I bought my first bottle of Angel when I was a flight attendant out of Detroit and I was so proud I could finally afford a fancy perfume! Each time I wear it I remember the confidence I gained at that time in my early twenties! 1998!!!
I remember going on a trip to Greece for my classics A levels and a friend wearing this the whole trip. I think I was around 18/19 so maybe 1996? It was such a new, interesting, delicious addictive scent!
I still love and use my Issey Miyake. I also have the Perry Ellis 360 and Elizabeth Arden. Even if I have newer ones, I still go back to my old favorites.
This doesnt have to do with this video but i bought kim Kardashians fleur fatale and honey based on your reviews...man, theyre both georgous!! I cant put down the fleur fatale lately as its already in the mids 90s here( we get to 112 to 115 in summer.) Cant wait for your summer recommendations!
Issey Miyake was my signature scent for years, its so classic and beautiful, i wore it from 2004 to 2016, literally my favorite signature scent for many many years!
What were you wearing after as a signature? I'm nosy, butvlove hearing what others love to wear. I also loved issey 20 years ago when I was 20, and anything by issey..that brand was avant garde
Loved this video! Please keep this going with perfumes from the 70's & 80's that u like/love Example: I wore Sand& Sable in 1983 while in junior high ❤
You're so right Sarah these perfumes are timeless and in a league of their own. Dont get me wrong, i love modern scents but there are so many new releases now they're just generic.
Arden Green Tea makes me think of white cardigans and class 👛 Very Charlotte York from SATC 👩 My mom always wore Perry Ellis 360 and she's never stopped wearing it
Wore Green Tea yesterday and was reminded of its beautiful qualities! It last pretty much all day and I felt uplifted through out the hours of work and kids and home and life!!
Dana Navy used to pack a punch! If I still owned my bottle I would not feel weird wearing it around. Tocade too! This is why I love perfumes from that era. I still confidently wear CK Obsession or Yves Rocher Venice today.
So happy you mentioned Green tea..update on my new bottle: I managed to let it macerate? After a few weeks in a dark place, it no longer smells like alcohol and synthetic lemons, its more like my old bottle...still vanishes super fast, and i need up to 10+ spritzes so that it smells kinda like the old one. (from 5-6 years ago) I am hoping that with time it will concentrae magically .
My ears perked up with Sultan Or, I love Lancome Poem, and I've heard contradicting things about it being discontinued, which sent me into a tizzy. I bought a huge bottle, and got the dupe from oil fragrances. Now I have to try Sultan. It can be another backup.
Really loved this list ! I so agree with Angel.. that one is a scent that’s tattooed in my brain… one beyond it’s time when it came out… I got Tocade 2 yrs ago and fell in love with it immediately… such a classy floral.. one that I think is “modern” vintage is Ralph Lauren Romance 😊
My aunt introduced me to L'eau d ' Issey 🥰🥰🥰 I will always love that scent. If anyone remembers Givenchy Oblique Fast Forward I wore that one too! Enjoyable video Sarah!
Stella was one of those I smelled in a magazine and was obsessed with. I had to buy it. Also the sensual version of Givenchy Very Irresistible. Another good one with rose.
Lolita Lempicka is still my best friends signature perfume. 😊✨🧚🏼♂️✨ I don’t get near it because it’s her scent! Lol I love timeless vintage perfumes. 💗
I am like that with the original Light Blue. It was my best friends signature for so long and even though she doesn’t wear it anymore I still won’t touch it. ❤️
I graduated hs alllll the wayyyyyy back in 1992. Lol. I JUST smelled Angel by Mugler about 3 days ago when my samples arrived. (Up til about 3 months ago I’ve only ever been able to wear 4711 or Ibiza Hippie by Escada -my favorite and unable to find under $150-200. 😢- without getting severe migraines. ) Since I accidentally discovered that quite a few scents are now sniffable/wearable, I’ve been going a bit crazy. Lol And pretty sure I’m one of those that you’d label as an “oversprayer”. #sorrynotsorry! Every video of yours I find, I have a list of scents to try by the time video ends! #thankyou!!!
We’re in the same age range, and I had or still have almost all of these! Stella is my all time favorite rose fragrance, too. In fact, my vintage bottle is getting low and authentic bottles are getting harder to find so I recently requested Julianna’s Perfumes do a dupe. Fingers crossed that they will AND will capture it’s beauty! Also, why am I the only one who notices the similarities between vintage Lolita Lempicka and Mon Guerlain?! TBH, I preferred the Lolita Lempicka, but the first time I smelled Mon Guerlain that’s what came to mind. Anyway, I love vintage, too, and we have a lot of the same favorites so I really enjoy these videos. Brought back some great memories! Thanks and your weekend! P.S.: I agree Dior fragrances are among the most timeless! 👌🏻
I'll have Green tea and L'eau D'Issey and totally agree with the timelessness of them. I think Bora Bora could have easily been on this list too. It's from 2002 but to me feels like if you told me it was a designer scent from the last couple of years, i would not even second guess it. Also, a few videos back you mentioned doing a 'Is it a dupe' video for Scent of Peace and Eau de RubyLips. I would very much like that. I was gifted Scent of Peace for Christmas and I love it but can't fathom spending that kind of cash on myself. Thanks for the awesome video.
I continue to wear Amarige, classic White Musk from the body shop, and Jennifer Lopez Still. They are all technically signatures for me, I guess. I was 15 when Angel came out and I remember aunts, family friends, neighbors allll eventually wearing it. It's not for me but I can understand why women love that one. I smelled it into the mid 2000's which just goes to show how iconic it is. Thanks❤💫
I stole Green Tea from my sister when she moved out for college, and all these years later it's still my everyday scent. I also think it smells expensive; I was shocked that it's only like $17 per bottle.
I remember a teen family friend who was a little older than my kids had to take us to Nordstrom in the mid 90’s show us Angel. Flash forward I was given a bottle a few years ago, love it and more importantly it works with my chemistry…just recently someone at a store asked me what I was wearing…haha 👍🏼 Fun video Sara
@@prettyzoemel I hope you will love it! The vintage one was much stronger but it is still very good. The first spray might be challenging, but the drydown is beautiful. If you like classy florals try Anais Anais by Cacharel (the old Eau de Toilette and not Anais Anais L'Original Eau de Parfum). It smells similar to Fleur Narcotique by Ex Nihilo- a very expensive niche fragrance.
@@elisabeth400 I am down for a challenging fragrance! I feel like my nose has changed over the years! I love unique scents that go against the grain! From what I’ve read on fragrantica, LouLou is a gem!
I LOVED this review! Modern vintage yes yes! I have Stella - the best! I have Lolita Lempicka EDT, so more powdery and love it! All of them are classic and really modern! Love to you, Sarah!❤️🌹
Thank you for sharing this video ❤ I just realized I actually own quite few from this video. I had them when I was in early 20's...they are still amazing just you said. And I also feel so old now haha 😂
Absolutely. LL will always stand the test of time. It was so ahead of its time. Guerlain is one of my favorite houses. I amassed so many Shalimar flankers because Shalimar was my grandma's signature. I agree Angel is another classic (and A*Men). In my head Angel always fit a beautiful amazon woman ie Anna Nicole Smith or something, but of course anyone can rock any perfume they wish. I remember ladies were either an Angel girl or an Alien girl. As you might suspect I was always an Angel girl. 😊
This is exactly what I want to see. I thought Lolita was new. Wow. I remember wearing Poison (my friend’s) and it was sooooooo unique and captivating. I felt amazing wearing it. I can’t decide between which poison now. What do you think about Tressor Midnight Rose? I still love In love. You should do “Can’t believe I loved it but nose has changed.” Please tell me what grandma perfumes smell like. I genuinely want to know.
The classic L'eau d'Issey and the L'eau d'Issey Florale are absolute staples for me. You can buy L'eau d'Issey today and you get that same beautiful smell. They are never leaving my wardrobe. Pure Poison was heaven back then. I bought a new bottle but it pales in comparison to the old. Angel is on my 💩 list of worst things ever, but to each their own - we all have our preferences. 💖 I never heard Sirene and I'm off to do a google search!
One of my favorite of all times is Exclamation! Nothing like it edt that let’s all day and beyond. I found one on Mercari. A small bottle but still in its packaging. I’d easily keep that and give away the Delina Exclusif and keep my little vintage exclamation
Such a good topic!! Especially for younger folks out there who want to dip their toes into vintage but are afraid of smelling out-of-place. Anais Anais, imo, still smells modern today even though it never danced on my own skin!!! I can see the original Quelques Fleurs on a 20 something year old today, or a good dupe is Jivago 24K. Very womanly and classy without being grandma. This video makes me wish I had a time machine! My favs off this list are Burberry Women, Green Tea, Lalique and J'adore.
Hey Sarah! Oh yay, a blast from the past! My taste definitely changed from when I was a kid. I used to LOVE Love's Fresh Lemon and now I would never be able to wear it. 😆I love everything you mentioned minus Angel, I was never able to wear that one.😵
Angel was one of the first perfumes that I ever went “Oh 😮 I need that!” I’ll never forget that moment. I was 16 standing in front of a Mugler counter at Macy’s. 😇
I had Angel back in the eNineties! I remember when it hit the market I had to have. i have a real love for more "intense" scents but Lolita Lempicka, the Burberry and the Poisons were way too sweet for me. I stuck to Ralph Lauren Lauren, Romance, and CK One which all don't smell dated at all to me but were all powerhouses. I also fell pretty in love with OH! De Moschino when it came out and it was pretty expensive for me at the time but I just adored that perfume and I wish they kept it around. Your content is truly different from everybody else's
The issey miyake was always a little sharp for me so I opted for Laila and it ended up working better for me. Laila is a perfect summer perfume for me. :))))) xo
I miss the 90s hypnotic poison...the new one is a watered down mess....I could tell when my daughter had to use 5 sprays..and I could barely smell it on her
Hey Sarah! For vintage hypnotic poison has the scent changed at all? It’s hard to believe that an older bottle would completely stay in tact after all these years, has it gone off a bit in the top notes? Greatly appreciated. I recently ordered a vintage from 2006 so I’m hopeful it hasn’t gone off

Lolita Lempicka - so unique!!!Love it
I just got the Sirene, not going to lie, that bottle plus I ❤ rose
