I love that other young women are talking about vintage fragrances! I’m a fan and I get the “why do you want to smell like an old lady?” comments but I don’t care. Love hearing your thoughts on these!
Funny thing about "Old-Lady" perfumes is that these fragrances were made for younger ladies of the day. I think about this when I compare older fragrances to those of the current gourmand heavy fragrances of today and think, "Someday, these will be considered "old-lady fragrances". Haha I personally have become more and more drawn to vintage fragrances just because they are more interesting to my palat. While there are indeed quite a few "modern" (Last 20 years or so) perfumes I absolutely adore, there is a special place in my heart for Chanel No 5, Shalimar and L'air Du Temps. Great video! I have smelled Youth Dew from the bottle but never tried it because it seemed extremely overpowering. However, you got me thinking I need to just get a bottle and give it a real test drive. Thank you for sharing your story about your Grandma. Absolutely beautiful. 💖
I don’t know why some people are stuck in that old lady smell bias, so I agree with you! The current fragrances out there smell like baby powder, flower overload and cotton candy or cake to me. Ick! BUT just my personal opinion. My go to perfume is 1975 Halston. Every fragrance in the world smells different on every individual. Doesn’t matter if the fragrance is from 2022 or 1922! Wear what you love! ❤️👍
@sarahshouse1890 My oldest sister used to wear Halston ( but she passed away in 2001) so it's not just a nice fragrance, but a nice memory (and another sister who passed away in 2017 liked to wear KL by Karl Lagerfield and Miracle by Lacome. And some of my personal favorites that I still love are Lou Lou, L'Heure Bleue, Epris by Coty,Bijan and Bijan with a Twist by Bijan,or remember Unforgettable by Revlon? And I used to to have some have that Aviance and Aviance Night Musk,Lutece Enjoli, Tabu or what about Luna Mystique, and I love those old Caron fragrances like Infiniti Parfum Sacre,Montaigne,Bellodgia,etc..but it is getting harder and harder to find Caron fragrances now. And I also like Fidji too. And I also agree with you that alot of companies are making their fragrances super sickly sweet. But I do have to admit that I really enjoy Valentino fragrances!! But there are alot.of other perfumes nowadays that smell exactly alike..not like the beautiful fragrances of the past. It's like cars to..if you notice alot of cars nowadays look exactly the same...not like cars from.the 50's and 60's which had their own unique style.
I've recently become obsessed with Elizabeth Taylor and bought 9 of her fragrances! They can be difficult to find, so most of them I had to buy online. They were all blind buys because they're not really available to test in department stores anymore, and I absolutely love every single one ❤️ I don't think I'll ever need another perfume because I just want to wear these all the time. Edit to add that my grandma wore the original White Diamonds. I think it smells so classy and lovely.
I love those vintages. I wore Ciara at 14. Coco at 21. Old lady - no way. Thanks for supporting my passion. By the way, I also love the new stuff - just as you seem to. ❤️😘
Girl... when you got to youth dew I had to pull over and cry with you. My grandma was the same... I just ordered a vintage bottle last month. It’s on my night stand and I smell it every night and think of her.
I love Youth Dew and I love to spray it at bedtime much more than wearing it out. It's so classic and comforting. My condolences. I miss my grandma too. 💙
I LOVE Diamonds and Rubies. It's my son's favorite scent on me. He loves to spray it in the room he's in so he can smell it without actually wearing it. Beautiful fragrance.
@@melissagerber7231 i have all those. They smell good. I agree, White Diamonds Night is more of a Fall/ Winter scent. But you should also try White Diamonds Legacy. It's so smooth.
I LOVE Tabu! ❤ One of my favorites! I own the newer version, my Mother wore the vintage back in the 60s. Lovely!🌼 A total spice bomb...warm, oriental, spicy, incensey, powdery, woody. and beautiful! Perfect for Fall!🌼🌻🌼 Thank you for the great reviews!😊💕🌼
LOVE IT! If you haven’t smelled Ysatis by Givenchy it’s a vintage 80’s jewel, rich and decadent. Also Salvador Dali -his OG fragrance is rich, buttery rum and spices-very nice! I too have Youth Dew, Coco, and love me some Obsession and the original old formulation Angel is one I hated years ago but now I actually adore! Thanks for the sweet review!❤️
I love your collection soo much Im a vintage and classic fragrance lover as well I will love to see your recommendations for summer vintage fragrances!! I feel you when you remember your grandma🙏 that's the same feeling I get when I smell Maja🥺 anyway Take care God bless and keep those vintage fragrance video coming! ☺️
Brilliant video! think it’s a beautiful thing that fragrance helps keep alive memories of our loved ones. And never enough vintage perfume related content on RUclips in my book! Nice job.
5:49 Passion. TIP for Vintage Hunters: LOOK for the bottle where the diamond on the front is PAINTED a lilac color. Those are the very early versions. I feel that Passion was her answer to DIOR Poison. They are both "stews" with a LONG list of ingredients . Passion still packs a PUNCH. It's mature .

Great collection there !!
Hi Kay sweetheart! Excellent excellent review! I absolutely love my vintage perfumes and I totally agree with you about them not smelling old lady. I started to tear up with you when you were talking about youth due and your beloved grandmother. Honey you have great taste in fragrances! Recently I just hauled Ted lapidus creation which initially I didn't care for because I thought it smelled like Charlie blue which I decluttered. But I let it sit for a good week and now I'm wearing it every day girl. It is gorgeous! Yesterday I was up in idyllwild and I ordered some coffee from a roaster house and I got the nicest compliment from a very young lady and she went crazy for creation. It smells niche! I also just got red pearl but that hasn't came in yet. And just rebot my fourth bottle of Elizabeth Taylor passion which I absolutely adore! And I also got both rumbas from Ted lapidus rumba passion is amazing and so is the original Rumba. My birthday is coming up so I will be hauling a buttload of fragrances mostly vintage. Have you tried coriandre yet? I know you're not a fan of green perfumes but it is really gorgeous once you get past the sweat smell of the top coriander. I remember smelling it when I was a little girl in the 70s on my teacher and being totally addicted to that smell. Completely forgot about those memories until I ordered it and I said that's what she was wearing! I really do love your reviews and hope that you jump on and start reviewing more often. You are so lovable, sweet, and wise for your age darling. Love you and lots of hugs!
Yes!! I love vintage, particularly the more complex ones. You neeeed to add Bijan to your list, just a smashing 80’s concoction. It’s got that 80’s soapy vibe, but with a cola/honey fizziness that leans amber. It’s a perfect sweet fall/winter scent.
I love watching your videos! Your recommendation of Tabu was great...thank you! I think it smells so nice and clean! I really love this fragrance. I also love wearing Tuscany per Donna (Estee Lauder) for my main Fall fragrance. I highly recommend if you love spicy and vanilla fragrances. Have a wonderful day!
I adored this video and especially the very sweet memory of your Grandmother!! I absolutely love vintage fragrances and it is so refreshing to find a young lady like yourself who appreciates the complexity of these gems! You actually reminded me of a few to add to my own collection 🥰 Do you have Chantilly or Emeraude? Or L'air du Temps? Read the history of those and smell them if you have the chance...I think you would like them! Thanks for sharing!

Yes I still love Tabu, and Chantilly, also some other really good fall fragrances are Emmeaude by Coty,Ciara (which is very, very good, but very strong)..Interlude by Frances Denney is really hard to find but is really good,Van Cleef and Arpels by Van Cleef and Arpels (the bottle looks like a huge diamond 💎) 273 by Fred Hayman who made Giorgio Beverly Hills...Must de Cartier edp or pure perfume...Bijan by Bijan. .these are just some good suggestions (I think for older vintage but super sexy fragrances for fall)...

Have you ever smelled Charlie sunshine? It was discontinued years back. I use to wear it as a teen and I swear Versace Bright Crystal smells exactly like it!
Just found your channel last week and we are perfume soul mates love heavy amber musky fragrances! Thank you for some more ideas. I bought a few of your recommendations love it don’t even care that it is summer time!
I love Youth Dew, my co-worker would wear it. It was a gorgeous, plush incense on her. I think Ciara is a lot nicer than Fire and Ice. Ciara might have been Revlon's response to the big launch of YSL Opium. Esprit d'Oscar might have been released in the mid 2000's, as an updated Oscar. I would love to hear your comparison of Esprit and the original Oscar. Thanks for your fun video.
I know this vid is 4 years old but I have 2 say Ralph Lauren Safari for women is great. They just don't make mainstream fragrances like that anymore. It's strong, sophisticated, intoxicating, love it or hate it. I love it of course. Dune is another like that.
Shame about Obsession. I was 10 when it came out. Coco Shalimar and Opium: do you need them all? EdP v EDT for those given current formulas (you already threw your vote behind edt coco which is helopful thank you!)? Thanks for this video. I'm really old school in my sensibility. I just recently tried white diamonds EDT and enjoyed it. Thought it was close to Red Door. Maybe better? Not sure. Same Designer (Benaim). Haven't smelled passion. What do you think of the 2019 Rouge de Elizabeth Taylor?
Charlie perfume smells kind of weird for me. In my opinion,on the first notes I hear sour fruits which I hate then later it opens up with warm amber which I do like and would wear it...! So it's very complicated perfume, I actually decided to give it away to my mother in law!!!
Vintage has nothing to do w/ age (old lady?); it has to do w/ timelessness. Some of the best fragrances in the world are among the vintage perfumes. Jen Z should venture out and smell these masterpieces.
These are the perfumes supposed smells like congratulations 👏 for your taste …. Now the majority are only sugar with fruits and alcohol really wasting of money, i went back to some vintages and I’m happy 😃
ok, this is my last comment. LOOOL. This video was SOOOO fun and relatable to me because I already have so many of the scents you mention, because smelling like a rich old lady it's my sh*t. and you gave me a lot of new old lady scents to buy and check out. My friends don't always like them but i don't care. loool.
So what would you say the differences between CK OBSESSION And Tabu are? I am a true lover of Obsession and it is always in my collection and I have back ups… i’m just wondering if I really need taboo or if it’s really close?
What does an “old lady” smell like? “ Old ladies” have better taste in perfume than younger ladies sometimes. Don’t be offensive to people because of their age. It’s not nice.
Well made perfumes, if kept in optimum conditions, don't expire. And if you have allergies, the newest thing available will still provoke a reaction. If you're not allergic to any of the ingredients, you won't have a problem.
I love that other young women are talking about vintage fragrances! I’m a fan and I get the “why do you want to smell like an old lady?” comments but I don’t care. Love hearing your thoughts on these!

Thank you 😊
I know this vid is 4 years old but I have 2 say Ralph Lauren Safari for women is great. They just don't make mainstream fragrances like that anymore. It's strong, sophisticated, intoxicating, love it or hate it. I love it of course. Dune is another like that.
Hi. Do you ever mix your perfumes together?
Thanks for this fantastic video. I find that people are really going towards vintage perfume these days. That seems to be the trend at the moment.
Awe- it’s ok babe u can cry.
Can Passion By Elizabeth Taylor be worn as a summer fragrance too ?
Yes it warms up nicely but spray light
Charlie perfume smells kind of weird for me. In my opinion,on the first notes I hear sour fruits which I hate then later it opens up with warm amber which I do like and would wear it...! So it's very complicated perfume, I actually decided to give it away to my mother in law!!!
Oh smell obsession men 100’times better! The one for women headache one for men constantly sweet and spicy
I need to pick that one up!!!
Ciara is intriguing - smells like a dusty old Halloween haunted house!
I have an embarrassing amount of fruity floral. I just like them. Gourmand is a subset of Oriental,so,I guess that's why.
ok, this is my last comment. LOOOL. This video was SOOOO fun and relatable to me because I already have so many of the scents you mention, because smelling like a rich old lady it's my sh*t. and you gave me a lot of new old lady scents to buy and check out. My friends don't always like them but i don't care. loool.
Are you sure the EDT lasts longer than the EDP? - I've never heard that before & never had that experience
So what would you say the differences between CK OBSESSION And Tabu are? I am a true lover of Obsession and it is always in my collection and I have back ups… i’m just wondering if I really need taboo or if it’s really close?
It is way different you need to just go get tabu it is cheap and wonderful to have both
@@KitschyKay I did grab it and it’s lovely. I add a little sweet vanilla to it … really great🙏🏼❤️
💕💞
Alap great video
What does an “old lady” smell like?
“ Old ladies” have better taste in perfume than younger ladies sometimes.
Don’t be offensive to people because of their age. It’s not nice.
Ummmm hold your horses I love "old lady" perfumes and was using satire to make fun of the term.
Oh you are only 25 😵😵😵 I'm a dinosaur
Hahahaha 😅🦖
Olliesmom...so am I🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too 🦖
@@nancyjlewis1705 but the cutest one by far😘
hahah so.. I am a Trilobite, nice to meet you ! 🤝
Not the actual street walker. lol
How can u use vintages? I have one but I am afraid to put an expired product on me. I will never ever do that.Good luck with allergies
Well made perfumes, if kept in optimum conditions, don't expire.
And if you have allergies, the newest thing available will still provoke a reaction. If you're not allergic to any of the ingredients, you won't have a problem.
My mom has kept her Intrigue by Mary Kay in the fridge. It never goes bad.
