About IDICBeer 40k - NECRONS and More
My Channel is all about Warhammer 40,000 and is mainly a Necron Channel. The content on it will include 40k Battle Reports, Army Lists, Conversions, Magnetising tutorials, Painting tutorials, 40k Tactics and lots of General Hobby Tips. I have been into the hobby since 2002 and my first and largest army is Necrons and I cover all things Necrons, including Necron tactics and Tips. I also have an Eldar army, Dark Eldar army, a Tyranid army and a Space Wolves army. I'm also working on a new Slaanesh based Emperor's Children army, but that is on hold atm, but I will get to it one day! I upload videos every week.

Looking forward to seeing this list in action. I really wish GW would stop nerfing T-Stalkers for no reason and limiting their abilities.
Yeah the Stalker is such a cool unit :(
The stalker did get the Triarch keyword recently
They really need to get these keywords sorted out and readjust the prices. If the Silent King gets +1 to wound then its game over for our opponents!
I like the list quite a bit and cant way to see it in action.
Hopefully they adjust things
Don't forget stalkers now have "scouts 8".
Yeah that's a good shout too :D
ooh! I got a silly list for you! Hypercrypt: 120 warriors (20x6), 2 reanimators, warden with dimensional overseer, 3 convergence of dominion, silent king.
mmm interesting :D NECRONS!!
Triach keyword will probably get added in the dataslate later this month. I tried this detachment at the weekend and went horribly wrong...
I hope it happens mate
And they still haven't fixed it and the the "Guy" in the CCB can carry the overlords Blade! WTH!
Yeah, hopefully a fix is coming
I guess the Silent King unit isn't explicitly referred to as a Triarch in its rules quiiiite enough times to get the keyword...
🤔😂😂😂
Necrons!
NECRONS!! :D
Think I will wait for an update before trying this detachment. Still salty about the king not having the right key words
Ha ha fair play
For a detachment that focus on Overlord, I'm surprised you used heavy immortals rather than msu necron warriors
I felt the Warriors would be too fragile and the Overlords would be wasted in them
Immortals are cheaper and do way more damage. There is a strat for 5+ crits which benefits them hugely. +1 to wound is wasted on lethals too.
Triarch Stalkers are somewhat underrated in 10th Edition because Cover Saves seems so easy to get and he's a good tech piece to strip Cover off the unit you choose to gain +1 Wound.
They also have access to a gun which is very Rare in the Necron Faction which is Meltas and Flamers. To make things even better they are the strongest version being 2 Ranged Melta Shots with [Melta4] and a auto hitting Flamer that rolls 2D6 instead of 1D6. Yeah, your target has to be within half distance of your Melta to roll D6+4 Damage, but you still have access to a 4++ and Reanimation. Plus the - Damage Strat.
Also, since this detachment lacks any Strats that trigger Reanimation outside of the Command Phase, except your Overlords with Rez Orbs which unfortunately you can only use one Orb per turn and it happens at the end of the phase for a D6, have you considered a taking a Reanimator and a unit of 10 Lychguard with Warscythes and an Translocation Overlord? The Reanimator has the Vehicle keyword which means you can target him with the - 1 Damage Strat plus Feel No Pain 4+ providing the Lychguard with a 2D3 RP during the Command Phase and a D6+D3 when your Overlord uses his Orb.
I really like what they did with the Praetorian's Datasheet this edition. Fly and Deepstrike makes them pretty mobile and the ability to reroll charge rolls when you Deepstrike in addtion to being able to Fall Back and Charge gives you access to First Strike. Still 240 Points still feels too much for a unit that is T5 with just a 3+ Save and no Characters to lead them (Honestly with a 10" Fly, Deep Strike, Rerolling Charge Rolls, Fall back and Charge and being able to shoot after they Deep strike with 30 Pistol shots that have Devasting wounds and the Voidblade has the exact same weapon characteristics as the Rod of the Covenant, except it does 1 Damage but has 4 attacks instead of 3.)
I still think GW over corrected the Lychguard not being able to take any Crypteks beause of 1 Cryptek that made them too tough to kill. They should have just banned the Technomancer. The other 3 defintely don't make the unit broken (Plasmancer, Chronomancer and Psychomancer). They also stripped the Feel No Pain from the Cryptothralls, but if they still think it makes the unit too durable, then ban them too.
This nerf effectively reduces the number of units that Crypteks can lead down to the same 2 units which is Warriors and Immortals which is yet another option that GW has taken away, To reflect Dynastic Advisors I would add a rule that requires Crypteks attached to Lychguard must be lead by a Noble. I really hate having tactical options removed because GW overtuned certain units and combos.
I'm still trying to get over the Reanimator going down to 3" from 12", 12" was too much, but again GW overcorrected the balance change by making it 3" when it should have been 6".
Thanks for you thoughts, I agree the Stalker is very good. Like you say it is a shame the tactical options have been reduced because of the one combo, they could have changed that without the knee-jerk major rule change to Crypteks
Glad I found this. I've chose this detachment to be different and not like how everyone else playing.
It played pretty well, certainly fun too
well will see you tack on the devel dice and yes richrd as do new and play it yes gaming like a hair cut you got show up LOL
Ha ha
Gonna show us a battle report, Nick?
Oh yes, I have played a game already, the batrep will be up Monday next week :D NECRONS!!
Second!
NECRONS!!
Really enjoyed this - I like your approach to having fun as well vs. perfect rules optimization. I would be interested in seeing a list you create that had your favorite looking units in it, either Necrons or Tyranids. Not necessarily the best rules wise, but the "best" from your point of view on how the models look. An army built of your favorite looking models, sculpt wise. Personally, I've always been a big fan of the old space marine dreadnoughts and the second edition metal body landspeeder that was more streamlined. Same with the old on the shoulder mounted heavy weapons - the heavy bolter especially. And the vindicator tank. That would probably be my perfect army, with some assault marines with chain swords and the older chaplain and librarian sculpts.
Thanks buddy, that is a pretty cool idea, I may well give that a go 😁 NECRONS!!
cant stop stareing at the awesome shirt xD
He he it is rather cool 😁😎
A lot of folks are running Canoptek and Hypercrpyt for obvious reasons ... I'm really interested to see how this list and detachment work out
Thanks mate, the batrep will be up on Monday :D
When i play comp i play Hyperphase now. But i predic your list will be great against Orcs :D
It seems like the new go to
That hoodie is METAL!
It's very cool right 😎😁
My current list: 30 Destroyers (18 Lokhust, 9 Lokhust Heavies, 3 Lords), 3x5 Lychguard, 2x3 Tomb Blades, 3 Tomb Sentinels. It’s so much fun to play, and is probably the list that kills more than any other Necrons list I have ever seen
Nice one 👍
@@IDICBeer thanks!
👍
😁
tried the detachment and you could use orikan in an immortals unit instead of the chronomancers to make it more durable since you dont need the plasmancer and it also makes them more dangerous to charge them since he can take a big swing. could even add the d3 mortal wounds strat when charged
The -1 dmg to vehicles strat is pretty good when an opponent is trying to take out some of those big vehicles... makes the doomsday arks sooooo much more durable...
It might not be the strongest detachment, but the game I played with it was pretty fun, specially if you just play casual fun games its not as bad as people think. Just a lot of their enhancements and stratagems (like precision) are really situational.
I did take a unit of lychguard with warscythes since I think they are just cool, not very durable but still fun
Not sure I'd ever own 3 triarch stalkers though :P
I'm really looking forward to it, although Richard always has tough lists so not sure how I will fair lol
GL I'm sure it will be fun regardless@@IDICBeer
It'll certainly be an interesting one to see in action!
Thanks Dan, it will be a good challenge I am sure ha ha
I just got the 10th edition codex maybe this will be the year i get to play my first game
Let's hope so mate :D
Cool looking list, good luck with it!
Thanks mate
