we have to open lots of tins, then there’s always normally a ton of soup for lunch etc, so we do go through lots of cheap and med priced openers. I hope this one lasts longer.
Mr lux you don't have to hold the handle down it should stay down by itself once you've pressed it while the can is opening I think. That's what mine dose & mine is a Kenwood also ☺
I just tried it on a can of pineapple slices, you’re right, it does, that’s awesome, don’t know how I missed that in the instructions, thanks for letting me know buddy x
Hey my man, glad you enjoyed, would be great for people with hand strength issues etc. Took a few goes to get the hang of it, now I’m like an old pro from way back with it 🤣😘
Hi Dorian how are u OK mate u do a really good job on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work
My first Kenwood can opener died a death after 25yrs, bought a new kenwood.. BIG mistake, it's noisier and now wont even cut cans and leaves the edges really jagged!.. it's going back!
So true! It’s gone back to the store anyway. I did find the same model as my previous one on eBay, in mint condition even in original packaging! I’m a happy bunny once again.
@@HooverLux Thanks! I haven't used it yet, but assembled it and pressed down on the handle it sounded sooooooo gooooood much quieter than the new one. It also says will open ANY type of can, now the new version states that you can't use it on square cans... bonkers! another thing the 'new' one is supposed to be one touch... hahahahaha er no it's not, [well, mine wasn't] I might just have got a dodgy one, but judging by the reviews of it, not so sure.
@@HooverLux It's a complete life changer if you plan to eat a lot of canned food on the cheap. I think it's still worth the £20 it sells for on Amazon. I thought that perhaps having a contingency in place in case the electrical power disappears (you know, pretending to be prepared in case of a disaster etc) is still needed, but in that scenario you can just use a knife to force your way in. Considering this comes with an included knife sharpener, problem solved. :)
I had to Google OXO can opener, where were you before I spent 25 quid! 🤣. Cool design on them, I will have to remember for the future. Thanks for the comment mate.

I do like Kenwood products.
We've got an older which is great for my Mum when it comes to opening cans of salmon & tuna with her arthritic hands.

Well that saves messing about with a can opener that doesn't work like mine, gonna go shopping now thanks 👍🏻

@@HooverLux we had ours over 10 yrs wa still running great when we gave it away . Also the knife sharpener is really useful.
Just realised from other comments that I didn’t need to hold the handle down, it’s automatic! Genuine! 🤗

Thank you! This thing was doing my nut trying to figure out how to work out 😂
Happy to help!
The blade is spring loaded so just pushs up, how do you lock the blade.
I had one in another life 🤣 the knife sharpener was good but not if other half is unstable 🤣🤣 great video might just get another

Will it open square cans, e.g. corned beef / spam cans?
Now that’s not something I’ve tried as I don’t have any of those at home, but if I ever do I will make a short vid for you 🤗
I have this but an older version its metal 5though and it's also a knife sharpener
That’s good yours is still going. I wonder if Kenwood is still actually Kenwood or just used as a name?
@@HooverLux Its says Kenwood and I got it in 2010-2011 and its still working
A very helpful video! Thank you!
Ah excellent, thank you. I still have it and use it frequently.

That’s such a shame! They definitely don’t make these as good as before.

You’re absolutely welcome 🙏🏻
I'm getting this one. Manual ones are so flimsy they keep breaking all the time.
I’m still using mine even now and it’s not let me down yet, I’ve even had a few slightly mis shapen tins and it’s been fine
£10 now in B&M.
Oooh! I hope people see this, typical I bought it full price 🤣

If push came to shove I’d have to bash the can open, in those apocalyptic situations who cares if it goes on the floor, I’d be too hungry to care 🤣
Thank you.Very helpful.
You’re very welcome. I still use it now and it’s given me no issues
Lol I'll stick with my trustee oxo manual opener
