      None in the foot nor verticals to tie to the wall. WTH??

    • @pnutmal
      @pnutmal 7 лет назад +2

      GomerfromIsaan some places all you have to do is put in a key way in the footings. It's actually the A.C.I. code book believe it or not . It's not like that where I live though

      Winston Clifford only 9 to 10 foot walls are in need for steel work these forms are 8 footers no need

      The majority of houses that I pour, even if they are 9-foot walls do not need any rebar in them at all. Every barn that I have poured needs it, as well as commercial jobs. I would say many houses do not, though.

      Judging by the name, Mexico maybe?

    • @stephenaustin6551
      @stephenaustin6551 7 лет назад

      That's a French name. I live in Mexico. We use shit loads of rebar. A full bond beam at 9' height. A vertical every meter ( 40"). All solid block, steel, and concrete. Even the roofs.

    • @dedalliance1
      @dedalliance1 7 лет назад +1

      Well maybe it's french then. I think Rebar is really only for code in places that have earth quakes or any kind of ground movement. If the ground doesn't move, then the concrete is gonna be just fine sitting there.

    • @stephenaustin6551
      @stephenaustin6551 7 лет назад +3

      I was a concrete contractor. Concrete really has no strength. If you put 4'' x 4' x 10' Between the walls with no support it would crack in half. But if you put 1/2" ( # 2 ) rebar every 12'' ( making a checker board ) it will be very strong. One helps the other. You ever see a bridge pylon ? It's mostly steel and filled in with concrete. Vibrated so as to have NO air bubbles. Air bubbles would break the bond. Also horizontal rebar in a footing insure no differential settling. I worked in Phx 40 years. Now they use post tension. A much better system.

    • @dedalliance1
      @dedalliance1 7 лет назад +1

      Well, I know there's a lot of primitive forms of concrete used in Roman structures that still stand today with no rebar. Obviously it's not worth really doing it without rebar and have your house fall on you, but if done right without it I'm sure it can still be done. You need the right kind of concrete though.

    • @216Numbskull
      @216Numbskull 2 года назад

      @pumpnprop, Sorry, but what sense does it make to go out of your way & take the time making an instructional steps to concrete forming video & NOT provide viewers who want to learn how to, with the proper steps it takes to do the job right? Yeah, "Informational purposes" which are wrong & misguided in this video. The context & steps should be way more reliable of a source to educate viewers, not mislead them. Even if the information in this video was outdated & didn't reflect to the most current procedures of how to. (which they're NOT, seeing we've been using rebar as reinforcement in concrete b4 there were video cameras to even film the steps on how to.) I would of updated a clause to WARNING in my video description, right or wrong? This is just bad "information" for anyone to go by or use, period! No wonder why kid's & young adults today don't know their azz from a hole in the ground, seriously? WTF!

      Ah this is a weird foundation, 12:26 they're using a 12 and a 14 so a 10" wall going to an 8' on an outside wall.. Where I'm from its 10" wide walls unless its just to make a wine cellar or something

      No need. This is by far the fastest way to do footings. Driving stakes is stone age

  • @bradhorst2144
    @bradhorst2144 5 лет назад

    Why would you not pour to top of form and he didn't put any steaks or rebar in wtf?

    • @user-zu2bw7ig5v
      @user-zu2bw7ig5v 3 года назад

      No need for stakes driving stakes is old school this is by far the fastest way to do footings. They didn't pour to the top because the panels are to high for the wall height. These panels are much easier to work with because of that you can easily do different wall heights.

      Only if you have a very large step and you cap the lower wall at the step or a very large window .We use aluminum forms with two inch ribs so half inch by 4 inch concrete screws (Big tapcons) into the footer do the trick.
