It’s a tall task to unseat Dake and Nolf. He’s been dominant at everything but the senior level as he’s taken gold at the U20 and U23 World Championships.
Why does it take NCAA referees forever to even warn a wrestler for stalling? Why? I really want to know. It happens EVERY single match. It took the referee almost the whole three minutes of the first period to even warn Wolak for stalling. He was stalling the whole first minute, the whole second minute and all of the third minute. It’s like the referees are to watch the matches. Heaven forbid they should make a guy actually wrestle. It kills the sport for spectators because it’s boring as hell to watch. One guy does all the work and the other guy stands back and counters; it provides an unfair advantage. Referees you are not spectators. Do your job and make everybody wrestle!
Agree. Watch old NCAA matches here on youtube, especially eaarly to mid 80s and you will see a completely different standard of stall calling. In those days you might be allowed to "stall out" of a position once or MAYBE twice, but never for an entire three minute period. Usually within 30 seconds or so. And lo and behold, the matches were exciting! People boast about how today's technique is so much better than it used to be and it a lot of ways it is, but what they don't understand is that in the old days, the refs would call stalling much more liberally, which really opened up the match scoring. Guys didn't want to get stalled out, especially in the third period when they were tired, which forced the action and sometimes things got wild and thus appeared to be sloppy.
GEES! I'm watching this from my computer, and I feel like I need binoculars!
O’Tooles outside step is beautiful
And the stall calls the dude is wrestling the returning national champ
Nobody else in div 1 is on his offense as much as Keegan.....and it pays off. He'll do even better against Wolak in their next meeting.
Reversal not escape at the end of the match.
Otoole took 29 shots and Wolak took -6.😂
I thought o toole would be the best ever in freestyle as well but he has not done much in freestyle wrestling compared to college ranks

That was a knee bar ref.🫣
