I would have it posted everywhere they have valet. The law states we cannot legally do breathalyzer starts for anyone. If your vehicle has one,we cannot valet the vehicle.
“These guys are not supposed to be in restaurants drinking alcohol” he’s absolutely wrong. They just aren’t supposed to operate a motor vehicle afterwards.
Simple solution: don't let a valet deal with any car that has a court ordered breathalyzer interlock. Those cars should have different colored license plates or something. Maybe even a special sticker on the windshield.
Oh this is the hey a valet is passed out in a parking spot on the ground after calling to tell me he doesnt feel well. All he worried about was how it looked for his new account at the restaurant.
Even if you wanted to do it in pursuit of a great tip, the modern systems take a photo of the driver when the breathalyzer is used. They also will make you use the breathalyzer at random times throughout a trip, not only upon startup... So using the breathalyzer to start the vehicle for a guest wouldn't be some sort of get out of jail free card. Luckily I'm my decade+ experience as a valet I've only ever experienced situations where the owner of a car with a breathalyzer needs to be walked to their car to pass the test themself, then the valet drives the car out of the garage for insurance purposes. If possible, it's better to leave the car in a more accessible space outside of a secured garage to facilitate a more seamless departure for the guest- just walk them to their car and send them on their way.
Hear those are use like a probation check in. I’ve had to rush. The car is the boost him so that people could blow into them so that they wouldn’t violater probation.
Alcohol interlock devices take random testing of the driver after starting so if the driver has his car started by someone other than himself and then drive away he will get prompted to blow into the device. If he doesn;t blow he will be prompted to pull over and if he does blow and fails the test he will also be prompted to pull over. In both situations you get a lock out for half an hour and then you must test again. Failure to pass or to blow will leave you on the side of the road. This fail will go on the decides memory and will cost the driver a huge headache. You can't fool this system. They are so sensitive to alcohol that even if someone spills a drink on you and you attempt to start your car it will give a fail.
Be careful with that. Just in case you didn’t know when cars have an intoxa lock. Or any other brand of breathalyzer. They are also installed with the camera so they can prosecute any situation like this. I’m sure an honest mistake wouldn’t land you in a world of trouble. But that shits risky

Also if cops pulls you over for driving weird, they won't care what test you took. They will tell you to take their breathalyzer test.
