How on earth did you pull this off? Lychguard are tough, but they aren't that tough. All they got going for them is the 4++ and the -1 to wound when a noble is leading them if the S of the attack is higher than their toughness
@KhanTotalGaming99 fixed secondaries, stratgeme leveraging, positioning and lastly using all available OC. I played a Death Ball style, so nothing was on its own except for pretorians who in a couple games went from my deployment to my oppenents and back again. my scores 98/85/91/87/90
As a Necron player, it's kind of blowing my mind that someone won a major tournament with an Obeisance Phalanx list full of lychguard, Praetorians, a night scythe, etc. Dude EARNED that win I'm sure, lol
I played that list in round 3 and good GOD was it oppressive. I couldn't hold anything he just pressured me off the table the plane circled the board gunning down action monkeys and crippling Warp talon units. The doomsday arcs with immune to modifiers was firing without -1 to hit in combat so I couldn't stop them from deleting me.
@@MichaelPercival-lg3gh nice! Good recap/input. It's so interesting to me that he really made the night scythe put in work in particular. Maybe we've all been underrating it ...
Imperial Guard Players don’t stagnate in list building, most top players were just using David Gaylard’s Brainrot Kasrkin/Bullgryn/Manticore spam. Mordian Glory has gone undefeated in a good number of tournaments with everything from Catachan Spam to traditional looking lists to Pure Leman Russ. The issue is that our Detachment is utterly useless with 3 useless enhancements, 4 strats, and a borderline useless detachment ability
I have tested obeisance for a while and imho the monolith would be better than the king but... it's just too big and 90% of the wtc maps just don't allow it to move.
@@Deanbeyers1984 it moves 7 with fly, any wall higher than 0.6" CANNOT be moved over. Let's make an example with pythagoras theory, a wall is 0.6" high and 0.6" wide, the monolith is ~6" wide (it's a square as well. A monolith alrrady touching said wall with a flat edge would need a total movement of : 0.6" to move up + 6" to move over + 0.6" to move back down, that's 7.2" total. Every wall in wtc maps is over 1" high and 0.2" wide so the monolith literally cannot move over anything without advancing.
If the Silent King gets the Triarch Keyword (I cannot believe he didn't come with it in the codex) and Praetorians come down juuuust a little Obeisance Phalanx will see some serious play. It's got good strats and enhancements.
Just as a note on the Blood Angels Sons vs Gladius debate, it should be noted that the Necron list that won the Atlantic City Open beat a Blood Angels Sons list in the final, 96-93. That win was massively helped because the SIlent King (edited) exploded at a crucial point in the game and did 36 mortal wounds mainly to BAs units, and the BA player still only lost by 3pts, despite that massive amount of bad luck.
If the transport has the "dedicated transport" tag then yes, something must start inside or else it dies, if it doesn't have that keyword then it can start empty
It doesn't really take away from the Necrons player's impressive showing at Bristol Super-Major, but there was a 7th game for the top two which was won by the CSM player, so it didn't end as an undefeated performance.
Finally someone showed off Obeisance Phalanx! It’s far from the best, but 5/6 stratagems being battle tactics gives it some interesting options. It baffles me why they won’t fix the missing “Overlord” and “Triarch” keywords.
I'm the csm player with cult list at ACO. Would love a Collab!!
"I finally rest and watch the Sun rise on a greatful universe."
thanks for covering my Necron list, was a spicy weekend!
Night scythe is an underrated unit. It'd be nice to have it a little bit cheaper, but even so there's some real utility.

It's how they repay us for getting a codex at the same time as the end of edition and getting people to buy the cadia stands box....

Yeah, that checks out. Isn't it a flier though? Can't you just park it on the rooftops?

Had he not exploded that game easily was the BA player's. I couldn't believe that turn around luck.

The Obeisance Necron list wasnt at the Bristol major. Was at a Canadian tourney called "Critcal Fail 40k"
I have to know, does he mispronounce "obeisance" on purpose just to mess with people?
Great...here I was hoping necrons would get a keyword fix and a points drop for units to help out obeisance phalanx.
I just received my Pariah Nexus mission pack from my FLGS. Very exciting to see it in tournament and how the results of each army will turn out.

Poor Chaos knights
Dude, great pronunciation of "Chuchichästli". Respect :D
The question is: Why is there a Chuchichäschtli Super-Major in Bristol... 🤔
Was here to write the same comment! Unbelievable like a real Eidgenosse!
is it only me or is the necron list incomplete in the video (as picture) :o
thanks for the video!
okay, only missing the 10x triach praetorians with rods of covenant
the GK player saying fuck it. If it's not a dreadknight it's a landraider is kind of impressive as well

Not Deathwatch 🔥
Competitive 40k lists are so boring. Tournaments are fun to play in though no doubt
Cant stand night scythes being a convertable hypersonic jet. Just give it a cockpit
triple death company dreadnoughts is disgusting, they defo need their rule relooking at
With their moderate toughness and low wounds they are a High Risk/Reward unit. I doubt they will avoid going to legends after this edition.
